Harbour Watch Downalong, St Ives

£412 - £1070
Book

This unique little cottage is nestled in the very heart of old St Ives and over the decades has had many uses; from sail loft to a craftsman's workshop. Now a lovely bolthole, from its picture window you can take in the superb view of the beach and out to sea. This tranquil retreat is just moments' from the glorious beaches, array of eateries, shops and galleries through the cobbled streets of St Ives. Harbour Watch overlooks the picturesque working Harbour and almost as close is the surfing beach, Porthmeor and the more sheltered Porthgwidden Beach. Whether it's an early morning walk or an evening stroll across any one of the soft sandy beaches, you will never tire of the beautiful scenery, alternatively simply cosy up inside your holiday home and enjoy the view.

Living and sleeping are beautifully combined upstairs, all focussed around the large window spectacularly showcasing the views across the beach and harbour. The double bed is at the rear of the room, raised for superb sea views. Pull up one of the two snuggly armchairs with footstools to watch the comings and goings on the beach below or to watch the large 4K Smart TV, which is placed on adjustable arm, to be able to watch comfortably from the bed or the sitting area. The wardrobe is tucked away downstairs and there's storage under the bed. Stripped wooden floorboards give you a warm, homely feel underfoot and high vaulted ceilings with mood lighting all go a long way to creating that ambience you desire for a romantic break away.

This bijou cottage is in one of the best locations in St Ives. The massive picture window gives uninterrupted views of the harbour and Porthminster beach whilst within three minutes one can be surfing on Porthmeor. A wonderful cottage in which to unwind. Great for couples or those travelling solo.

Mr Martin

The photos do not do the view justice. It was the first time we has taken our son away and so our first family holiday. This is a beautiful flat in a perfect position and for the first time in my life the photos in the brochure did not do its justice. Pros - Location - View - First class appliances and the wine in the fridge was a lovely touch - Have I managed the view Cons - Parking is a 10 minute walkaway, but it is St Ives! Overall 10/10, superb.
