About West Cornwall

One of the most beautiful parts of the county, West Cornwall is a haven of natural beauty and impressive landmarks. Running from Hayle on the north coast all the way around the peninsula to Porthleven on the south coast, West Cornwall covers a variety of beautiful corners, including Land’s End (the most westerly tip of mainland England) and the ancient moorland of Penwith.

An area of contrasts, you can explore dramatic granite cliffs in the morning and white sandy beaches in the afternoon, making West Cornwall the perfect base for any holiday. Boasting a rich mining heritage, remnants of Cornwall’s industrial past can still be seen clinging to the cliffs, whether you’re walking along the coastal path at Rinsey, St Just, or the Poldark-famous cliffs at Botallack.

Going back even further, West Cornwall is also home to some of the county’s most fascinating ancient sites. The Merry Maidens is one of the county’s best-preserved and most famous stone circles, while Mên-an-Tol’s megalithic structure promises a captivating photo opportunity, or you can head to Chysauster Ancient Village, which invites you to stroll through the remains of one of Cornwall’s Roman-British settlements.

West Cornwall’s ties to the fishing industry are woven deep, with villages such as Porthleven, Newlyn, and Mousehole bringing in fresh catches to this day. This means local restaurants can serve the best of Cornish produce, alongside a refreshing selection of local beers, wines, and spirits. Alongside fishing, this fascinating corner of Cornwall has famous ties to smuggling, which can be seen in hidden coves and even in Penzance’s oldest pub, which is home to an escape tunnel (The Turks Head, in case you were wondering)!

Things to do in West Cornwall

West Cornwall is jam-packed with an incredible array of things to see and do, whether your interests lie in watersports, sightseeing, or days spent wandering around the many pretty towns and villages.

Attractions in West Cornwall

St Michael’s Mount - Cornwall is home to many incredible castles, but few compare to St Michael’s Mount. Set on a small tidal island off Marazion, this iconic Cornish landmark can be reached by foot at low tide across the cobblestone causeway or by water taxi at high tide. Explore the historic harbour, wander up the famous path (keeping an eye out for the giant’s heart stone as you go), and marvel at the beautiful subtropical gardens, all while soaking up sprawling views across Mount’s Bay.

Jubilee Pool - The UK's largest seawater lido, Jubilee Pool is the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing dip. There are lots of great events throughout the year, from full moon swims and live music to their beloved doggie day in the autumn, while the geothermal pool is a luxurious spot to lounge in balmy waters.

Minack Theatre - Another of Cornwall’s most instantly recognisable landmarks, the Minack invites you to enjoy a truly breathtaking open-air experience, whether you visit for a show, live music, or just to look around the incredible clifftop theatre and gardens. With views across Porthcurno Beach and the rugged coast beyond, it’s one of the best sights in Cornwall by a coastal mile.

Gardens - Boasting its own subtropical microclimate, it’s little surprise that West Cornwall is home to a wonderful selection of gardens to explore. Run by the National Trust, Trengwainton Garden near Penzance is primed for peaceful strolls, whether you love the wildness of woodland or the perfectly pruned walled garden. Trewidden Garden is another family favourite, with one of the best collections of magnolias and camellias, while Tremenheere Sculpture Garden promises a merry mix of arresting artwork, sea views, and pretty tiered gardens.

Lighthouses - Clad with some dramatic cliffs and rocky outcrops, you’ll find some fascinating lighthouses in West Cornwall. Godrevy Lighthouse is perhaps the most famous, with its rocky silhouette visible from across St Ives Bay. Pair your visit with an autumnal sunset, and you have the makings of a rather spectacular experience (and photo op). Pendeen Lighthouse near Penzance is another favourite, while Longships Lighthouse off the coast of Land’s End is perhaps the most important lighthouse in Cornwall, protecting ships from the rugged outcrop at England’s most westerly tip.

Engine houses - For the historians and photographers out there, Cornwall’s engine houses make for a fascinating pause while walking the South West Coast Path. Wheal Prosper sits above the beloved beach at Rinsey, making it one of the most scenic examples of Cornwall’s mining heritage, while Botallack and Levant Mines boast a dramatic backdrop atop the granite cliffs along the Tin Coast.

