Porth Glas is a beautiful, spacious, duplex, apartment, accessed via the ground floor. The apartment is situated within a five minute stroll of the picture perfect harbour front, where you find crystal clear waters, hence the appropriately named 'Porth Glas', which is Cornish for blue harbour. Two large bedrooms provide the ultimate comfort for a family or two couples sharing and, as they say, 'location is key!' which is certainly the case here. The property has been lovingly furnished with, both a luxurious and modern feel throughout, and is the perfect home from home for you to return back to, year after year.

You will have one of the most memorable holidays here, as you can hit the beaches within a few minutes' walk, or pop out in the car knowing that you can return back at any point with ease to the space right outside your front door. More importantly, at the end of an exciting day of exploring West Cornwall, you can pop into the indoor sauna to unwind before relaxing with your favourite tipple as the sun starts to set over Porthmeor.

PLEASE NOTE: There are two projects taking place within Godrevy Gardens, which is on the land opposite Porth Glas. There is a tall scaffolding structure up, covered in sheeting, which does impact the views from the property. The projects are expected to take place through to Easter 2026 with activities seen, heard, and felt throughout the duration. Please contact the customer services team for more information and photos. Due to the nature of these works the owner is offering a 10% discount to any guests looking to book.

A great location close to the town centre and many of the beaches. Great facilities, the car parking space, outdoor shower and sauna were the cherry on the top! Building works were not that noisy and there is still a nice view down to the harbour.

Porth Glas was absolutely perfect for us. Such a wonderful position over looking St Ives. Loved been able to sit by the window and see the changing weather. You can see the Town, the wharf and porthminster to the side. Sadly you can no longer see Porthmeor due to the building works. The building project going on was minimal for our stay for which we were very grateful! Minutes walk from the town and the beach (steep but small hill to both) Parking was a massive bonus. The accommodation itself was perfect. So spacious and yet cosy. The beds were soooo comfortable. All the bed linen and towels have a real luxury feel to them. Massive thank you to all the staff at Aspects for being amazing and helping me create a perfect holiday as a surprise to my hubby for his 50th- they literally couldn’t of done enough to be more accommodating :)

Fabulous accommodation with views all over St Ives beaches. The walk down to Porthmeor beach through the cobbled lanes and Cornish cottages was just a delight missing out the steep climbs. The amazing sunsets sat on the beach, the chilly morning dips and delicious food ( especially Porthminster Cafe). All in all we felt very lucky and spoilt by the weather and the apartment which made for a perfect holiday. The most comprehensive appliance guide and guest information pack was the best we have ever had in any self catering accommodation we have stayed in. Anne and Paul. West Midlands.

This is our second stay at this property. Porth glas is a very comfortable property with very high quality furnishings and kitchen equipment.
It is also in a great position for easy access to the town and the beach. Unfortunately there is building work opposite which does mar the view from the lounge, however the builders are polite and the actual building work is out of sight.

We are glad that you enjoyed another lovely holiday here. It really is a great property in a fantastic location. It is a shame about the works that are currently ongoing, and although there has generally been little disturbance from it and you do still have the nice sea views from the property, we have included a note on the website to highlight the potential impacts of this and its visibility from there. The project is due to complete in 2024, and the highest level of the new building is understood to not obstruct views so hopefully if you are looking to return, things will be looking a lot better for you from there. A great weekend break with friends despite the weather. We had plenty of walks between the showers and the sauna was very welcome to warm us up after the cold. This is a fantastic place to stay with everything you need to stay whatever the weather.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, everything had been thought off. The location is excellant for the beaches and town and the parking is very welcome right outside the property. I would highly recommend Porth Glas to anyone.

Positives - the flat is immaculate with very well thought out spaces, and we appreciated the massive kitchen and decent freezer space. The sauna was fabulous! Much better appointed than other flats, and in a perfect location overlooking the whole of Downalong. A useful beach cupboard is provided with bodyboards and windbreakers etc, also there a (warm!) outside shower which was super-useful for sandy feet.

Negative - the flat is directly opposite the main entrance to a big construction project for the foreseeable, so there is constant building noise on weekdays, plus our experience was that the flat’s parking space got routinely blocked in by the site crews during active times.

