Shopping in St Ives
From books to jewellery to freshly made food, shopping in St Ives is a Cornish tradition thanks to the cobbled streets and independent shops that line them.
At the end of a terrace of traditional fisherman's cottages, Number Nineteen is a delightful, cosy place to base yourself whilst making the most of everything St Ives has to offer. You are a short stroll away from a huge choice of restaurants, independent shops and bars, or, for those who enjoy seeking out local produce to cook up a feast at home, there is a well equipped kitchen for you to create something tasty. The Tate and Barbara Hepworth sculpture gardens and museum are all nearby too, not to mention the wonderful beaches to take your pick from, depending on what it is you prefer doing; sheltered bathing or all day surfing! Number nineteen is a comfortable, cosy and welcoming cottage where you will feel completely at home.
one step into:
ground floor; stable doors lead from the quiet street into open plan living area with two sofas, electric woodburner effect fire, TV/DVD, folding dining table, 2 folding chairs, 2 dining chairs, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer compartment. Stairs to first floor bedrooms.
ground floor; shower, wash basin and WC.
double bed.
twin beds.
gas central heating, please note that there is no washing machine at the property, but a laundrette is approximately 300 yards away. Whilst the property does sleep four, it is best suited to a small family rather than four adults, and the stairs may not be suitable for those with limited mobility, as they are quite steep, WiFi, well behaved dog welcome .
Lovely little holiday cottage, perfect location, got everything you need, small and cosy but perfectly formed, great shower, ideal for 3 of us and a dog. We loved it. Aspects could not have been more helpful, can’t fault them.

Number Nineteen is a lovely and comfortable cottage. It is very close to shops and the beaches. Very quiet and had no issues around unloading the car and finding parking. It is a smaller cottage but for three friends we found it perfect. It had everything we needed and the personalised welcome pack was amazing. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend the cottage and Aspect Holidays.

Ms Englefield Jul 2023
Lovely cottage 5 minutes walk from the harbour and yet very quiet. Bright and welcoming . Will definitely return
Mr Beagley May 2023
This was a perfect cottage for a family of four, plus a dog, tucked away close to town and the local theatre, shops etc,. The cottage was well equipped and nicely decorated with an amazing power shower. The addition of complimentary coffee and tea was a welcome surprise. A small area outside to hang wetsuits and a tap was useful too. Altogether another lovely holiday in St Ives. We would definitely come back to this cottage.
Mrs Fulton Sep 2022
We had a lovely stay at Number Nineteen. It is a cosy little cottage perfect for those like us, who mainly use as a base whilst out exploring for the majority of the time. Comfortable beds and good location.
Mrs Gascoyne Aug 2022
Beautiful cottage located perfectly for St Ives Harbour. We had a fantastic week away. The only issue is parking. I’d avoid Barnoon car park and try Stenneck as we had more luck there and you don’t have the big hill to walk up. The cottage is very small downstairs especially bathroom and living room.
Mrs Wallace Jul 2022
Excellent location, literally a two minute walk to beaches, well equipped, very clean and thoughtfully laid out. Public Car park 5 minutes away (but up a steep hill). Lovely holiday with our dog.
Mr Childe Jun 2022
The cottage is very small and in my opinion it is not suitable for 4 people. Probably more suitable for a couple with no children or dogs as there is nowhere safe for them to do their business. The cottage wasn’t particularly clean when we arrived, which was disappointing. It is a good location to get your head down but we didn’t spend much time there as it’s uncomfortably small for a family of four.

We are so sorry to hear that the cleaning had not been to the high levels that you would expect. We would always want guests to arrive to the highest standards, but if ever something has been missed, we will always be very happy to arrange the owner's housekeeper to reattend and ensure that you are happy with everything so that you can get the most out of your time there. The cottage is quite small, so we do our best to show and describe its size in the photos and web description. We appreciate that it will not suit some parties of 4, but for others, this will work perfectly and will really be down to the individual parties requirements. The team here are always happy to discuss requirements before booking so that you can ensure that you are booking the best property to suit all your party's needs, so if you are ever looking to return, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. Nice property but very small! Fully equipped kitchen and nicely furnished. Stairs are very steep and narrow , beds were very hard and uncomfortable . Ideal location for the harbour front and town , parking at the property or near by is impossible with narrow streets and argumentative locals who don’t appreciate you parking outside their house, even to unload ! Ideal for couples , but not a family with small children or a large dog

We are sorry to hear this. It is not the norm to experience argumentative locals. Most are quite used to people making quick stops to unload, though won't be so patient with anyone parking up for longer periods, as it is a narrow street, with no passing space and double yellow lines. We always try to be as open and honest as possible, so whilst it can accommodate 4, with a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, 2 small sofas and dining seating available for 4, we try to show in the photos that it is a small space and highlight in the description that it may not suit all parties, as well as mentioning the steepness of the stairs. We are sorry if this is not what you were therefore expecting, as we would hate for anyone to be disappointed in what they arrive to. It can be very difficult to find a mattress that will suit everyone, and it is disappointing to hear that it was not to your preference. As there have been no other comments on this, we will monitor feedback for now. Thanks for taking the time to send in your feedback. Tanya, Customer Services
The property is in an excellent location near to the beaches , shops and restaurants. Barnoon car-park is close by , although up a steep hill. Quite a small property , useful as a base. Not particularly suitable for old or infirm people - the stairs are steep and there is no upstairs toilet or bathroom. The downstairs bathroom is small and shaving is a bit of a squeeze !
Mrs Blackmore Feb 2022
Love St Ives and love this cottage so much we have already booked our return visit for next year!! It is a beautifully maintained cottage within walking distance to the harbour and Fore street and all the fabulous restaurants and shops!
Miss Squire Nov 2021
Great cottage perfect for two adults and a dog. The description and previous reviews sum up the property perfectly. We would definitely look to stay at Nineteen again as such a great location .
Mrs King Oct 2021
Number nineteen is nestled in side street just minutes away from the centre. Great location but be prepared for some noise of people leaving pubs on a Friday and Saturday evening. Location of this place is outstanding and perfect. This is a small place so no more than 2 adults max aa the living area is small but cosy.
Mr Saye Sep 2021

