Cornwall is England’s most coastal county and with nearly 300 miles of coastline, it’s not hard to see why. Rugged coastlines, fresh sea air and unrivalled sea views are just a few of the things that encourage people to the coast.

1. Cove Cottage

Situated in the National Trust grounds of Priest’s Cove, the wild rugged peninsula on the west coast, Cove Cottage is about as coastal as you can get! Positioned right next to the coast path, guests staying here can enjoy a coastal stroll or a long ramble whenever they please. Sleeping four, this property also has parking, so you can leave the car and head off on your adventures by foot, or explore further afield for the day. There’s also a fantastic terraced area overlooking the cove, perfect for those balmy evenings, and a wood burner for cosier winter nights. The local area is steeped in mining history and much of the local landscape has been recently used in the filming of BBC’s Poldark.

2. Chy Ryn, Sennen

Chy Ryn commands the furthest westerly position in Sennen Cove. Set in two acres of gardens it offers a rugged solitude, yet is just moments from the amenities at Sennen Cove. With direct access onto the South West Coast Path from the bottom of the driveway, keen walkers will love the location of this property. Perched above Porth Chapel Cove, and with a nearby path adjoining the South West Coast Path, Heatherlands really is all about location location location. Enjoy views of the rugged coastline and endless sea from almost every room. Sleeping six, Heatherlands has the benefit of a cliff side garden (where it would be easy to pass away many hours taking in the views), parking and a wood burner (perfect for those wintery evenings). 4. Bonny Bank, Praa Sands

Positioned on the south coast above Praa Sands beach, Bonny Bank is nestled in its own tranquil space on this beautiful coastline. With breath-taking views from the terraced area and many of the rooms, guests can enjoy the coastal position without even leaving the property. 8. Pencarrow, Mevagissey

Perched right above Mevagissey Harbour, Pencarrow is an impressive property offering views across Fowey estuary and along the coastline. From Mevagissey, guests can walk the South West Coast Path in one direction to Charlestown, the historic harbour used in the filming of BBC’s Poldark, and in the other direction to the smaller village of Gorran haven.