Activities in West Cornwall

Watersports - It will come as no surprise that West Cornwall is a popular destination for watersport enthusiasts. Mousehole and Praa Sands are popular spots for coasteering, while Sennen, Gwithian, and Porthmeor Beaches offer excellent surfing conditions throughout the year. In Marazion, you’ll often see people making the most of the sweeping seas in Mount’s Bay with some kitesurfing, while Perranuthnoe beckons for kayakers and paddleboarders looking to explore the coast. And for those who like to see what’s going on beneath the waves, West Cornwall is full of exciting snorkelling locations, from Prussia and Lamorna Cove to Porthcurno and Porthminster Beach.

Art galleries - Home to some of the most renowned art schools in Cornish history, West Cornwall is infinitely connected to the art world, whether you’re a painter yourself or a historian looking to explore Cornwall’s past through pictures. Penzance and Newlyn share a special connection to Cornwall’s artistic heritage, with several galleries showing off a mix of historic and contemporary works. Head to Penlee House for a walk through time or Newlyn Art Gallery and the Exchange for a more modern blend. St Ives is another cultural hotspot, with iconic galleries such as the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden promising a deep dive into the area’s most prominent artists.

Museums - West Cornwall also boasts excellent museums, which delve into the area’s rich history. PK Porthcurno looks at Cornwall’s role in global communications, including the first undersea telegraph cable, which arrived in Porthcurno over 150 years ago. St Ives and Helston both feature lovely community museums, while places like Geevor Tin Mine and Penlee House Gallery and Museum explore Cornwall’s industrial past.

Shopping - With bustling towns such as St Ives and Penzance promising a variety of independent shops, there’s always a chance for some retail therapy when staying in West Cornwall. Visit St Ives for cobblestone streets lined with surf stores, fudge shops, and boutiques, or Penzance for books, vintage shops, and local artisanal clothes and gifts. A picture-perfect harbour village, Porthleven boasts several art galleries, independent shops, and gift shops, as well as the beloved Shipyard Market, where artists and local food producers sell everything from jewellery to hot sauce.

Beach saunas - Whether you want to warm up quickly after your sea swim, or your muscles could do with some R&R after a holiday full of clifftop rambling, West Cornwall’s sea-view saunas invite you to unwind in style. Sit back and relax in the essential-oil-infused climes before kickstarting your system with a cold plunge or refreshing shower - the ultimate way to embrace hot and cold therapy! With saunas in St Ives, Porthleven, Newlyn, and Hayle, you’re spoilt for choice for your next steamy visit.

Boat trips - If you want to see Cornwall from a different perspective, we heartily recommend booking a boat trip. Departing from either St Ives or Penzance, these salt-kissed excursions tour West Cornwall’s captivating coast by sea, giving you the chance to spot seals, dolphins, and even whales, all while basking in the beauty of granite cliffs and turquoise waters.

Vineyards, breweries, and distilleries - Cornwall is home to many unique boozy experiences, but visiting the source has to be one of our favourite pastimes. For a grape day out, head to Polgoon Vineyard for a seriously mouthwatering selection of Cornish wines and ciders overlooking Mount’s Bay. Stop by St Ives Brewery’s top-notch taproom in Hayle for a hoppy afternoon tasting your way through a variety of lagers, ales, and stouts. To really get into the spirit of things, book a gin tasting at Pocket Full of Stones in Penzance, where you’ll try a seemingly bottomless selection of gins, rums, and other spirits while learning all about the art of botanicals and distillation.

Beaches in West Cornwall

Pack your snorkel and sun cream; nothing beats a beach day in West Cornwall, whether you’re after some surf or somewhere spectacular to sit and relax.

Porthcurno Beach - With towering granite cliffs on either side and sprawling views down the coast towards Logan Rock, Porthcurno Beach has to be seen to be believed. At low tide, you can pop round to see Pedn Vounder, another of Cornwall’s beautiful beaches, or climb the steps to explore the Minack Theatre.

Carbis Bay - Carbis Bay’s arc of white-gold sand and turquoise waters creates a subtropical paradise you simply won’t want to leave. The sheltered aspect and host of amenities along the shore make this a favourite with families, especially in the summer when lifeguards patrol the beach.

