The Cottage
North Cornwall

£488 - £1284 per week
Book

This rural Cornish cottage dates to 1750, having all the charm of a property of its age with some height restrictions and steps from room to room, nestling in the quiet hamlet of Tremail, on the edge of moorland and within a short distance of the North Cornwall Coast, "The Cottage" exudes charm and character, but with a fully modernised kitchen, making this the ideal, peaceful retreat. Enjoy exploring the many spectacular moorland and coastal walks in the area or visit the picturesque harbours or beautiful beaches, then come home and relax in the cosy sitting room or take advantage of the secluded outside space, to have pre-dinner drinks in the late evening sun, before eating Al-fresco.

Tremail is on the edge of Bodmin moor, famous for Daphne Du Maurier's iconic book "Jamaica Inn". Bodmin Moor has lots to offer with numerous walks, Cornwall's largest tors, lakes, and a war museum. Murmuration of starlings is a sight to behold if you are lucky enough to be visiting when this happens. The popular harbours of Boscastle and Port Isaac are within easy reach, with the vast beach at Trebarwith about ten minutes' drive. Both Tintagel Castle and Tintagel brewery are well worth a visit. Camelford is just 3 miles away for your everyday needs and the larger towns of Launceston 13.8 and Wadebridge 15.5 miles. Further afield there are other attractions within easy reach - the famous harbour at Padstow is forty minutes with The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project, just under an hour. Tremail lies in an area that has some of the darkest night time skies in the UK. It's an ideal place to observe, with wonder, the amazing night sky in the paved garden at the rear of The Cottage, so bring binoculars or a telescope.

A home away from home. The Cottage certainly exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, the bedding and towels were wonderful and of great quality. Beds were very comfortable. Downstairs shower room was really nice and the shower was great. We were also pleasantly suprised with being supplied with some little extras like a pint of milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, a few d/w and washing cupsules etc. This was a lovely touch. Kitchen was great and appliances were also very good quality. Outside space was very pleasant and tidy and well maintained. Due to location it was very quiet and peaceful throughout the day and night. The 'requests and information' folder provided for guests was packed with lots of helpful information about the property and local area. There wasn't really anything in the cottage that hadn't been catered for. We had a wonderful week and we would love to stay again.

Beautiful cottage, ideally located would highly recommend. But be careful if your taler than most as this is a proper cottage with restricted head room, which we absolutely loved and are not very tall so we could enjoy it to its full potential. Excellent garden with plenty of covered areas if the weather is not great and well secured for your beloved Dog. All the rooms were perfectly presented, clean and a genuine Cornish cottage feel.

No point … there are no reviews to be seen on the website for this property or on TripAdvisor… not good !

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We would just like to reassure you that guest reviews always go live as soon as you submit them. We may temporarily remove a review so that we can investigate comments and write a reply, but they will always go live again if they do not go against any of the guidelines detailed on our website. The Cottage is a fairly new property to us, so we have only had bookings in there since mid-June and only 4 guests prior to you filled in the questionnaire feedback. None of those questionnaires included a review comment. We can't comment on TripAdvisor, as that is a third-party review site, and our review system is not linked to them. We hope that this explains why you can't see any and hope that you had a good time here. Tanya, Customer Services
