Week Green

£623 - £1450 per week

Week Green is a cosy cottage, which offers a great holiday home from home for families or friends to share. The spacious rooms and high standard of furnishing throughout, provide the perfect place to stay, while exploring the beautiful surroundings. A local stone, inglenook fireplace, complete with woodburner, forms the focal point in the living area, so you can watch the fantastic sunsets, or toast the sundown, in the private and enclosed courtyard, coming back indoors to enjoy the final sun rays from the living area, before snuggling up for the evening on the sofa, with a glass of wine, while you plan the next days adventures.

Week Green nestles within the Saxon village of Week St Mary, and is just 5 miles inland from Widemouth Bay beach, perfect for surfing, swimming and beach fun. Bude town is 7 miles away, where you will find the main supermarkets, interesting smaller shops, eateries, coffee shops and many recreational activities. There are plenty of pretty walks in and around the village of Week St Mary, including a circular walk through Ashbury woods, beneath the Iron Age fort, to the remains of a medieval manor of Penhallam, which was only discovered in the 1960's, returning via Week St Mary church. Week Green is the perfect quiet rural hideaway, set in a friendly, tranquil village, with easy access to the larger sandy beaches and unique picturesque coves.

Holidays in Bude

Bude is a coastal town in the north of Cornwall, situated at the mouth of the river Neet. There are a number of excellent beaches in and around the town, such as Summerleaze and Crooklets, as well as Widemouth Bay a little further south.

Bude has so much to offer, including a fabulous town with a wide selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. In addition, visitors can meander along Bude Canal, or enjoy a gentle cruise in a pedal boat or kayak, observing the beautiful area from a different angle. The town is home to the historic Bude Sea Pool and The Castle Bude, both a must if you are in the area.

For those who enjoy walking, the South West Coast Path can be easily access from Bude, head south in the direction of Crackington Haven or North towards Morwenstow. You’ll be blown away by the stunning scenery and breathtaking views along the coastline.

With so much on the doorstep, it’s the perfect destination for a holiday by the sea!

Top tip

Take a dip in the historic Bude Sea Pool at Summerleaze Beach!

Beaches in Bude

Crooklets Beach

At low tide, a large expanse of golden sand is exposed, along with rocky outcrops which are great for rock pooling. The beach can be reached by a short walk over Summerleaze Down or down the hill from the town centre. Crooklets is very popular with surfers, but also perfect for families, with great facilities including a large car park, beach café, skate park, showers, and pubs close by. Dogs are welcome on this beach except between 15th May and 30 September, 10am to 6pm when a seasonal dog ban is in place.

Summerleaze Beach

Boasting the iconic Sea Pool, and only a five minute walk from the centre of Bude, Summerleaze Beach is Bude’s central hub of sand, surf and sun. It’s the first port of call for many visitors. Clean, safe and easy on the eye, Summerleaze Beach is a big hit with surfers, sun-bathers and families. However, it is the sheer variety of activities that mark Summerleaze as arguably one of the best beaches in Cornwall for outdoor pursuits and water sports. Dogs are welcome but must be on leads from 21st May to 30th September from 10am-6pm.

Widemouth Bay Beach

Stretching across one and a half miles of golden sands, Widemouth Bay is divided into two halves, the North beach and the South beach, separated by a natural barrier of rock known as Black Rock. As the tide retreats, amazing rock formations are exposed - perfect for rock-pooling!

Northcott Mouth Beach

Three miles North of Bude, is the small rocky beach Northcott Mouth, owmed by the National Trust. As the tide drops, the beach opens up to expansive sand with rock pools dotted all around - perfect for exploring. Dogs welcomed all year round.

Sandymouth Beach

Four miles North of Bude is the National Trust beach, Sandymouth. Backed by sweeping cliffs, this large sandy beach is popular all year round, especially with dog owners as it welcomes dogs year round.
