A lovely size property for a family of 4 and a dog, great location, about a 20 min walk into St Ives. Clean and fresh, lovely decor, and a great layout. Lots of information about the property and local area. There was even milk in the fridge ( very clean) and tea and coffee left for our arrival which was greatly appreciated! We were lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy the sun terrace at the end of the day. We will definitely return it this comfortable and cosy property

Location was very pretty and tranquil , the cottage was also lovely. Close to everything and also tucked away to escape the busy town. I specifically booked Garth Cottage for its patio area that was advertised only to arrive to the patio doors unable to open. The lock was broken which ruined the outside experience a bit. This should have been checked prior to our arrival and unfortunately we were unable to open the doors onto the patio. This was a bit of an inconvenience and a disappointment. Aspects tried to sort the problem out but the owner did not acknowledge my complaint or offer any kind of compensation or kind gesture towards this which I felt was unfair so unfortunately did not get value for money.

We were sorry to hear of this, and despite sending trades straight over, it required a part. The housekeeper carries out regular checks, but unfortunately things break and go wrong in properties from time to time as they do in our own homes, and whilst the outside area could still be accessed from the main entrance door as well as the other patio doors, we appreciate the disappointment. With the rest of the property being in full working order, good condition, and the outside area still easily accessible, the owner was not required to offer a refund. As third-party agents, we will always assist as much as possible, and were happy to put the request to the owner but ultimately it is the property owners decision on something like that. We hope that you still had a nice time here. Tanya, Customer Services
We had a lovely stay in Garth Cottage, I recommend this for a family or couple for any time of the year. We enjoyed shopping in the small local Cornish providers instead of bigger obvious supermarkets.
Mrs Jamieson Nov 2021
Good company, very good service and helpful.
Mrs Ellis Nov 2021
Fantastic property. All the comforts of home. Ideal location. Stayed in St Ives many many times and Garth Cottage is by far my favourite property.
Miss Booth Nov 2021
We absolutely love Garth Cottage! This was our second time staying here, and it didn’t disappoint! The property itself is well maintained, and has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday home - with beautiful field views from the garden. It’s close enough to the main town to walk (approx 25min), and only about 20 mins down to Carbis Bay beach which is a beautiful spot. Lots of lovely walks close by, and so much to see in the surrounding area. Thank you again for a wonderful holiday :)
Mrs Gadenne Oct 2021
Everything excellent about the Garth, well equipped for cooking and dining. A bit of a walk into town but not over excessive. In all excellent holiday.
Mr Baker Oct 2021
Garth Cottage is in a lovely , peaceful position above St Ives. It’s about 20 minutes walk into town , you can cut through Treloyhan Hotel gardens to the coastal path . Carbis Bay beach is nearer than Portminster . We didn’t cook much but it’s well equipped, should you choose to do so . Beds are comfy. We had a great stay , weather was wonderful .
Mrs FARRELL Sep 2021
What can I say, this place is perfect. The location was perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of everything but not too far to walk into St Ives (or take the bus) or the beach. Everything we needed was there, and things we didn't need too. Beds were really comfortable and the cottage was spotlessly clean. Games and jigsaws were provided, which were needed on rainy days! The garden was perfect, and our dog settled in straight away. I really hope that one day we will return. Amazing!!!
Mrs Heath Aug 2021
Lovely holiday house, away from the crowds but only a short distance into town. Everything you need for a great holiday!
Miss Pullen Jun 2021
Great property and location. Fully equipped with everything you need for a week.
Mrs Smith May 2021
We had a lovely stay in Garth Cottage. The location is perfect for walking into St Ives whilst having a rural outlook. It has good facilities and is perfect for dogs.
Miss Thomas May 2021
Fantastic cottage, brilliant facilities and so lovely to have a nature reserve and paths to be accessed from the front door.
Mrs Pocklington May 2021
Lovely cottage in a great location to walk to St Ives and the beaches. Well equipped with everything we needed. Our dog loved the enclosed garden. Would definitely recommend and will stay again next time we go to Cornwall.
Ms Baynes Oct 2020
We had a great week at Garth Cottage. Found the setting quiet but easy access to St Ives. Very comfortable and fully equipped. The cottage didn’t feel like a holiday let. Everything we could wish for.
Mrs Dunham Sep 2020
A rather under-stated property, this hidden gem was a perfect base for a wonderfully relaxed week away. It suited us really well to be located away from the hustle and crowds of St Ives, but still be able to walk down if we fancied it. Lovely footpaths through the nature reserve on our doorstep, and we thoroughly exploring the many wonderful beaches and coastline away from the town. The cottage itself was equipped to a high standard, we had everything we needed for a great break. It was a luxury to have our Cornish Food Box delivery waiting for us when we arrived too. Thank you Aspects
Mrs Haydon Jul 2020
Fantastic cottage situated in a great location ideal for dog owners. The cottage drools with a feel of relaxation providing comfort in a rural surrounding feeling safe and secure. I have stayed in both Garth Cottage and Garth Annex of which I would recommend both depending on family size. Garth Cottage in particular has an added advantage of an upper sun deck and garden. Rather a steep 40 mins walk when returning on foot from St Ives but is pleasant never the less.
Mr Platt Oct 2019
Garth Cottage was a beautifully presented, light and very clean property. The upstairs balcony is a great feature, somewhere to relax with a coffee and read the paper. It has a secure garden and is close to a lovely dog walking area on the hillside and there are some great dog friendly beaches close by. St Ives is a 20 minute walk away which suited us as we could leave the car parked at the property. There is a large Tesco a short distance away, and a pleasant dog-friendly pub serving food a short walk away. We would definitely return.
Mrs Fisher Sep 2019
After staying the previous week in another St Ives property, with fabulous views over the harbour in St Ives, Garth Cottage was just as lovely, but in a different way. It was within a short walk of beautiful woodland and Knill Steeple. The lane that Garth Cottage is situated on is really quiet and peaceful and just lovely to walk along. It was good that we could leave the car parked outside the cottage. We could walk into any part of St Ives with ease, though the return walk certainly had the effect of upping my fitness levels!!! ( Uphill of course!) There are regular buses from the Malakoff and of course taxis - both would be a good option for those people who don’t want to exert themselves too much. I would definitely stay in Garth Cottage again.
Mrs Stevens Jun 2019
This is our second time staying at Garth cottage, the property was clean comfortable with everything you could possibly need for your stay here, the property is just out of St Ives town but within walking distance to town, beaches and restaurants etc . It’s an added bonus having parking and a lovely secluded & secure garden for both the dogs and ourselves, with a lovely big table and plenty of chairs for dining alfresco. We will definitely return
Mrs Bowen Apr 2019
A floor plan would be a great bonus

