We loved our stay here! Very peaceful and quiet. Excellent, central location. Wonderful large garden with good outside lighting. Very well equipped cottage. Loved the fact there was a bath and separate shower. Highly effective heating system for winter or colder months as well as log burner.

November 2023

Raymond Cottage is a lovely 'home from home' in a quiet, secluded location but only an 8 to 10 minute walk to the harbour. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us and the 2 children enjoyed playing in the garden. The kitchen was well-equipped and the extra fridge space in the utility area was a welcome addition. We really apprecitaed the coffee machine and the fact that there were ample capsules provided, along with filter coffee, tea bags, bottle of wine, milk, salt and pepper. We weren't expecting a downstairs toilet, so that was a real bonus! Overall, a very warm and comfortable stay. We would return. Thank you.

Holidays in Porthleven

Whatever you love about Cornwall, we’re sure you'll find it while enjoying a holiday in Porthleven. Relax and enjoy the boats bobbing in the harbour, pull on the walking boots and join the coastal path to Rinsey and Praa Sands, take a short drive to nearby Marazion and the iconic St Michael's Mount, or hit the waves and surf until sunset.

This charming fishing town has a relaxing atmosphere; it's gorgeous in the Summer and dramatic during the Winter. The granite harbour and pier with its famous clock tower has become an iconic storm-watching spot during wild wintry weather and offers a tranquil setting on calmer days.

Take a short break out of season in Porthleven and avoid the hubbub on the roads and beaches. Soak up the sun on the harbour front and watch the fishing boats pass by. Catch the first glimpses of colour from the acres of Cornish daffodils in early spring with the sea as a back drop as you drive from coast to coast. With easy access to the coastal footpath, head east to discover Gunwalloe Fishing Cove, Polurnan Cliffs and Mullion Cove or head west and marvel at Praa Sands, Perranuthnoe and Marazion.

Take a short walk from Porthleven and reach the coarse sand of Porthleven beach, reaching two miles south as far as Loe Bar, a sand spit separating the sea and forming Loe Pool, the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall.

Porthleven harbour is an enjoyable place to relax, with its cafés, pubs and restaurants providing the perfect place for you to sit outside and watch the world float by!

Top tip

Like storm watching? Visit in winter and you may be lucky enough to experience huge waves crashing over the clock tower!

We loved this cottage. We stayed over Christmas and it was beautifully decorated for the festivities, along with a lovely gift from the owners. The cottage was well equipped and conformable and the garden was ideal for our dog - she was also provided with a cosy bed. Parking was a bit of a problem, particularly for loading and unloading and on a couple of occasions we had to use the car park by the supermarket but this was probably because of the busy Christmas period. All in all, a lovely stay ....

Reply from Aspects Holidays

It's great to hear how much you enjoyed your Christmas stay at Raymond Cottage and that you appreciated the owners extra special festive touches. Parking can be more challenging at certain times in Porthleven. Being a traditional fishing village, it was not designed with cars in mind at the time but is part of what gives it such a charming appeal! Our team are always happy to advise on car parking in the area and it is always worth looking into parking options beforehand on the local council website. Thanks for your comments, and we hope to see you back in Cornwall soon. Lucy, Customer Services

I suggest you confirm that instruction have been left for all the appliances before I send a review.

We had a fantastic week at Raymond Cottage. It was cosy and warm and sheltered us from Storm Agnes but also has lovely outdoor space. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable and we would love to return.

Wonderful cottage close to Porthleven harbour, amenities and access to cliff walks.

Really great week in Porthleven. Raymond cottage really was well equipped, very clean and comfortable. We had great weather but even if it had rained there was enough space for 5 of us to be at the cottage without an issue. Great to have a second fridge for chilling refreshments. Two TVs downstairs was useful for chill out time. Overall a really lovely place to stay even if parking is a bit of a lottery. It was also odd to have a few bleaty goats living in the next door garden which did affect the peace. It’s a lovely village with great places to eat and drink and really friendly folk. Aspects were excellent throughout. Even help return part of my daughters new pushchair. Thanks
