The Bolt Hole is a fantastic little cottage right in the heart of St Ives. Absolutely loved our stay here.
Ms Ives Apr 2022
Another lovely stay at The Bolt Hole - excellent location and a lovely property. Stairs are steep and bathroom/shower small, as expected in this type of property and part of town but it is decorated to a high standard and feels like home from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the little touches that made it feel so welcoming.
Mrs Penny Apr 2022
Great location! Good kitchen equipment . Reviews that reference stairs being steep are correct but not a reason not to stay. Found dropping off suitcases absolutely fine.
Miss Hadfield Oct 2021
Brilliant property in a great location, parking space is a massive plus as parking is difficult in the area. Would definitely stay here again, we had a great time!
Mr McDonald Sep 2021
Another lovely stay in St Ives - predictably busy at this time of the year but we found some quieter spots and had a great time.
Mrs Penny Sep 2021
Just had a great stay at the Bolt Hole. All was as indicated on the website. Fantastic location near the harbour, Porthmeor and Porthgwidden Beaches but still a peaceful location. Would definitely recommend.
Mrs Grant Jul 2021
Location is great and just what we needed for our requirements. The accommodation was cosy with plenty of space and comfortable. Overall a great week away and would stay in the Bolt Hole again.
MR TURLEY Jun 2021
This was our 2nd stay at the Bolt Hole and we would definitely stay again - it’s a great little property in a perfect central location!
Mrs Jackson Jun 2021
Another very enjoyable stay in the heart of St Ives. The Bolt Hole is a lovely cottage in a great location - it does have steep narrow stairs but that helped me get my daily steps exercise in! Perfect for the two of us for the week.
Mrs Penny May 2021
Great cottage in a lovely location. They aren’t kidding about the stairs being narrow and steep, but the cottage has a really cosy feel and it is equipped to a very high standard - all the home comforts we could wish for. Looking forward to staying there again soon.
Mrs Penny Dec 2020
The Bolt Hole was a great place to stay when visiting St Ives. The location was fantastic as it was right on the harbour and close to the shops and beaches but the house was located down a quiet side street so there was no noise at night. It had everything you could possibly need and was a nice homely place to stay. The only negatives are that the stairs are super steep especially to the top bedroom but we were already aware of this and that its difficult to unload/pack up your car as the property is located on a street not accessible by car and the surrounding area is always really busy. This wouldn’t stop me staying here again though and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

Thank you very much for your review. We were so pleased to see that you had such a great stay at The Bolt Hole. Tucked away in the Downalong, it is such a great little spot for being within the heart of the town but as you have pointed out, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy spots, which does mean that the property isn't accessible by car, but we hope that you'll agree it is worth the short walk for the quieter spot! As with many of the traditional fisherman's cottage, the steps within are quite steep, which may not suit everybody, but we do try to capture this as best as possible within the website description and photos. Thanks again for your feedback and for the comments recommending The Bolt Hole, we hope to welcome you back again soon. Ben, Customer Services
A delightful cottage which looked like the pictures. The cottage was clean, compact and well equipped. The stairs are narrow and steep but hand holds are in the right spots. The Aspects team were friendly and really helped us out when we called for assistance. A great service. Thank you.
Ms Day Sep 2020
Excellent location very near to Porthmeor and to the center of St Ives. Very well equipped and comfortable to stay in
Mr White Sep 2020
From the point of booking to arrival and departure, everything was easy for me and the property was lovely, perfect location and well kitted our with lots of nice homely touches. The stairs are steep and narrow, as I expected but thoughtfully placed grab handles help with access to an from the top floor. I would happily stay here again.
Mrs Penny Nov 2019
Beautiful cosy welcoming cottage. Equipped to a high standard. Extremely comfortable, fantastic location. Parking a bonus with easy access. A delightful holiday home.
Mrs Black Oct 2019
Fantastic location for all the shops, bars and restaurants and most importantly the beaches - in any given direction. Lovely house with every last detail included, couldn’t have asked for more.
Mrs Marchi Jul 2019
Great location, and a quirky well presented cottage. Enjoyed a great holiday here.
Mr King Jul 2019
Great home for a holiday. Lots of impressive space savings items. I particularly liked the dryer. The top bedroom has steep stairs but my elderly parents coped with the rest of the home. I would be happy to recommend both Aspect and The Bolt Hole.
Ms Copland Apr 2019
Beautiful cottage in such a good location everything we needed just be aware stairs are steep so not for the elderly, we will be back later in the year thanks again
Mrs Clark Mar 2019
The cottage was very convenient for the harbour. Very well equipped and comfortable. Wi-Fi, dab radio and smart tv were a great addition. Parking space was not at the cottage but was a 10 minute walk away, however was much easier for going out as then didn't need to drive into the harbour which is always a nightmare.
Mr Armstrong Sep 2018
An excellent location in the middle of the town. All beaches are easily accessible. Nicely decorated with lots of added extras to make the holiday even better.
Mr Gray Aug 2018
great location !
Dr Connolly Apr 2018
This has to be the best cottage I have ever stayed in in St Ives in the last 5 years. Perfect in layout, comfortable, private and thoroughly fitted out. It's been a fantastic trip, weather great for walking and painting! Had excellent reflexology at Garden Retreat at Carbis Bay. Fabulous base - I would definitely book again. Thanks
Mrs Maclean Jan 2018
Wonderful location with great access to the beaches and harbour.
Mrs Dove Sep 2017
Location , well equipped and clean , plus the added benefit of parking ,
Mr Allan Aug 2017
The Bolt Hole is a lovely quaint cottage, it is in a fantastic location, and the décor is perfect for the cottage, it is small so suggest that you are very good friends with anyone else staying with you as any sound carries however for a week's break in St Ives it was excellent. The parking is a nightmare and so suggest parking at the leisure centre where you can get a space anytime however I understand that parking will be provided next year which will be perfect.
Mrs Colwill Oct 2016
Good location, small cottage very well equiped.
Mrs Wright Sep 2016
Highly recommended for the level of comfort, facilities, decor, fixtures, fittings and perfect location. Perfect for a couple, maybe a bit tight for two couples. If you want to cook in, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need, dishwasher is a bonus. Compared to other places we have stayed this the best.
