Holidays in Porthleven

Whatever you love about Cornwall, we’re sure you'll find it while enjoying a holiday in Porthleven. Relax and enjoy the boats bobbing in the harbour, pull on the walking boots and join the coastal path to Rinsey and Praa Sands, take a short drive to nearby Marazion and the iconic St Michael's Mount, or hit the waves and surf until sunset.

This charming fishing town has a relaxing atmosphere; it's gorgeous in the Summer and dramatic during the Winter. The granite harbour and pier with its famous clock tower has become an iconic storm-watching spot during wild wintry weather and offers a tranquil setting on calmer days.

Take a short break out of season in Porthleven and avoid the hubbub on the roads and beaches. Soak up the sun on the harbour front and watch the fishing boats pass by. Catch the first glimpses of colour from the acres of Cornish daffodils in early spring with the sea as a back drop as you drive from coast to coast. With easy access to the coastal footpath, head east to discover Gunwalloe Fishing Cove, Polurnan Cliffs and Mullion Cove or head west and marvel at Praa Sands, Perranuthnoe and Marazion.

Take a short walk from Porthleven and reach the coarse sand of Porthleven beach, reaching two miles south as far as Loe Bar, a sand spit separating the sea and forming Loe Pool, the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall.

Porthleven harbour is an enjoyable place to relax, with its cafés, pubs and restaurants providing the perfect place for you to sit outside and watch the world float by!

Top tip

Like storm watching? Visit in winter and you may be lucky enough to experience huge waves crashing over the clock tower!

Top floor apartment, third floor, with a great view over harbour and surrounding countryside. Beware if limited mobility as a lot of stairs.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed Blue Dolphin and thank you for your comments. Being in such a fantastic location, perched on the harbourside in Porthleven and enjoying those elevated views, the access to the apartment does involve a walk-up multiple stairs, which may not be suited to all. We try to make this as clear as possible in the description but please do contact us before booking, if mobility is a concern, so that we can help advise. Lucy, Customer Services

Wonderful week at Blue Dolphin. Everything we needed was there, and more. Great communication at all times from Aspect Holidays. Very central accommodation with car parking right by the harbour. Will be back. Elizabeth Urquhart

This is our second trip as a family to Blue Dolphin exactly one year later.

We were blown away by the property when we visited last May and it’s fair to say that on our return visit the property has not only been maintained to a very high standard but actually been improved!!!

Blue Dolphin has such a wow factor and was immaculately clean when we arrived. The apartment is so spacious (for 4 of us), incredibly well appointed with every home furnishing you could need (enough to do the Xmas dinner), an evening sun balcony with stunning views over the harbour and walking distance to everything, including the fantastic Harbour Inn and many other eateries on offer! Oh and a parking space for your daily adventures along the coast if you choose to leave Porthleven (which you don’t need to!!).

We wouldn’t hesitate to book this apartment again and would recommend it to anyone looking to visit Porthleven - I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!! Pity it’s already booked for 2024 ??

The Aspects customer service has been second to none as always too…..

Lovely location, beautiful appartment

Blue Dolphin completely exceeded our expectations. This was our first stay in Porthleven and we didn’t really know the area upon choosing this apartment. The apartment itself is in an amazing location - just off the harbour with a reserved parking space in private car park. You walk through the door and wow it’s enormous!!! So well kitted out, homely, warm and the biggest en suite I think we’ve ever seen - and we’ve not even mentioned the balcony!! We will be back that’s for sure……