Lamorna Cove - West Cornwall is lined with hidden coves, and Lamorna has been a favourite for centuries, inspiring countless artists and poets. With its ancient harbour walls and rugged cliffs, the cove paints a rather pretty picture, made all the more tempting when the sun turns the waters bright blue. Swim, scuba dive, or sit and soak up the raw natural beauty.

Porthmeor Beach - St Ives boasts many incredible beaches, but Porthmeor often takes the cake, especially for surfers. It’s backed by the striking Tate St Ives art gallery, as well as a fantastic Mediterranean-inspired restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food overlooking the beach (it’s particularly good for sundowners in summer and autumn).

Prussia Cove - Once a popular haunt for smugglers, Prussia Cove is now beloved by all for its beautiful location and curious rockpools. Dog-friendly year-round, this beach is great for families as there are lots of rocks to explore, and the surrounding coast is perfect for snorkelling. It’s a bit of a walk from the car park, so pack a picnic and make a day of it.

The Towans - The name given to the giant expanse of sand created when Hayle, Gwithian, and Godrevy beaches merge at low tide, The Towans is the go-to beach for sandy strolls. With cafés perfectly placed at each end, you can fill your boots (literally) with sandy adventures along the beach and dunes before stopping for one of the ultimate hot chocolates from Kabyn Café.

Sennen Cove - Sennen Cove and neighbouring Gwynver Beach are two of the best places to surf in West Cornwall. Both spots promise excellent conditions throughout the year, with Sennen adding a dose of luxury with sea-view eateries and showers for those who like to de-sand as soon as possible. Gwynver is a touch wilder and is only accessible from the South West Coast Path or some rather steep steps from the car park.

Praa Sands - A firm family favourite, Praa Sands boasts a merry mix of sand, sun, and surf, with lifeguards in the summer and an excellent beachfront café and bar for ice creams, pizzas, and proper Cornish beers. The beach at the eastern end is often much quieter, while the vibrant section in front of the car park boasts easy access to the amenities.

Walking in West Cornwall

South West Coast Path - With the South West Coast Path on your doorstep, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to stretching your legs during your stay. It’s almost impossible to pick favourites, but there are definitely some stretches of coast that hold a special place in our hearts. The walk from Prussia Cove to Perranuthnoe is great for dog walks, with a mix of dog-friendly beaches and cafés ensuring the whole family has a memorable time. For drama, Lamorna Cove boasts buckets in both directions, whether you choose to head towards Mousehole or west past the Tater Du Lighthouse. Land’s End promises a host of walking opportunities, while the stretch between Zennor and St Ives beckons with a wild mix of secluded bays and undulating coastal paths (best enjoyed with a pasty ready to go).

Woods - Nothing beats a dappled stroll, especially in autumn when the trees are showing off their coppery canopies. A stone’s throw from Gwithian, Tehidy Woods Country Park is the perfect place to enjoy a woodland wander, with lots of squirrels scurrying about and a lovely café serving exceptional coffees and cakes. For a wilder feel, head to St Loy Woods, where bluebells carpet the ground in spring, and a winding path leads you to a boulder-strewn cove, or Trevaylor Woods near Penzance for mossy trees and storybook picnic spots.

Moors - West Cornwall might be known for its spectacular coast, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a moorland walk during your stay. Penwith Moors are as old as they are beautiful, with rambling views towards the coast on a clear day. For a blend of history and jaw-dropping views, the walk from Sancreed to Carn Euny takes in some of the area’s most fascinating sites, including an ancient village and fogue, holy wells, and a Celtic churchyard. On the other coast, Zennor Moors provide a spectacular backdrop to the scenic coastline, with granite boulders, towering tors, and prehistoric sites peppering the landscape. The best way to explore? Follow The Tinners Way, an 18-mile route that traverses Penwith’s rolling moorland from St Ives to Cape Cornwall.

