Week Green is a cosy cottage, which offers a great holiday home from home for families or friends to share. The spacious rooms and high standard of furnishing throughout, provide the perfect place to stay, while exploring the beautiful surroundings. A local stone, inglenook fireplace, complete with woodburner, forms the focal point in the living area, so you can watch the fantastic sunsets, or toast the sundown, in the private and enclosed courtyard, coming back indoors to enjoy the final sun rays from the living area, before snuggling up for the evening on the sofa, with a glass of wine, while you plan the next day's adventures.

Week Green nestles within the Saxon village of Week St Mary, and is just 5 miles inland from Widemouth Bay beach, perfect for surfing, swimming, and beach fun. Bude town is 7 miles away, where you will find the main supermarkets, interesting smaller shops, eateries, coffee shops and many recreational activities. There are plenty of pretty walks in and around the village of Week St Mary, including a circular walk-through Ashbury woods, beneath the Iron Age fort, to the remains of a medieval manor of Penhallam, which was only discovered in the 1960's, returning via Week St Mary church. Week Green is the perfect quiet rural hideaway, set in a friendly, tranquil village, with easy access to the larger sandy beaches and unique picturesque coves.

Holidays in Bude

Carrying the title of Cornwall’s northern-most coastal town, Bude is perfectly placed to enjoy some of the north coast’s beautiful beaches and coastal walks.

Bude has so much to offer when it comes to things to do, including a fabulous town with a wide selection of independent shops, cafés, and restaurants – not to mention the wildest live music venue in Cornwall. In addition, visitors can meander along Bude Canal, stretch out on one of the many beaches, or enjoy a gentle cruise in a pedal boat or kayak, observing the beautiful area from a different angle. The town is home to the historic Bude Sea Pool and The Castle Bude, both a must if you are in the area.

For those who enjoy walking, the South West Coast Path can be easily accessed from Bude. You’ll be blown away by the stunning scenery and breathtaking views along the coastline – it’s also a great dog-friendly day out!

With so much on the doorstep, it’s the perfect destination for a holiday by the sea!

Top tip

Take a dip in the historic Bude Sea Pool at Summerleaze Beach!

Beaches in Bude

Each with its own character and charm, the beaches in Bude are great whether you’re a swimmer, surfer or sand-snoozer.

Summerleaze Beach – Boasting the iconic sea pool, and only a five-minute walk from the centre of Bude, Summerleaze Beach is Bude’s central hub of sand, surf, and sun. Clean, safe, and easy on the eye, Summerleaze Beach is a big hit with surfers, sun-bathers, and families. However, it’s the sheer variety of activities that mark Summerleaze as arguably one of the best beaches in Cornwall for outdoor pursuits and watersports so definitely swing by if you love a hands-on holiday.

Crooklets Beach – At low tide, you’ll find a huge expanse of golden sand along with lots of rockpools to explore, making it very popular with families. There’s also decent surf and lots of amenities nearby including a beach café for those all-important ice creams and even a skate park.

Widemouth Bay Beach – Stretching across one and a half miles of golden sands, Widemouth Bay is divided into two halves, the North beach and the South beach, separated by a natural barrier of rock known as Black Rock. As the tide retreats, amazing rock formations are exposed - perfect for rockpooling and getting back to nature!

Northcott Mouth Beach – Three miles North of Bude is the small rocky beach Northcott Mouth, which is owned by the National Trust. As the tide drops, the beach opens up to expansive sand with rockpools dotted all around - perfect for exploring with the dog all year round.

Bude Castle

Ordinarily, a castle built on the sand might not seem like the best idea, but Bude Castle has really stood the test of time! Built around 1830, the castle was formally the home of Victorian inventor Sir Goldsworthy Gurney. It’s now a heritage centre with lots of fascinating exhibitions and art galleries, making this impressive feat of architecture an interesting day whatever the weather.

Bude Sea Pool

Opened in 1930, this partially man-made tidal swimming pool in the rocks of Summerleaze beach provides a lovely, safe place to swim, perfect if you’re not ready to swim in the sea. The pool is open all year round, but of course, it depends on the tide and weather, so always check before heading out.

