Hayle Estuary RSPB Nature Reserve
Great for bird watching all year round, the Hayle Estuary is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). In Autumn and Winter, thousands of birds migrate here due to it being the most south-westerly estuary in the UK, meaning it never freezes. The estuary provides a great place for walks, but dogs must be kept on a lead to avoid any disturbance to the wildlife. Find out more about the Hayle Estuary.

If the birds on the Estuary are a little too distant for your liking, Hayle's Paradise Park allows you to get up close and personal with wildlife of both the feathered and furry varieties. With a large indoor adventure play area, a gorgeous cafe - and even an onsite pub, this is one for the whole family.
Hayle in Bloom
Throughout the summer, the Hayle community comes together to put on a wonderful floral display throughout the town. With an award from the South West in bloom competition at stake, and with fierce competition from neighbouring towns, Hayle pulls out all the stops in an attempt to retain its Gold medal, which it has won for 8 consecutive years!
Hayle Raft Race
In July, the locals wear fancy dress and take part in the annual raft race on the Regatta pool. Climbing aboard homemade rafts, partakers battle it out and race to the finish in an attempt to secure one of the winners trophies. Spectators can enjoy the bbq and bar on offer, and the bouncy castle and stalls mean there's plenty for the kids to enjoy. A fun day out for everyone. Read more about Hayle Raft Race.

The tradition of Tom Bawcock comes from the feast or famine lifestyle of Cornwall. The story goes that it was just before Christmas; there had been no fish for weeks, the boats couldn’t get out into the raging storm, the village was starving. One man, Tom Bawcock, dared to take his boat out of the harbour’s safety. He returned with enough fish to make fish pie for the whole village.
Today, a festival takes place each year to celebrate Tom Bawcock's bravery. During the festival, Star Gazey pies are eaten in memory of this famous event.

Paddles is a well appointed and beautifully presented apartment in a quiet block. It has glorious views across an rspb lake towards the sea with a charming view of the West Cornwall golf course and Lelant church. The town centre and an Asda superstore are within easy walking distance.
Mr Henley-Pryer Oct 2019
Paddles is a very comfortable, clean, well - equipped and high spec apartment. Great fast wi-fi and lots of TV channels.
Fantastic views from balcony, including sunsets over the estuary.
Great location for visiting many places in Cornwall.
Would highly recommend and would not hesitate to return!
Mrs Bedford Aug 2019
Paddles is a fantastic place to stay in Cornwall very comfortable lovely views you won’t want to come home
Mr Mckee Jul 2019
A great apartment with beautiful views of Hayle estuary and sunsets to die for, an ideal base for exploring Cornwall.
Mrs Poole Jul 2019
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paddles, it is fully equipped and we made good use of the balcony( we took our own sun chairs) the sunsets are amazing. Hayle is a lovely place full of character and a good base to go out and see different places. The bus services to Penzance and St Ives are brilliant if you don't want to take your car.Asda is 5 minutes away for all your supplies. The Salt Bar was our favourite place to eat but there are many others that are very good, you need to do some research to find them. We would recommend this appartment to all.
Mrs Scott Jul 2019
As we stayed in Penzance over the last years, we were looking for something else. The apartment Paddles in Hayle is spacious with nice views and 2 bathrooms and has a large balcony (which we could not use due to bad weather). The main bedroom has also nice views to the river and beaches behind, whereas the twin bedroom looks out to a stone wall and only has a small window that makes airing a little bit difficult. Despite the very beautiful countryside around Hayle (especially Godrevy) we were a little bit disappointed by the surroundings itself, for dinner we went to St. Ives, Penzance or cooked by ourselves. The ASDA is not far away and very suitable to grocery shopping. All in all a very comfortable and new apartment, however as far as the location is concerned, other towns offer more.

Thank you for taking the time to send in your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the nice light, airy spacious feel of Paddles, and those great views of the estuary. We try to show as clearly as possible on the website that the twin bedroom doesn't have those same great views as the master bedroom and living room, so we are sorry if you had expected views from there as well. It is a smaller window in that room, especially when compared to the sliding doors that you have for ventilating the other bedroom and the living area, but there is one side of this window that opens fully and should still provide plenty of ventilation. We will of course monitor for any further feedback though. We were really sorry to hear that you were disappointed with Hayle as an area, and such a shame that we couldn't have helped recommend some great places to eat in the town- whilst it is a smaller town when compared to the likes of St Ives and Penzance, you have 3 miles of beautiful beach to explore and there are still some really lovely restaurants in the town and a couple that are away from the main part of the town but still within walking distance. If you are ever returning to the area, please do not hesitate to get in contact so that we can help with a few suggestions. We would love the opportunity to share a few little gems with you! Thanks again for your comments. Tanya, Customer Services

A fabulous dog friendly apartment with amazing views, even the Jewson yard! So close to the beaches - a short stroll along the quay. Central for driving to towns & gardens on both North & South coast. Lots of eateries nearby, our favourite is The Old Quayhouse at Lelant saltings. Dog walks straight from the front door, around Carnsew Pool & straight across the road in grounds of the old foundry.