Accessible walks - For those looking for a wheel-friendly walk, West Cornwall is home to a number of picturesque accessible routes. The most famous is the stretch between Marazion and Mousehole, which passes Penzance’s sleek promenade and offers glorious views across the bay and plenty of opportunities for an ice cream along the way. Another firm favourite is King George V Memorial Walk in Hayle. Trailing alongside the Copperhouse tidal pool, this flower-lined path is wonderfully level, making it perfect for family-friendly strolls with lots of places to sit and soak up the views. High tide is the best time to visit if you want shimmering waters, but it’s also stunning at first light.

Places to eat in Cornwall

Dining out in West Cornwall has to be one of the greatest joys of any stay, whether you love an epic full Cornish breakfast, a cream tea piled high with jam and clotted cream (yes, in that order), or a memorable evening enjoying Michelin recommended fare overlooking the ocean.

The Old Coastguard, Mousehole - Featured in the Michelin Guide for its spectacular setting overlooking the sea and mouthwatering menu, The Old Coastguard is a firm favourite, whether you’re looking for an intimate dinner with someone special or a week-defining Sunday lunch.

Porthmeor Beach Café, St Ives - Sea views, cocktails, and tapas; Porthmeor Beach Café really does have it all. Stop by for a light breakfast before hitting the surf, a tasty tapas lunch, or a Med-inspired dinner as the sun sinks behind the horizon.

The Mussel Shoal, Porthleven - One of Cornwall’s hidden foodie gems, The Mussel Shoal is a relaxed place you can kick back with a pint of Cornish lager and a bowl of dirty fries, and soak up the pretty setting of Porthleven harbour, all while a carefully curated playlist fills the air.

45 Queen Street, Penzance - Boho chic vibes and cool, creative menus await at 45 Queen Street. Think relaxed breakfasts, seasonal lunches, and suppers made all the better for a colourful cocktail. Oh, and they’re super dog-friendly, so the whole pack can enjoy the visit!

The Cabin Beach Café, Perranuthnoe - Another dog-friendly place to eat in West Cornwall, The Cabin boasts an incredible location just above the beach. Snag a table outside and settle down to a hearty lunch or toothsome Cornish cream tea. They also have a great selection of ice creams, which are best enjoyed on the beach or coast path.

Gurnard’s Head, Zennor - Michelin recommended and set against Penwith’s wild and beautiful coastline, the iconic yellow pub, The Gurnard’s Head, is hard to beat. The menu is centred around fresh, local ingredients, with breakfasts to die for (the Turkish eggs are our top pick ). Roaring fires in the winter and a lovely beer garden for summer make this a year-round favourite.

Argoe, Newlyn - Celebrating Newlyn’s historic connections with the sea, Argoe serves fresh seafood from the harbour outside, ensuring a true taste of Cornwall with every visit, whether you opt for mussels, hand-dived scallops, monkfish, or chips (Cornish potatoes also deserve celebrating, after all).

The Mexico Inn, Long Rock - A pub with a culinary heart, The Mexico Inn has perfected Cornish dining. The bar is well stocked with local favourites, while the menu offers a selection of tasty bar snacks and button-popping mains, from beer-battered fish and chips to delicious homemade pies with mash and gravy.

Dog-friendly West Cornwall

However you like to holiday, West Cornwall has you totally covered for pup-approved adventures.

Dog-friendly beaches - There are plenty of dog-friendly beaches in West Cornwall, ensuring you can get your fix of the sea with your salty sea dog by your side. In St Ives, Bamaluz Beach welcomes dogs, while Porthkidney Beach just outside has plenty of space for sandy zoomies. Other dog-friendly beaches include Gwynver, Porthcurno, Gwithian, and Hayle Towans. During the summer, dogs are welcome on all coastal beaches in West Cornwall before 10am and after 6pm. However, dogs are completely banned from Hayle Estuary, including Copperhouse Pool and Carnsew Pool, to protect the birdlife.

Dog-friendly attractions - There’s no need to leave the dog behind when exploring West Cornwall, as many of the area’s top attractions are thrilled to welcome furry visitors. Tour the beautiful gardens of Minack Theatre or Trengwainton with your dog on a lead, or head to Geevor Tin Mine for a spot of history. Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens loves dogs, with plenty of paths to sniff during your visit, while the Jubilee Pool holds its famous Dog Day at the end of the season each year, inviting you and the pooch to dive into the action together.

