Boscastle Holidays

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the north coast of Cornwall, Boscastle is a true gem nestled into the inspiring coastal scenery. Visit this historic fishing village and you’ll find quaint cafes and tearooms, galleries, potteries and even a witchcraft museum! Don your walking boots and venture past the natural harbour and along the coast path to Warren Point to give you an alternative view of the harbour, or to commanding Wilapark headland in the other direction.

Walks

If you’re a keen walker, then the walks from Boscastle won’t disappoint! With easy access to the South West Coast Path in both directions, you’re promised breathtaking views whichever direction you choose to follow. Head north along the coast path to Crackington Haven, and south towards the famous Tintagel Castle, via the 317ft high promontory of Wilapark.

Things to do

While you’re in Boscastle, there’s a few things to tick off the list, firstly the National Trust Visitor Centre. It’s certainly worthwhile learning more about the history of the village, from the importance of the Botterell family to the significance of the commercial port throughout the 19th Century. Secondly, whilst learning about the village, why not stop off at the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic to find out more about the fascinating and intriguing history of witchcraft in Cornwall.

After these educational experiences, coffee and cake will certainly be in order! With a selection of quaint tea rooms and cafes in the village, you’ll be spoilt for choice!

For those into art and crafts, there’s a selection of art galleries and potteries in the village worth visiting too.

St Pirans Day Celebrations

Gool Perran Lowen - Happy St Piran's Day in Cornish!

St Piran's Day, celebrated on March 5th, is the national day of Cornwall, named after one of Cornwall's patron saints. According to legend, St Piran, a 5th century Irish Abbot, was thrown into the sea in Ireland tied to a mill stone; somehow he washed up on the Cornish coast still alive. He made Cornwall his new home and became the patron saint of tin-miners after rediscovering tin smelting.

Today, Cornwall still celebrates St Piran's Day, with various celebrations held across Cornwall.