We are glad that you enjoyed the location; although close to some pubs and a bit of footfall from those, it is a much more peaceful location than the streets that are right in the heart of the town near to the main streets and harbour front. Any cars going past tend to only be those living or staying in that area, so there is very little traffic in comparison to a lot of other areas in St Ives. The cottage is small, and we try to show this as clearly as possible on the website photos. Couples tend to find that it works great for space, but there are also many other parties of 4 who have found that it suited all their requirements. This will depend on individual parties and circumstances/what you are bringing with you/what space you are used to at home etc. We do hope that the space was what you had expected from the online photos and description and that you had a great time here. We loved our week in St Ives. Number 19 is ideally located to explore all that St Ives has to offer.
It is snug for 4 people and we would perhaps look for a little more room next time. We did however thoroughly enjoy our stay.
Mr Murphy Aug 2021
Lovely place. Close to town. Very clean.
Mr Sherrock Jul 2021
Number 19 is like a home away from home, a short walk and you are in the harbour and fore street, amenities like co op are around the corner and trenwith car park a short walk away with affordable rover ticket only costs £47 for the week!! Already booked for next year!!!
Miss Squire Nov 2020
Really happy. Is as described and seen in photos. For a couple it was perfect. Quiet street, close to town and car parks.
Mr Rainford Oct 2020
Very clean. Relaxing accommodation. Close to everything in St Ives. Very quiet location and close to car parks. Could not fault anything.
Mrs Roberts Sep 2020
Small and cosy cottage in a fantastic location, five minutes into town centre.
Mr Gillett Aug 2020
The cottage was in an excellent location for St Ives- tucked slightly up the hill so not too noisy but a 5-minute walk to the beach. It was reasonably well equipped, but I would definitely argue that it’s not a cottage for 4- we were two adults, a toddler and a dog and found it a squeeze! Best suited for a couple.

Thank you for your comments and it is great to hear how much you liked the location of this property. You get to be in the heart of it all but without all of the traffic and footfall that you will experience in many other parts. A lot of the more traditional Fishermans Cottages in St Ives can be quirkier and smaller than what we are used to in more modern homes, and Number Nineteen is definitely on the smaller side, but with a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, there are beds and seating to fit 4 in Number Nineteen. It may not work for everyone though, so we try to be as open and honest as possible with this within the photos and descriptions. We hope that we have achieved that in this case and that it suited all members of your party. Tanya, Customer Services
Lovely cottage in convenient location .... small, cosy with everything you need. Stairs are extra steep and narrow so maybe not suitable for young children / elderly as bathroom is downstairs and potentially hazardous if you get up in the night. However, would definitely recommend No. 19.

Thank you for your comments and it is great to hear how much you liked Number Nineteen. Traditional fishermans cottages like this are packed full of character inside and out, but often with this character, you can find that they can be a little smaller, with layouts/stairs more quirky and steeper than in more modern buildings, so it is definitely an important consideration when booking a property like this. We always try to be as open and honest as possible, and try to give an accurate representation of properties within our photos, so we hope that we have achieved that in this case, with a statement about the stairs in the additional information. We hope that you enjoyed everything that this cottage had to offer, and hopefully we will see you back here soon. Tanya, Customer Services.
Number 19 is an excellent little cottage ideally placed for exploring all of St Ives. Our family of 2 adults, a 10 and 12 year old really enjoyed our week. The cottage is small but extremely well equipped and was perfect for our stay. Comfortable beds with clean, quality, pillows, bed linen and towels provided.
Miss Dinham Aug 2019
An amazing holiday, thank you.
Miss Embley Aug 2019
You will not be disappointed on booking this adorable little cottage. Great location close to beaches, shops & all amenities. Suitable only for a couple or small family. Enjoyed our stay over the Christmas period.
Mr Ashman Jan 2019
Number Ninteen is a lovely cottage in a great location. Although it sleeps four it is very small which didn’t bother us but it is worth considering for larger groups/ families. The cottage is complete with everything you will need for a week away. Highly recommend!
Miss Bancroft Jan 2019
We love St Ives and we love Number Nineteen; we'll return!
Mr Pickton Sep 2018
The cottage was compact, clean and convenient for access to both the town and the car parks. An excellent location.
Mr O`Donohue Jul 2018
Lovely cosy and tidy cottage, perfectly located, a five minutes walk to the beaches and the village - we were there with two teenagers, and although it is small we never felt confined. We would highly recommend it!
Mrs Eggenschwiler Jul 2018
Excellent location, close to shops, restaurants and beaches. Cottage was just as described and lived up to our expectations. Very clean and good facilities. Biscuits and pint of milk was a welcome bonus. Loved our stay and will definitely be back
