Aspects Holidays warmly invites you to book your stay at the Sea Hoss, where you can create cherished memories and relish the allure of Cornwall's coastal charm.

The second floor reveals a tastefully decorated, sun-drenched, open-plan reception room, that offers sweeping views of the inner harbour. Adjacent to this, a cozy snug awaits, perfect for indulging in some television, or curling up with a holiday novel. This level also offers a second entrance onto Cliff Street, a gateway to adventure. The top floor of The Sea Hoss cradles a bright and sunny twin bedroom, perfect for guests seeking a peaceful retreat as well as the cozy double bedroom, offering a snug haven for rest. Nestled between them, a bijou bathroom beckons with its luxurious rolled-top bath, where you can soak away your cares while gazing out at the panoramic views of Chapel Point. June 2024

Me and my wife and family stayed for one week and couldn’t be happier with The Sea Hoss as our chosen place to stay in Mevagissey. The Sea Hoss is the oldest house in Mevagissey as I found out when chatting with the old harbour master and his wife on one of my many walks around the harbour. The house is truly one of the nicest we have ever had the pleasure of staying in a truly beautiful place perfect in every way to just enjoy and relax. Me and my wife made our way down to the Fountain Inn at the end of our road and found our selves having a really great night listening to the Sea Shanty group and all the locals singing with such passion. Mevagissey will always hold a place in our hearts a truly beautiful place.

Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

Our small family of 3 stayed in The Sea Hoss over the May half term, and it was perfect in every way!

The cottage itself is in an amazing position overlooking the harbour and close to everything Mevagissey has to offer. The cottage has been restored beautifully with a combination of modern and traditional features/decor. There are exposed beams, a restored decorative pilchard store, well thought out lighting throughout, hotel standard bedding and beds, equipped with everything you need for a week long stay.

Our favourite feature was the barn style door, where you could spend many an hour getting lost watching harbour life with a cup of tea in hand.

We parked in the Willow car park, which was only a 5 minute walk away, and felt instantly welcomed to the village as the parking attendants we spoke to were all very friendly and helpful.

Mevagissey is a wonderful village, with beautiful scenic walks, friendly locals, great cafes, restaurants and shops, steeped in a wealth of history which is fascinating to learn about.

I'd definitely recommend The Sea Hoss and Mevagissey as a place to stay, and hope to be back for another visit in the future.

The Sea Hoss was perfect. It was modern in the details but it was oldy worldy in its overall design. From the wooden floors and beams to the spiral stair case. The stone walls. It was sympathetic to it origins and modernised just enough to relax and entertain. From the bathroom to the shower room. Kitchen to the snug living room. Awesome. The fact it sits alone and all windows look out on the bay is perfect. The noises of the early workers going out to fish and people cleaning up the day after the visitors before is a cracking alarm to get up and go for an early morning wander. Mevagissey was all the better for the Sea Hoss for us. We had a perfect time. There was lots going on and food was plenty. The good thing about the village is it has just enough to be normal. It hasn't been commercialised. Plenty of people love it for that. Will be coming back ?????? Dave and Jayne

This is a really lovely property - we had a great week in Mevagissey I would have liked a full length mirror though!!!

We have just returned from a lovely week staying at the “Sea Oss” which has an enviable position right on the harbour, which adds an excellent opportunity to observe the world go by. Every room has a view, which was great. The photos of the property are an accurate reflection and everything is of a high standard and great quality, immaculate and clean; the owners should be proud of their achievements. The outside raised seating area for the Sea Oss is at the end of building and is a lovely sun trap and a great addition to the property. Lots of local friendly people to chat with around the harbour & in the shops.

We parked in the Willow Car Park, which was a great spot and not too far to walk (approx 5-7 mins) to the harbour front and Sea Oss. We bought a weekly ticket and were told by the Attendant that we could come and go as we pleased during our stay, which we did go out for the day with the car and no problems. We did lots of walks from the harbour front and found great places to eat ie: One Polkirt Hill, Salamander and The Tea Cup Tearooms.

We would throughly recommend staying at the Sea Oss and are sure you will have just as an enjoyable time as we did.

We had a lovely week at The Sea Hoss! Just a few great things about it: beautiful location on the harbour, fabulous and interesting view from every window, comfy beds, great kitchen, interesting picturesque town. Would love to go back.

Wow, what a lovely and interesting property! Have stayed in a few places in Mevagissey and this is by far the best. Beautifully decorated and bright, all the furniture is comfortable. It was so relaxing and each room has wonderful views. The location is right on the harbour which is fab. Lovely welcome basket on arrival and they even had bowls, treats and towels for our dog which was thoughtful. Two bathrooms with showers was a bonus and I thought the screen you could put across the spiral staircase was a clever touch for dogs and children. We'll definitely be booking this place again

The Sea Hoss offers perfect accommodation directly on the harbour with stunning views. Very comfortable sofa and beds, well equipped kitchen and exceptionally clean. This is our third visit and the property never disappoints.

We have stayed in many properties in Mevagissey but this is by far the best property we have stayed in for location and cleanliness, and is very well equipped. We would highly recommend staying in this property.

We booked with Aspects Holidays who looked after us 100%. We will definitely be booking this property again.

A beautiful cottage in an amazing location - this was our 3rd visit and just as lovely as on previous trips. Immaculately clean, very comfy bed and sofa and a mesmerising view. Probably the best holiday home in Mevagissey!

Beautiful property just as the photos show. Very clean and comfortable. Our dog was made to feel welcome too. Very well equipped and the electric aga cooked our meals lovely every night apart from eating out once. Parking on the main car park was straightforward and we managed to drop our bags off with no problem. There is a shop and fruit and veg shop but lobb’s farm shop was only a very short drive away. We walked into Portmellon, Pentewan and Gorran Haven. Fantastic views of seals and dolphins along the coast path to Chapel point.

We have just spent an enjoyable 5 nights staying in the Sea Hoss. The property is beautifully furnished and very unique. The position of the house is idyllic, perfect for watching the comings and goings in the harbour and minutes away from a multitude of restaurants, pubs and takeaways. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The Sea Hoss is a really nice property and we were pleasantly surprised. The location is fantastic and the property has a nice quirky feel to it. The living areas and bathrooms were nicely decorated and clean and we particularly enjoyed opening the kitchen door (can also just open the top half), looking straight into the harbour watching the boats coming and going.

Whilst there we did a coastal walk to Pentewan which leads into the holiday park that has a restaurant / diner on the beach which was great. The walk was very steep in places, but the views were excellent. We also walked into Portmellon which was less steep and also has some very nice views.

There isn't any parking at The Sea Hoss but you can use the Willow Car and Coach park (has attendants during the day) which was about a 6 minute, flat walk with plenty of space for large vehicles. Our vehicle was parked there for 4 nights with no issues and you can come and go as you please.

Everything is on the doorstep at The Sea Hoss and the staff at Aspects were great so we wouldn't hesitate to return for another stay.
