Holidays in Porthleven

Whatever you love about Cornwall, we’re sure you'll find it while enjoying a holiday in Porthleven. Relax and enjoy the boats bobbing in the harbour, pull on the walking boots and join the coastal path to Rinsey and Praa Sands, take a short drive to nearby Marazion and the iconic St Michael's Mount, or hit the waves and surf until sunset.

This charming fishing town has a relaxing atmosphere; it's gorgeous in the Summer and dramatic during the Winter. The granite harbour and pier with its famous clock tower has become an iconic storm-watching spot during wild wintry weather and offers a tranquil setting on calmer days.

Take a short break out of season in Porthleven and avoid the hubbub on the roads and beaches. Soak up the sun on the harbour front and watch the fishing boats pass by. Catch the first glimpses of colour from the acres of Cornish daffodils in early spring with the sea as a back drop as you drive from coast to coast. With easy access to the coastal footpath, head east to discover Gunwalloe Fishing Cove, Polurnan Cliffs and Mullion Cove or head west and marvel at Praa Sands, Perranuthnoe and Marazion.

Take a short walk from Porthleven and reach the coarse sand of Porthleven beach, reaching two miles south as far as Loe Bar, a sand spit separating the sea and forming Loe Pool, the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall.

Porthleven harbour is an enjoyable place to relax, with its cafés, pubs and restaurants providing the perfect place for you to sit outside and watch the world float by!

Top tip

Like storm watching? Visit in winter and you may be lucky enough to experience huge waves crashing over the clock tower!

Excellent and very clean property. Furnished and maintained to a high standard. Great position and views. Our third visit with more booked !

Second time staying at Hender House and it didn't disappoint. Great location for walking in to Porthleven, and lovely views over the harbour. Spotlessly clean, and good quality equipment throughout. We always managed to get a parking spot on the road opposite. Would highly recommend.

This is not the first time we have stayed at Hender House. It is always presented well .Has all you would ever need. It is quite luxurious really. Aspects always seem to go the extra mile. We enjoyed it very much , we didn't want to leave. Thank you. K.Spencer.

We would recommend Hender House for a perfect stay in Porthleven. It is very clean and well equipped. Furnishings are modern, good quality and comfortable. The upside down bedroom/living space does mean a steep staircase so if you have problems with knees you need to consider this. The front terrace is comfortable and catches the sun for most of the day. The rear garden has a picnic table outside the French doors and there are very steep steps (gated for child safety) to a beautiful upper terrace with benches and loungers. Hender House is a very short walk from the Harbour and all its amenities. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and food outlets around the harbour from fish and chips to Kota AA rosette restaurant, we would also recommend Corner Deli takeaway Pizza.

Hender House was just perfect. Every need was catered for and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. We would definitely stay there again.

Amazing, well equipped property, perfect location to harbour.

The owners have really thought of everything. The House is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The welcome pack: cream team, milk and wine , is a very generous and thoughtful touch. This was our third stay at Hender House, and we are returning in August.

Another lovely stay in Porthleven. Still returning after 14 years.

Our 2nd stay at Hender House which is beautifully furnished & fully equipped with everything you need.

We loved our week at Hender House. We've been coming to Porthleven for over 20 years, but this is the first time we booked with Aspects, and we will do so again.

The property was comfortable, very well appointed and perfectly positioned for my elderly parents, who were able to easily walk to all our favourite places in the village. The welcome package was an unexpected treat and very appreciated.

The fact that we keep returning to Hender House says it all! Beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you would need.

Also very convenient location for shops and restaurants but still wonderful views of the harbour and outer sea.

Have never before stayed in a holiday home that was as clean and welcoming as Hender House. It’s in a great location in Porthleven, with wonderful views, over the rooftops, of the harbour and countryside beyond. Would definitely recommend this property and Aspects Holidays.

