Shipshape Cottage is in the very heart of the historic and sought after area of Downalong. Not only will you be one minute from the harbour, Porthmeor and Porthgwidden Beaches, but a handy few seconds from The Island car park too. The property is fabulous, lending itself perfectly to family occasions and get togethers. Set over three floors with four bedrooms and two bathrooms, the furnishings are of a high quality with comfortable beds and stylish furniture.

There is also a shared courtyard area to the back of the property to relax in, on an evening, after a day at the beach. The owners have put great thought and care in the renovation, which leaves you with an amazing finished product, which we are sure many will book again and again.

Fantastic property, we had a lovely weekend away with family, 6children and 4adults there was lots of space for us and we had a wonderful weekend. Will definitely be coming back again soon. The house had everything we could have needed. And the location is perfect.

St Ives Feast Day

Held on the anniversary of the consecration of the Parish Church of St Eia in 1434 AD, Feast Day offers visitors to witness - and even join in with - some centuries-old traditions. A morning precesison led by the Mayor to bless the Well of St Eia. Following this, the Mayor will 'Hurls the Silver Ball' into a crowd of children who assemble on the beach below. The one who returns the ball to the Guildhall steps by midday receives a silver coin. In the afternoon the Mayor then throw pennies from the balcony of the Guildhall for children to collect.