Dog-friendly places to eat - Dining out with the dog is incredibly easy in West Cornwall, whether you’re in the mood for coffee and cake or a full Sunday lunch. In Zennor, The Gurnard's Head and Tinner’s Arms both welcome dogs and have roaring fires for extra cosy visits, while the Scoff Troff Café in St Ives invites you to tuck into hearty breakfasts with the hound by your side. The Cabin in Perranuthnoe is perfect for dogs who like to snooze in the sun, and the Dog and Rabbit in St Just promises everything from brunch to lunch, with plenty of chips to “accidentally” fall on the floor for your canine companions.

Prettiest Towns and Villages in Cornwall

St Ives - With one of the most instantly recognisable harbours in Cornwall, it’s easy to see why St Ives has been the centre of artistic focus for centuries. Home to several white sandy beaches, lots of independent shops, and a seriously mouthwatering selection of restaurants, pubs, and cafés, St Ives really does have it all. Visit for beach days, arty afternoons, and boat trips to see the local marine wildlife up close.

Penzance - Whether you love strolling around art galleries, lounging in cafés, or walking along the coast marvelling at the iconic visage of St Michael’s Mount as you go, Penzance has something for everyone. Enjoy beautiful gardens, refreshing dips in the lido, and shopping aplenty - we particularly recommend exploring Chapel Street, where quirky architecture and curious shops await.

Newlyn - One of Cornwall’s most famous fishing villages, Newlyn is the place to be for any seafood lover. Visit Argoe or Mackerel Sky Seafood Bar for delectable dining, or stop by Aunty Mays for one of the best Cornish pasties around. And for any screen junkies out there, Newlyn Filmhouse invites you to watch the latest flicks in true style.

Mousehole - Whether you visit in summer for sunny strolls along the coast (with a picnic full of goodies from the local deli, of course) or winter when the iconic harbour is lit up with an incredible array of Christmas lights, Mousehole is the perfect holiday destination whatever the season.

Porthleven - A foodie hotspot with one of Cornwall’s top food festivals and gateway to the Lizard Peninsula, Porthleven is for those who fancy a pint with a pretty special view. The historic harbour and clock tower set the scene, inviting you to sit back and relax at one of the harbourside pubs, or clamber onto the coastal path for a salty stroll. In winter, there’s no better place to see the storms, while summer promises seafront shopping followed by an Ann’s pasty.

Sennen - Surfs up at Sennen, one of the best beaches in Cornwall to hit the waves. Not only does the sandy beach promise consistent surf throughout the year, but there are showers so you can wash off before heading to the pub for dinner with a view. A stone’s throw from Land’s End and boasting some beautiful walks, Sennen is for those who want to spend their time outside soaking up the beauty of West Cornwall.

Hayle - With easy access to the longest beach (well, technically beaches) in Cornwall, Hayle is a dog-friendly paradise. Stroll along the nearly 4-mile-long stretch of sand before heading to one of the many dog-friendly cafés around Gwithian and Godrevy for a cosy coffee and a wedge of cake. Hayle’s high street is also well worth a visit, with a selection of vintage, surf, and gift shops - not to mention a lip-smacking ice cream parlour for summer snacking.

Marazion - This pretty coastal village might be renowned for the castle that sits offshore, but there’s so much more to uncover during your stay. Pick up one-of-a-kind jewellery from the lovely art galleries, go wildlife watching near Marazion Marsh, or spend long, leisurely days sprawled out on the sun-warmed sands. And, of course, hop across the causeway to see Cornwall’s iconic St Michael’s Mount up close.

St Just - If you’re looking for a secluded spot to unwind during your holiday in West Cornwall, St Just is just the place. Tucked away in the wilds of Penwith, a stone’s throw from the sea, this idyllic town has everything you need, including a welcoming pub, an excellent deli, and one of Cornwall’s most fascinating art galleries, the Jackson Foundation.

FAQs

What was filmed in West Cornwall?

Unsurprisingly, the BBC series Poldark found many of its spectacular backdrops in West Cornwall, from the dramatic mines around Botallack and St Just to the pretty stone slipway at Penberth. What wildlife can be seen in West Cornwall?