Thank you for your review and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed another lovely stay at this property. The owner tried to ensure that guests have everything that they need for an enjoyable break, so we are sure that she will be delighted to read your comments. We are sorry to hear that the builders had blocked the space. There is a large project taking place opposite, so we informed all guests who had already booked, and added a note to the website so that anyone booking would have pre-warning of this, so we do hope that this was what you had expected to see opposite the property. The builders have so far been very considerate and have done what they can to minimise disruption to others around there. We have heard of a couple of times that they have blocked in a space or two, but as soon as they have been approached about it, they have moved immediately. However, they shouldn't be blocking them, so we will get in contact with the company who are running the build, to politely remind them of this. Thank you for letting us know and we hope that we will see you back here again soon. Tanya, Customer Services

We stayed at Porth Glas for five nights. It is in a great location for easy access to the harbour and the beach. The flat is finished to a high standard with quality kitchen equipment and furnishings. One of the bedrooms only has borrowed natural light from a connecting corridor so is a bit dark and short on fresh air. Apart from that I would highly recommend Porth Glas for a very comfortable stay in St Ives.

Porth Glas is stunning. It's fantastic for our family. Great accommodation, wonderful views, easy access to town and the beaches: this flat has it all.

Well appointed apartment with lovely views. Very relaxing place to stay.

Would not recommend Porth Glas or Aspects of St Ives, building works are directly opposite this building and will carry on for a long time causing noise and parking problems, and Aspects only advised us of the building works 18 hours before we were to arrive, not at all impressed

We are really dissapointed to hear that after so many years of booking with us, this incident has left you feeling so disapointed by our service, which I hope has always previously met the very high standards that we set for ourselves. And it is such a shame that this has also impacted your view of this property as a result. The piece of land opposite has been rumoured to be getting developed for many years and eventually got planning permission. We have been trying to find out what would be going on there, when work would start and so on, but have not been able to get that information. We had no calls or emails back from the people that we had contacted and as we are sure you can appreciate, there is no way for us to know when any work may start. It could have been 2 weeks after planning permission was granted, or several years. With no warning at all, diggers arrived on site, and we started contacting owners of the properties that would be affected, and their guests the same day that we were notified to this. We really do appreciate that noise associated with the builders unloading their diggers and machinery on to the site ready for works to start at a later date, is not what you expect while on holiday, so please rest assured that we will always be completely open and honest with guests about things like this and contact guests as soon as we are aware. Would recommend to anyone , looking for a relaxing holiday, not far from harbour and shops! Lovely and spacious with everything you need and more! Loved it xx

Great week in St Ives and stay at Porth Glas. Lovely views from lounge window of Porthmeor Beach, the Island and Harbour. Comfortable house with lots of space and well equipped. Great to have car park space and great location to get around town in all directions. Not so sure how this would be if infirm or wet weather as very steep but appreciated the views and the quiet as no passing traffic.

Thank you for your comments. We are glad to hear that you liked Porth Glas and enjoyed the lovely views from there. Being in such a fantastic location, sitting above the town and making the most of those views, does involve an uphill walk back to the property after a day at one of the stunning beaches of St Ives. The walk may not be suitable for everyone, but it really is worth it! And at least you can work off all the pasties, cream teas and ice creams that just must be tested out while here! ;-) Tanya, Customer Services

Another fabulous stay at Porth Glas! Superb location, everything within a few minutes walk, parking right outside the apartment is a bonus. Already looking at booking for next year!

This has to be one of the most impressive flats we’ve stayed at, during our many years of holidays in St Ives. It has everything you could need for an enjoyable effortless stay. It has an amazing level of finish, including underfloor heating, a lovely big family kitchen, parking right outside the door, and even a sauna. The views from the living room are stunning. We loved our stay and want to book again!

Lovely spacious modern apartment in a great location with good parking. Family loved the sauna after body boarding.

I have stayed at Porth Glas a handful of times it is in the perfect location parking right outside the front door it a very luxury and spacious apartment and has everything you would need.

Fabulous apartment in a great location, we would highly recommended it. Porth Glas is a very clean and spacious place, home from home.