Beautifully decorated cottage, perfect size for our family of 5. Great location in a peaceful setting. Very well equipped.
Mrs Brooke Sep 2018
Fabulous cottage. Location is perfect for a peaceful and private time. The decoration and specification of the actual cottage is a very high standard and everything you may need is catered for. Excellent and the best dog friendly cottage we have stayed in.
Mrs North Jun 2018
A well maintained, simply decorated, clean property; spacious, relatively peaceful location - probably preferable that holiday makers are willing to do some up hill walking
Ms Rix May 2018
Loved the cottage and the surrounding area, location was spot on for beach or rural. Nice to have the option of a BBQ, perhaps health and safety is an issue !

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are so pleased that you loved the cottage, the surrouding area and closeness to the beach. BBQ'a are not a standard item in a property, though some owners do provide them, it is the individual choice of the owner. If this is a facilitiy you would like in a property please do not hesitate to contact us before your next booking and we can see if this is provided in your chosen property. Lovely cottage and location. Had a great holiday here!
Mrs Jewell Jul 2017
Aspect Holidays are a great company to deal with, they were helpful before, during and after our trip away and it was the same for every employee of Aspect holidays that we dealt with. I would very much recommend Aspect Holidays to others and will definately be using them again. Thank you so much for making our holiday so enjoyable. Garth cottage was a superb property to stay at, it was only a short walk to st Ives harbour and had the benefits of parking next to the property and also a generous garden to use. The property itself also was way above our expectations, it was very clean and also presented to a very high standard. When we return to st Ives we will most definately be looking at returning to Garth cottage. Thank you for contributing to such an incredible week, both company and property were superb!!
Mr Armstrong May 2017
The cottage was perfect from the location to everything supplied, this is why we came back this year it was a real find. We are going to be a little quicker in re booking in future as Christmas 2017 has already been taken. The owners have thought of everything to make our stay special. Thank you
Mrs Penney Dec 2016
Garth cottage is in a lovely area easy access to st ives and Carbis bay the property is superb
Mr Blakesley Sep 2016
Great location and ideal for dog owners, with miles of footpaths immediately accessible from the property and a relatively easy walk, off the main road, into St Ives. Dog-friendy all year round, Porth Kidney Sands is only a short drive away for sea and sand. If you want restful relaxation away from it all, this is the place to be.
Ms Burn-Smith Aug 2016
We have booked it again for next year and looking forward to returning. First time I have stayed in a property that had all we needed, it gave value for money and made the holiday easy. Very tastefully done and the sofa was great. Perfect location to walk to either St Ives or Carbis Bay, with dog walks near by. So many little touches including board games for the kids.
Mr Lavis Aug 2016
Excellent location, clean and very well equipped, couldnt have wished for more, helped make our holiday perfect.
Ms Richards May 2016
Garth is an excellent and high spec place to stay but is let down by a shared heating system. If this was to be addressed I would be rating it as first class but at this time I would not book again do to this issue.
Mr Hingley May 2016
Reply from Aspects Holidays
Thanks for your feedback. There is a shared system there, but temperature can be controlled by individual radiators, with all instructions available in the property. There had been a problem with 1 of the radiators affecting the system at this time, but this has since been resolved, and further feedback is being closely monitored on this. Thank you again for getting in touch. Tanya, Customer Services.
Beautiful , well equiped and clean cottage . Quiet location , easy access to St Ives and Hayle with some lovely walks on your doorstep
Mr Palmer Feb 2016
Fantastic, well equipped cottage in quiet location with wonderful views which was a joy to return to after a busy day out and about. We all agreed that the settee was possibly the most comfortable settee ever! The uninterrupted WiFi was an added bonus and kept the teenagers happy. For once we've found a self catering cottage that ticks all of our boxes.
Mr Smith Sep 2015