Home to a wonderful array of landscapes, West Cornwall is perfectly placed for spotting a plethora of wildlife. Mount’s Bay is one of the best places for spotting dolphins and sometimes even whales, with regular boat trips running through the spring, summer and autumn months. Grey and common seals can be found all along the coastline, although the stretch around Godrevy Lighthouse is particularly popular for spotting seals safely. The Lizard is one of the best spots in Cornwall for choughs, but West Cornwall boasts its hotspots too, with Land’s End and Botallack a favourite of this iconic Cornish bird. How to get to West Cornwall

Getting to West Cornwall from the north is wonderfully easy; simply stay on the A30 until you reach Hayle, where you can peel off for St Ives, or keep heading south for Penzance and West Penwith. If you’re coming from the east, the A394 from Helston will take you all the way to Penzance, where you can continue to Newlyn and Mousehole, or head inland to Porthcurno on the south coast, or Zennor on the north.

What is considered West Cornwall?

West Cornwall refers to the western leg of the county, which includes sections of the south and north coasts. Looking at a map, you can pretty much draw a line from Hayle to Porthleven, and everything to the left is considered West Cornwall.

This was the first time me and my family had been to Cornwall and we was not disappointed it was like going from home to home none of us wanted to leave it’s such a lovely place. Everything we could need was there and the decor was lovely had a really peaceful stay. I would recommend the property to anyone who was looking to stay in Cornwall..

Within easy access of Penzance, Newlyn, Marazion, Perranuthno (which has a great beach and two brilliant cafe-restaurants) and with parking for one modest size car, it is furnished beautifully with a private, sunny garden. We will definitely want to return.

We have had many properties over the past several years everyone has excelled in our expectations. Great team very friendly and professional. Our favourite place is still the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek even though our children are now 29 and 27.Thankyou so much .

The house was attractively arranged, very comfortable and thoughtfully resourced with plenty of kitchen utensils and crockery. It was about 15mins walk to a beautiful beach with access to a great Seaview cafe and good pub. On the negative side there was a lot more road noise then we had been expecting and parking, although off street, was tricky with a bigger car. we have a Toyota corolla estate and its quite a long car.

Thank you very much for your review. We were pleased to see that you found the property to be so comfortable and well equipped. As you've mentioned the beautiful Perranuthnoe beach is just a short walk away and we were delighted to see that you found The Cabin, they do some absolutely tremendous food with such a spectacular view. We do our best to advertise that the property is located by the main road in and out of the village, and therefore some noise maybe heard from the property, so we are very sorry if this wasn't as you were expecting. The parking is accessed via a narrow lane, so if you have a longer car then some careful manoeuvring maybe required when accessing the space, but we are glad that you managed to get in okay, as having an off road space of course provides some added peace of mind. Hoping to welcome you back again in the near future. Ben, Customer Services.

Glorious week at Trewinel, the weather was gorgeous, the cottage went beyond expectations and the local area was delightful. Thoroughly recommend the local beach and cafe and Sunday lunch at The Crown was really good. Will definitely be returning!

The cottage was just perfect for what we needed. It was so well equipped, like home from home. It was fantastic having the footpath just opposite the cottage so you could walk to the nearest beach. It took around 15 minutes and allowed you to have spectacular views of Saint Michael’s Mount. There were two great cafés by the beach and it was the perfect spot for my dogs to play.

Parking is tight, but once you got the hang of it my XC60 fitted in perfectly

Will definitely use this cottage again

Trewinel was the most amazing property we have ever stayed in! The owners had really thought of every little detail, it was so cosy and homely. It was just fantastic and we cannot wait to stay here again. Thank you for everything xxx

Its so rare to walk into a holiday property and immediately feel at home but Trewinel does exactly that. Its an extremely clean, beautiful, very tastefully decorated cottage and everything has been thought of. Blankets galore! As a family of 5 + a dog, we have a really wonderful, comfortable stay.

The garden is lovely and very secluded, a wonderful spot for a morning coffee.

It feels like the owners really care about your stay. The beds are very comfortable, there's a proper espresso machine and lots of modern touches as well as notes to help out around the property.

It's just a couple of minutes to drive to Marazion and only slightly further to access all the main supermarkets, shops etc in Penzance. It's a great location to get east/west/north to The Lizard, Porthleven, Porthcurno St Agnes etc.

