Old Court Cottage
Lelant

Book

Old Court Cottage has been lovingly refurbished with a homely cottage feel, full of books and local artwork. The cottage is central to both the North and South Coasts, ideal for exploring the numerous beaches and coves during the warmer months. When the Cornish weather isn't being so kind, you can return to the property after a bracing walk and curl up in front of the woodburner, with a hot chocolate or favourite tipple. The character, country, kitchen is a cosy hub for those who like to create their own feasts, but if you don't fancy cooking, then Lelant has well renowned restaurants and public houses, offering good food and entertainment on your doorstep, including The Old Forge, Birdies Bistro, The Badger Pub, and The Watermill, all less than a 10-minute walk away. Sleeping six over two floors, the mezzanine makes the ideal hideout for teenagers, with two further bedrooms for the rest of the family. The cottage boasts a large mature garden, with three separate areas to sit, relax, and soak up the Cornish sun, before, or after, a day of exploring the coastline.

Lelant is the perfect location for those who love both St Ives and Carbis Bay, and with parking right outside your door Hayle is only a short drive away, with its miles of sandy beaches, eateries, and supermarket. However, if you wish to leave the car behind, then the bus stop is less than a ten-minute stroll away, with regular buses running to nearby St Ives or further afield.

Property was really nice, bigger than expected and well equipped. Decorated nicely and felt very homely. In a great location to explore the rest of Cornwall, train station within a 5/10 minute walk that has regular trains to st Ives. Parking was quite tight but once used to how to get into the space wasn’t an issue. The garden was also a surprise as was larger than expected, lovely spot at the top for a drink in the evening sunshine. It said about traffic noise but we didn’t really notice this during our stay.

Lovely old style cottage in a great location to explore the bottom part of Cornwall.

Tastefully decorated, well equipped cottage. Has everything you need. Housed 6 adults easily. We enjoyed the complementary gifts after a long journey. Enclosed outside space ideal for the dog. Excellent location to walk to the beautiful (dog friendly) Porthkidney beach, and the station giving easy access to St Ives. It is on the main road so it is noisy but that’s clear in the ad. And I think is reflected in the price of the cottage. We have booked for next year ??

Cottage lovely and well equipped. Garden over 3 levels good for a small dog and to sit outside. There are a few places where you need to watch your head but that goes with the territory if you want to stay in an historic cottage. Pull down bed on mezzanine would be good fun for x box age kids especially with its own flat screen tv ( but need Xbox or fire stick to use) but small children would have to be careful on steep ladder style stairs.

We love the location. Away from the hustle of St Ives but a short bus or train ride away. Three pubs and two other eateries nearby plus a good starting point for walks including the coastal path to St Ives. Best beach in Cornwall (in our view) is 20 mins walk away.

It is on the busy main Road so keep front door closed if your kids are very young.

In summary a very nice cottage in a great area.

Thank you for your lovely review of Old Court Cottage, it's great to hear that you had such a great time staying in peaceful Lelant. The mezzanine level currently offers a sofa-bed option, which as you've mentioned offers flexible sleeping arrangements for the whole family, just be sure to let our bookings team know if you need the sofa bed made up before your arrival! The cottage is set back off the main road running through Lelant to St Ives so you may hear passing traffic at times, and we always recommend supervising children when entering and leaving the property, too. Katy, Customer Services.

Lovely historic cottage very well located in Lelant and very spacious and comfy for 2-4 people. Beautifully furnished and equipped and the garden is superb. We and our dog really enjoyed the week. One parking space which is quite tight but ok once you know what you’re doing. Customer service and regular contact from Aspects was very good and better than other companies we have used. We will definitely use Aspects again.

A wonderful cottage, well set up, well laid out and extremely welcoming. Facilities were excellent. Location was amazing, remote but not too remote and perfect distance to popular sights such as Penzance. Great connectivity for both bus and rail. Would definitely come back!

Old Court Cottage was a lovely place to stay for Christmas, we all, including Freddie the dog, enjoyed our stay very much despite a couple of hiccups on the first day which were sorted by Aspects quickly and efficiently. It’s an ideal spot to stay for easy access to St Ives, many beaches and a couple of very good local pubs!

Old Court Cottage in Lelant was lovely. We chose Lelant because we were bringing our dog in August 2023 and Porth Kidney Sands was dog friendly all year round. My wife was also working so we set up her laptop etc on the small desk in the dining area. She had no issues with the WiFi and it was nice for her to down tools at the end of the day and we'd all go for a walk down to the beach and made sure we stopped off at the Badger pub on the way back. We had great weather, so sat in the pub garden. Our youngest daughter of 11 also came down and was very pleased with the cottage, garden, surrounding countryside and beaches.

The cottage itself was very nice and we were very comfortable. It was nice being out of the way as St Ives was so busy in August. We did venture in and having the train station nearby was really handy. Very cheap too.The road was always busy, but the cottage seemed to blot out most of the noise, so no issues.

Over-all, a great week and stay.

I would not stay here again, the cottage on arrival had not been cleaned properly, dirty floors, sticky surfaces, mouldy grapes in the bottom of the bin, food residue in the fridge. A pungent smell of wet dog constantly, dirty, smelly, full of dog hair blankets in the lounge area, someone else's underwear on the floor at the side of the downstairs toilet. The mop in the utility was falling apart and was full of dirt, not something you could use. Someone else's hair in the shower and the sink. The shower was mouldy. The parking was not clear, making if very difficult to park every time you left the space.

We were so sorry to hear that you arrived to these issues. It is not what we would expect for guests to arrive to. Please rest assured that your feedback was immediately passed on to that property owners' housekeeper and we will very closely monitor this. We can understand why such a first impression would be off-putting, but we are sorry to hear that this would put you off returning there. We have asked that these areas are addressed and so they should not be something that you would expect to arrive to again. Your feedback has also been passed on to the St Ives team so that they can discuss the parking with the owner, and how that could be made clearer. Thanks for the feedback and we hope that you still enjoyed this lovely area. Tanya, Customer Services

Service from Aspect Holidays was easy, efficient and quality. Cottage was certainly a home from home in which the family could properly relax in whilst highly functional. Great location as well to explore the south of Cornwall.

A lovely cottage in a great location. We loved the fact we could walk to Lelant station and get the train into St Ives, which we did on several occasions. The walk to St Ives is also beautiful. A great base to see the sites, such as St Michael's Mount and Minack Theatre, which are only a short drive away.

Well equipped and very comfortable with plenty of room and a pretty garden.

Lovely cottage in a good location. It was great for walking the dog, to the train station and the two pubs.

Lovely quaint old cottage, well equipped and clean, with pretty garden. Beware of height of mezzanine floor! Parking quite tight and unmarked. Would definitely stay here again.
