Genoa is a warm and comfortable little bungalow offering a central base for those wanting to be near the foodie mecca of Porthleven. Easily accessible with private parking, this nautical themed two bedroom bungalow is an ideal base for a small family or couple. A ten minute stroll takes you down to the picture postcard location of Porthleven, where you will be spoilt for choice of where to explore from this dog-friendly property.
With its stunning coves and uncrowded beaches, this harbour town offers plenty to see and do for all ages. After exploring the diverse range of cafes, bars, shops and galleries, head back to the open plan living that your chosen retreat has to offer. With its patio doors that lead out onto the pretty courtyard garden, it really is the perfect spot to end the day.
electric oven and hob, washing machine, table and seating for four, large sofa and arm chair, TV, patio doors leading out onto a private patio.
king size double bed.
zip and link (twin or king) beds.
large walk in shower, WC, basin.
private and enclosed patio, table and seating for four, established raised garden.
there is a communal pathway which goes past bedroom two so occasionally people may walk past, electric heaters throughout, WiFi, up to two dogs welcome, short breaks available.
Genoa was a warm (very warm!!) comfortable 'cottage' in a brilliant, very quiet, location for Porthleven Harbour. The secure outside space was brilliant for our two dogs. The washing machine and tumble drier were really useful during the varied October weather. The addition of a dishwasher would be the icing on the cake, particularly during these COVID times when some are more thorough with washing up than others. Great for exploring the Lizard peninsular and all the beautiful peaceful coves around that coast, and really not too far to venture over to St Ives and the other equally beautiful coast(s).
Mr Hope October 2020
Genoa is a lovely modern warm bungalow with everything you could need. Private parking and pleasant sitting out area. There is a slight hill to walk up from Harbour. We enjoyed a lovely week exploring the area and it was lovely to come ‘home’ to Genoa for a relaxing evening. Looking forwards to next time.

The tradition of Tom Bawcock comes from the feast or famine lifestyle of Cornwall. The story goes that it was just before Christmas; there had been no fish for weeks, the boats couldn’t get out into the raging storm, the village was starving. One man, Tom Bawcock, dared to take his boat out of the harbour’s safety. He returned with enough fish to make fish pie for the whole village.
Today, a festival takes place each year to celebrate Tom Bawcock's bravery. During the festival, Star Gazey pies are eaten in memory of this famous event.

Mrs Clarke Oct 2020
Genoa is a brilliant little bungalow perfectly placed just out from Porthleven harbour. We found it very warm and cozy and didn’t need any heating on. In fact we were opening windows to cool down! It had everything we needed and we will certainly consider using it again as Porthleven is our favourite place in south Cornwall. Aspect Holidays were very good, keeping us informed of important details right from the time we booked to the day we left. Brilliant holiday..
Mrs Bright Oct 2020
Comfortable accommodation with parking in Porthleven is a good find and only a short walk to see the views!
Mrs Hewson Sep 2020
Lovely spacious bungalow , beautifully decorated with all every day essential items that you would need in a perfect location for the four of us and a dog . Nice and quiet and out of the way of hustle and bustle but only a 5 minute lovely little walk down to the harbour, which was great for walking the dog of an evening. Plenty of restaurants , pubs and shops . Porthleven is stunning . Very picturesque. Great location . Only half hour drive to ST Ives and Falmouth or go a little further ( 45 minutes ) to Perranporth beach . We book with aspects every year and would certainly stay here again .
Mrs Goodman Aug 2020
Spacious accommodation in lovely location. Just a short walk down the hill to Porthleven which has a good selection of pubs, takeaways, shops etc. Had a lovely break here, thank you
Mrs Lampshire Aug 2020
Clean and comfortable bungalow. No immediate views but only a short walk to see them and as I holiday a lot in this area Genoa proved a good base with a great price!
Mrs Hewson Jan 2020
A comfortable well equipped apartment that had a generous welcome pack of Cornish tea and coffee. Close to the harbour (5-10 minutes) with pubs, restaurants and takeaways. Ideal location to explore the Lizard and west Cornwall.
Mr Cheeseman Oct 2019
Absolutely delightful location in a charming Cornish fishing village. The daily walks with dog and having to go past The Harbour Inn ( or not!) all made it a very enjoyable week in a bungalow that had everything you could want and more. From the cream tea on arrival to the last day there was nothing else needed.
Mr Crown Sep 2019
A fabulous home away from home within an excellent location and fantastic parking facilities and just a short 5 minute walk to the harbour. As a family plus dog we would highly recommended this property for exploring the local area and this part of the cornish coast as it is very dog friendly. The addition of a cream tea on arrival was a very welcome surprise & went down well with our teenage girls.
Mrs Hill Sep 2019
On the whole a lovely property and v close to harbour (5 min walk) Good facilities Very comfy beds and lovely bed linen Great walk in shower
Mrs Broom Jul 2019

Had another fabulous stay at Genoa. Really dog friendly with an enclosed courtyard garden and just a few minutes walk from porthleven harbour. We will be booking again for next year
Miss Williams Jun 2019
A really lovely property very homely - the cream tea, coffee, tea and milk on arrival a real bonus! Within a short distance to the town/village and parking spaces make it a perfect spot in beautiful Porthleven.
Mrs Kelsall Jun 2019
Enjoyed a great week. Parking definitely a bonus as in town parking is in short supply. Spotless, comfortable and good quality linen and towels. Bit of a climb up from the town but manageable even for two pensioners, the 9 year old grandson couldn't see the problem. Would stay again.
Mr Davies Jun 2019
Great place. Second time we've stayed in Porthleven, as a family with two young children this was a really good choice; bungalow so no stairs, parking in front of the house, and nicely decorated. Beds were easy to move around to make it easier for kids sleeping (including space for a cot). The bungalow, although naturally slightly lacking in charm, was really nicely decorated and was comfy, cosy, and well equipped. A really nice touch with the milk and scones.
The location is brilliant; 5 minutes from the town centre and a very easy walk. Would stay again.
Mr Gatley May 2019
A comfortable, well-equipped property in a great seaside town
Ms Edwards Apr 2019
Very Good Bungalow very well equipped every thing you want is there and parking right out side, There is a small supermarket just down by the harbour plenty places to eat out down and around the Harbour. We thought the Harbour was lovely but the Area it's self did not suit us as we have Disabilities and I don't think Cornwall is very Disable Friendly it's a great county if you are fit but for the Disabled No.

Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay at Genoa and that it provided everything that you needed. Unfortunately, as in many other towns/counties, there are areas that are still not easily accessible for those with disabilities; the suitability of Porthleven will of depend on your level of mobility. As one person's situation and level of mobility will be very different to another, we would always recommend contacting us before booking, and we are very happy to chat to anyone looking to visit Cornwall, to advise on the most suitable properties to book, and any information that the team may have on suitability of areas/places on interest. We have a bit of information here, which also has some useful links for when it comes to planning your holiday here in Cornwall. Once again, thank you for your helpful comments and we are really happy to read that despite the area not suiting you, that you enjoyed Genoa. Tanya, Customer Services

Genoa is set only 5 minutes walk from the tranquil harbour of porthleven. Accessibility is great for anyone and a bonus of 2 parking spaces which can be hard to find nearer the town. The property it’s self is modern, clean and very accommodating for your four legged friend with a secure enclosed garden where they can wander in and out at there own free will.