The community is friendly, we even joined in the Halloween celebrations.

Getting in and out of the parking space is tight - but once you've got the hang of it, it's fine. We have a Volvo XC60 and we managed it pretty well and without any issues but that's probably the maximum size.

Highly recommend this property. We would love to return!

The location of this charming property was perfect for us, it meant we could drive to lots of different places, and different beaches all under 25 minutes. Very comfortable beds, the layout and decor of the property is gorgeous (although 6 people at this house would be challenging due to one bathroom). The driveway is tricky and very tight, so make sure you measure your car so that you don’t get stuck! We would love to come again as it’s a little gem!! See you again next year!!

Thank you very much for your review. We were delighted to see that you found the property to be so comfortable and with a location that was perfect for getting out each day and exploring. While you're closer to the south coast of Cornwall, you're only a short drive from the north coast, so you can easily pick between both when it comes to those beach days. The driveway can be a little tight, depending on your vehicle, measuring 2.75m at its narrowest point, so if guests do have concerns, then as you've suggested, it is always worth checking the dimensions of your car before booking. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Ben, Customer Services.

We absolutely loved our holiday cottage is was bigger and better than what we expected! It had everything we needed and more and the lovely welcome hamper was a nice touch. The location was amazing only a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach and we went to st Ives a few times on the train from st erth which was a 10 minute drive from the cottage. The staff at aspire were amazing we asked for some fans and some got delivered within an hour or so of me calling. We will definitely be back again Thankyou so much

Great location not far from Penzance, the cottage had so many little details to it that it showed a lot of effort had been put into it - there were welcome sweets, books about Cornwall, decorations were tasteful and a kitchen to die for... everyone including the little ones were really pleased with our stay, shame we had to leave!

Had amazing time at Trewinel. Would highly recommend. The property is beautiful and location was perfect to visit lots of lovely destinations e.g. Michaels mount, beaches. The owners were really friendly and helpful.

Stunning cottage with literally EVERYTHING provided, even down to things I would never have thought of !! Fabulous base for exploring the West of Cornwall and even better, next to the best cake shop ever !!!! What more could you ask ??

Had a wonderful time at Trewinel. A lovely welcome pack made us feel right at home - and what a beautiful home it was. Clean and inviting and looked amazing - especially with the wonderful artwork on the walls, created by the owners themselves. All the amenities you could ever need had been provided (with plenty of huge fluffy towels), and there was even enough fuel for a couple of fires in the wood burner - very welcome when it's raining outside. Perfect spot to explore Cornwall, highly recommended! (NB. If you do find it difficult to get a bigger car into the parking space, I think there are spots further up the road that could be used instead - don't let it put you off visiting this lovely cottage.)

Loved the attention to detail from the owners. Ranging from the little notes they left, lovely local hamper on arrival, beautifully smelling diffuser’s , which made a welcoming smell on arrival, very nice crockery, bedlinen, towels, pillows, throws, cushions, all giving luxurious feel to the property.

The location was perfect for us, as we could go for local walks to the coastal path, and we did a nice walk from Perranthnoe Beach having stopped at the cabin for breakfast, to Praa Sands. We also ventured further a field to Gwithian, St Ives, Carbis Bay, Mousehole, the lizard, and Porthcurno. We visited Polgoon vineyard, and also got a takeaway pizza from there one evening which was lovely. We went to the local Victoria Inn for an evening meal which was super. Overall a lovely Property in a good location and would stay again. Nice enclosed garden too.

A beautiful property in a beautiful part of the country. Home from home comforts, with lots of things to see and do nearby. Highly recommend.

A beautiful homely cottage which was much larger than expected. The location is perfect for exploring West Cornwall. I would definitely go back.

A lovely property that matches the description provided on the Aspects website, the owners have provided everything you need to make your stay very comfortable going above and beyond what is normally expected for a holiday let.

Lovely cottage, had a wonderful week. Very homely and so well equipped. We loved the artwork and the personal touches. We definitely recommend this cottage!

Fantastic property in a lovely location. Great for exploring West Cornwall. The cottage was so much larger than expected and very well equipped.