Based near Summerleaze beach, Bude Surfing Experience provides water sports equipment hire and watersports lessons so you can hit the waves running as you try your hand at surfing and stand-up paddleboarding!

You’ll also find popular big names from FatFace to Ann’s Cottage, which houses all the top surfing brands.

Walks

With lots of stunning walks in and around Bude, walkers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to scenic routes. Head out onto the South West Coast path for dramatic coastal paths or head inland and explore the many walkways, which take you across crisscrossing fields, through woodland trails and even past Bude’s historic aqueduct.

Dining Out

After a day frolicking in the sea, we often find ourselves in need of a big feed, which is perfect when you’re surrounded by all the great places to eat in Bude. Recently stayed in Week Green cottage in Week St. Mary village. What a delight for a family of 6. Cottage was beautifully laid out, clean, comfortable and welcoming. Facilities in the kitchen and bathrooms were excellent. Village welcoming Community Shop a lifeline when Milk forgotten ??.

Lovely clean home from home in a great location

This property was fantastic. The location was quiet and the views from the property were stunning. The house had everything you would need and more - so many little touches that made it special. The kitchen was well equipped and the £15 voucher to spend at the community shop was ideal. Locals were very friendly and places to visit were not that far away. The house was very clean and each room decorated to a high standard. We took our dog with us and they provided the bed, bowls and towels. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and would use Aspect Holidays in the future.

Beautiful Cottage! The owners have thought of everything you would need. Widemouth Bay is very near by and Bude was about 15 minutes away. Great location. Would definately come back to this cottage.

Lovely stay at Week Green, very dog friendly cottage, comfortable and extremely clean and decorated beautifully. Found a gorgeous pub serving amazing food within 15 mins drive Molesworth Arms in Pyworthy and worth eating at Temple, Chicken and Rum Shack plus Bank, all in Bude. Monster Slip n Slide great for kids and adults and Black Rock beach great for rock pooling and dog friendly too. Plenty to do or great to relax too in the courtyard at Week Green!

Beautiful house with everything provided.. exceeded our expectations.. situated in a lovely quite village and the £15 voucher for the local shop was such an unexpected lovely surprise

Week Green is a beautiful home with plenty of space and is very comfortable, it was lovely and relaxing. The village was lovely and the community shop a real gem.We would highly recommend this beautiful home.

A beautiful, stylish, comfortable, exceptionally clean property - a joy to stay in... We had a wonderful 10 days there to celebrate my 70th birthday. The cottage is in a lovely, quiet location. wW travelled to many different locations in N Cornwall & Devon & did circular walks which give you the opportunity to see the beautiful, stunning scenery on the coast & inland - the walks take you away from the 'tourist' places - there is so much more to the south-west that you won't see from a car or just staying on the beach... We were very impressed with 'Aspects Holidays' & will definitely tell our friends about them & will definitely be using them again. Thank you for a lovely 'dream cottage' to stay in - Carol, Paul & Cassie (our dog)

Lovely, comfortable, stylish, clean cottage... We had a lovely 10 day holiday there. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to stay. First time we have used Aspects & we will certainly use them again.

Fabulous cottage. Really modern, clean and well equipped home from home. Gorgeous views to the rear and nice enclosed patio area to the front. Beds were exceptionally comfortable. Utility room was great for additional storage.

Beautifully furnished, clean and very comfortable cottage. Lovely large bathroom. Fabulous kitchen with large cooker, fridge and coffee machine (bean to cup). Warm, spacious and outdoor space for sitting and relaxing - great if you have a dog. Local shop is convenient for any essentials and the £15 voucher was a nice touch too.

We had a brilliant stay at Week Green. The cottage is beautiful and extremely well equipped for a family stay. We used the cottage as a very comfortable base while we explored the area.

Week green is a fabulous place to stay, really well equipped, only complaint are the beds are good quality but very firm
