Crooklets Beach
At low tide, a large expanse of golden sand is exposed, along with rocky outcrops which are great for rock pooling. The beach can be reached by a short walk over Summerleaze Down or down the hill from the town centre. Crooklets is very popular with surfers, but also perfect for families, with great facilities including a large car park, beach café, skate park, showers, and pubs close by. Dogs welcomed from October to Easter only.

Boasting the iconic Sea Pool, and only a five minute walk from the centre of Bude, Summerleaze Beach is Bude’s central hub of sand, surf and sun. It’s the first port of call for many visitors. Clean, safe and easy on the eye, Summerleaze Beach is a big hit with surfers, sun-bathers and families. However, it is the sheer variety of activities that mark Summerleaze as arguably one of the best beaches in Cornwall for outdoor pursuits and water sports. Dogs welcomed on leads from May to September and off the lead any time after this!
Stretching across one and a half miles of golden sands, Widemouth Bay is divided into two halves, the North beach and the South beach, separated by a natural barrier of rock known as Black Rock. As the tide retreats, amazing rock formations are exposed - perfect for rock-pooling!
Three miles North of Bude, is the small rocky beach Northcott Mouth, owmed by the National Trust. As the tide drops, the beach opens up to expansive sand with rock pools dotted all around - perfect for exploring. Dogs welcomed all year round.
Four miles North of Bude is the National Trust beach, Sandymouth. Backed by sweeping cliffs, this large sandy beach is popular all year round, especially with dog owners as it welcomes dogs year round.

St Piran's Day, celebrated on March 5th, is the national day of Cornwall, named after one of Cornwall's patron saints. He made Cornwall his new home and became the patron saint of tin-miners after rediscovering tin smelting.
Today, Cornwall still celebrates St Piran's Day, with various celebrations held across Cornwall.
