Lovely house in great location. Works really well for large family, would love to visit again.

August 2024

This house was brilliant for our family. We had the best time. The location is absolutely fantastic, only a 5 minute walk to Porthmeor beach, the High st and the Tate, and only a couple more minutes to the harbour. The views from the house are incredible. The house is very well equipped.

The only down point was the climb back up the hill from St Ives and Porthmeor beach, which was too much for my mother. But we were aware of this when booking.

The surfing at Porthmeor Beach was great. Some of us walked the coast path to Zennor and had a very good pub lunch at the Tinners.

Would stay again if visiting St Ives.

Another wonderful holiday in St Ives and once again Captain's House provided us with a comfortable and relaxed base. It really is the perfect holiday house for our multi generational family holiday. It is so well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and kitchen ware that it really is a home from home. We love it and will be back next year! Pam Lund

Had a great holiday at Captains House. Great position and lovely views. Very well equipped and nicely done up. Clean and spacious place to stay.

Lovely house in a great location, views are spectacular! What the pictures and description don’t express is just how spacious this house is…. perfect for large families! we didn’t want to leave!

Captains house had everything for a comfortable, characterful home from home. Had a fantastic week with plenty of space for 3 families and cars.

Absolutely stunning property. 7 of us (5 adults and 2 teens) stayed here and it had everything we needed! The views are incredible, we loved that there were some original features still in the house (even had a mysterious visitor making the servant bells buzz and move when nobody was in the rooms it said!). The beds were all really comfy, the lovely welcome pack was much appreciated after a long drive down and day before we could gain access, and the fact that there was room for both cars on the drive outside the property made life so much easier than we've had in other properties without parking. We've already talked about coming back as we all enjoyed it so much.

Lovely house, space for all, beautiful views, easy walk to the beach great house for extended family to spend time together. We had a great week. Helped by beautiful weather we were lucky!

Just spent a lovely week in Captain's House. This spacious house easily fitted in our multi generational family of 10. The kitchen facilities and bathrooms were first class and the lounge and bedrooms were warm and comfortable. It was like a home from home.

This property is so well equipped, especially in the kitchen, but there was indoor games, beach equipment and a wonderful selection of books! Something for everyone. We loved it!

Great location for mixed family groups with plenty of options. Lovely house. Would come again.

Great house but needs a little love in replacement items

Captain's House is an ideal location for exploring the 3 main St Ives beaches. It worked really well for our extended family group, offering spacious, well equipped accommodation. We had an excellent holiday and the weather was glorious- an added bonus! Parking for two cars is OK but if you have additional cars it can be a problem finding space in the nearby car park.

Another lovely holiday in St Ives; sea air , good food and beautiful beaches.

Excellent support and services. Lovely house with plenty of room, well equipped and parking.

I’ve stayed in Captain’s House many times over the past 14 years & I absolutely love it, as do my family. It’s a very comfortable house, well equipped & we feel very much at home there. The views are spectacular from the house & the town & St Ives’ many beaches are within easy reach.

Captain’s House is a great house full of history and character in a fabulous location above Porthmeor. Going to sleep to the sound of the waves is priceless. Quick and easy beach and town access. Parking for two vehicles was a godsend. The owners provided lots of amenities to make for a comfortable stay. It was a memorable stay for two families and we will be back.

An excellent well equipped holiday home in a superb location.

Captain’s House was perfect for our mixed age group. It’s more spacious than the photos suggest and there are plenty bathrooms. The front rooms have tremendous views. And despite the uphill climb back it really is very close to both Porthmeor Beach and to the centre of St Ives. A great holiday location and a great team at Aspects.

The Captain's house is in a great location, with great views over Porthmeor Beach and the coastal footpath. The sunset views are amazing. The house is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable with plenty of room for a large family. The parking is a real bonus, as is the rear courtyard as a BBQ/entertaining space. We loved it and wouldn't hesitate to return to this lovely property.