Hender House occupies an ideal and quiet spot with good views of the harbour. It is clean & very well presented. Porthleven is very well situated to enable us to visit all our favourite spots on the Lizard, Lands End peninsular, and the wonderful North Cornish coastline from Cape Cornwall to Newquay and Bedruthan Steps.

Just returned from Hender House which is a beautifully well-equipped house in a prime location . Exceptionally clean spacious & warm. Thoroughly enjoyed the welcome pack.

This is an exceptional holiday let. Superbly appointed. Fabulous views & lovely outside areas to relax in. Comfortable, warm & spotlessly clean. Equipped to a high standard. Easy to park within distance of the property. We were lucky to park outside for access to all the lovely places to visit but we were also so happy to stay in porthleven & take advantage of the stunning beach just around the corner. Thankyou to the owners for making this home a most pleasurable stay, also for the welcome pack & as always to Aspects for their outstanding professional & friendly service. We will definitely be back.

A beautifully well-equipped house in a wonderful location. It is a stone’s throw from Porthleven harbour, shops and eateries but quiet with good views.

We have stayed in a number of properties managed by Aspects and have found all the property descriptions to be accurate and Hender House was no different. It is a lovely warm, clean, well equipped upside down cottage with views across the harbour and out to sea. The delightful welcome tray was most welcome after a long journey. There are lots of restaurants in Porthleven however we had to book Kota a couple of weeks in advance to secure the table, the meal was excellent. We can also recommend the Corner Deli who do a great pizza and also Porthleven fish and chips. We would definitely consider Hender House if we stop in Porthleven again.

We have returned to Hender House every year since it became a holiday let. Beautifully presented, immaculately clean and superb position. Equipped throughout with everything you could possibly want.

We loved our time in Hender House. The amount of kitchen equipment and utensils was excellent and made cooking and preparing food an enjoyable experience. The view was stunning and all aspects of the house were extremely comfortable, it was a pleasure to stay in. Knowing Porthleven from previous holidays we were slightly concerned about parking, but needn’t have worried as we managed to park outside Hender house on all occasions. We will definitely look to book again.

The people running Aspects are very efficient, friendly , and keep you well informed. The property was better than we expected. It was very well presented, and more equipment than you could ever require. Overall we enjoyed our holiday very much . Many thanks. K. Spencer

Property easy to find, and even parking available outside when we arrived on a busy Sunday afternoon in July. Immaculately clean, very well stocked and it seems that everything had been thought of, even baking tins and cookery books! There is a huge choice of food available in the town ( 5 mins stroll down the hill) with the numerous shops, cafes and restaurants , as well as two supermarkets. Lovely views from the living room over the harbour and countryside beyond. Steps up to the back terrace may be difficult for those with mobility issues, but the living room and kitchen opens out on to a small patio with table. We sat in the front yard in the evenings, watching the sun go down. Porthleven beach a 5-10 minute walk in one direction and the access to the S W Coast path is just over the other side of the harbour. No complaints whatsoever about our stay. Many thanks to Aspects staff for their help with our last minute booking !

We were delighted to find such a beautiful and well equipped house. The house is in a perfect position for access to the harbour and beach and the views especially the glorious sunsets.

Just returned from Hender House, and we’ve had a brilliant week in Porthleven. Hender house is located just a few minutes stroll downhill to the harbour, in a very quiet street. The property is gorgeously decorated, and was perfect for our family of four, with plenty of space for us all. The upside down nature of the property, with the living room upstairs is great, affording lovely views of the harbour whilst relaxing with a coffee in the morning and a drink evening. Amenities wise, you couldn’t ask for more to be provided for a self catering holiday, right down to washing up liquid and tabs for the washing machine. And the scones, cream and jam waiting for us on arrival was a nice touch. We were apprehensive as there is no allocated parking, but we needn’t have been-we didn’t have an issue parking outside at all, and that was during half term. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this property (and Aspects Holidays) highly enough, and we are already planning our next holiday in Porthleven!
