What's on this October half term

So summer’s gone. Fret not, for Cornwall presents oodles of sunshine elsewhere with a fun and jam-packed schedule of things to see and do this October Half Term (23rd-27th October).

From outdoor adventure and family fun to literary-inspired excitement and Halloween-themed events, here’s just some of the highlights on offer this October in Cornwall…

Fal River Autumn Festival (19th-29th)

Celebrate the season in bracing style by exploring south Cornwall’s scenic woodlands with a huge variety of walks and events staged in and around the fabulous Fal River, from exhibitions and cookery courses to concerts, activities, art and Halloween-themed happenings.

Newquay Zoo Shriek Week  (21st-29th)

Enjoy the daily Creepy Crawlies Talk or face painting, embark upon the Shriek Week trail, tuck into spooky treats, and meet the animals.

Eden Project – Roald Dahl’s Halloweden 

Kids and adults will both delight in exploring the villains and characters from five of Roald Dahl’s favourite stories: The Witches, Fantastic Mr Fox, The Twits, The BFG and Matilda. Plus, there will be ice-skating and the Little Monsters’ Ball Halloween Disco (28th).

Dairyland Farm World (24th-30th)

From pumpkin carving and spooky craft workshops to the array of play areas, activities and interactive features, Dairyland will enthral visitors of all ages this half term.

Flambards – Halloween Tricks & Treats Firework Spectacular (21st-27th)

Relish the rides and attractions, along with oodles of things to do and the not-to-be-missed show-stopping spectacle: the dazzling fireworks displays on 25th.

Godolphin House (21st-29th)

Get involved with some exciting Hallowe’en Happenings including a special trail, face painting and spooky storytelling.

Halloweek at Lappa Valley (21st-29th)

In addition to the host of fantastic attractions, Lappa Valley will be serving up a schedule of fun including a Spooks Trail, colouring, fancy dress competition and Halloween quiz.

The Owl Prowl at Paradise Park (21st-29th)

Roam the Park’s grounds and follow the Owl Prowl trail for a sweet treat before watching the animals being fed on the Fun Farm.

Hair Raising Halloween Half Term at Land’s End (21st-27th October)

A host of entertainment awaits visitors to Land’s End, where kids can get crafty in the Halloween Craft Cavern and indulge their imaginations with ghost stories.

Hallowe’en Freak Week at Cotehele Mill (21st-29th)

The brilliant working Victorian watermill and beautiful wooded valley will present a children’s trail with treats, plus milling, baking and bevy of other entertainment.

Haunted Half Term at Pendennis Castle (23rd-27th)

Expect a lively range of fright-worthy fun courtesy of a ‘bone-chilling’ quest, spooky after-hours tours and spine-tingling tales of Pendennis’ pirate history.