Captains house is an excellent property, which is well situated overlooking Porthmeor Beach. It has everything you'll need for a great stay including parking and a back yard.

The house is spacious, comfortable and has a flexible layout. This includes a bathroom on each floor. The kitchen is well equipped too and provides all the necessary equipment if you want to cook at the property.

The only challenge worth a mention is, if you're thinking of booking Captains House it's located at the top of a fairly steep hill.

Lovely house with stunning views. Very easy and comfortable to live in. Close to the town, harbour and beach. It’s a very steep climb back up for anyone with any mobility difficulties.

Not the first time for us in St Ives, but the first time in Captain's House. We loved it and will certainly be back!

Captains house is Fabulous ,light and airy ,spacious with great views.its also very cosy on those wild weather days, chopped wood provided for the woodburner ! You can walk to the beach at porthmeor in 5 minutes ,be on the harbour in 10 ,close to all art galleries and shops. If you don't feel like going out grab the binoculars provided and just look out to sea ,perfect. Been coming to st ives for years ,stayed in many properties and this is definitely the best!

We had a lovely holiday at Captains House. We were 3 generations but there were plenty of shower facilities and seating. Enjoyed sharing family meals round the large tables. Wi-fi a bit slow but adequate. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again. .

This house is great for families sharing a property. There is plenty of shared living space for meals, games and sitting together. The house has lovely views overlooking Porthmeor beach and the Atlantic, and is also very well placed for walking into town, visiting the Tate or other beaches.

Lovely house with well equipped kitchen. We had six adults and three children under 5 never felt cramped. Gorgeous views over the beach. We had a really lovely holiday and the house is very close to centre of St Ives. Only difficulty was parking there is room for two small cars so our third car had to go on long stay car park which we knew before arrival, however it was hard to get on the car park again if you'd been out for the day .

It was great to hear how much you liked Captain's House and how well it worked for all of you. Unfortunately none of the long stay car parks guarantee spaces, so it can mean moving around between car parks during your holiday, though you can get a rover ticket that covers most of these for a set price for the week. There are also a couple of private parking options but they would be quite a distance from this property, but if this is something that you may find useful if you are ever looking to return; please do get in touch so that we can give you further information. We booked the Captain's House for three families to share over the half term. The large living space and large kitchen worked well, and helped provide a lovely sense of house community for those times when we came together for meals and to play games. All the rooms are light and airy and the original features make the house feel homely and give it character. The views across Porthmeor Beach are fabulous.

Loved the views. Perfect location for us and perfect house for those wanting to surf often - getting up and looking out the window to check the waves was brilliant - could even see the kids surfing from our bedroom window. Very easy house to be in, lots of space for all. Nice bath to ease away the aches and pains post surfing! Lovely sociable living spaces which worked well for adults and teens. We'll definitely consider booking this house again - we had a fab time. Loved our stay, fab house.

Had a wonderful stay in this beautiful spacious house. Great location to access St Ives.
Would definitely love to stop here again.

Overall we were happy with the house and have booked it again for 2020.

Spacious accommodation in prime location Fantastic sea views Great base for a large family or 2/3 small families to share

Captain’s House was a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful views and 5 minutes from all St Ives has to offer. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed and more than accommodated 8 adults. We will definitely be back!

100% recommend this house to everyone. All needs catered for. Really was home from home. The owners have done a fantastic job to make sure you have everything you need. Just gutted it's already booked for next year!

Fantastic sea views overlooking Porthmeor Beach and great access to the beach for our little family.

Great location, very spacious for a couple of families. Amazing sea views!

We really loved the property and the location was superb. Definitely would recommend it and we will hopefully be returning in the future.

We just love staying at Captains House, it has amazing sea views!

We had a great holiday with our 2 daughters and their families the property was perfect, plenty of space, toilets & bathrooms so no queues or problems getting ready to go out. Would go again!
