Blue Waters
Newlyn

£485 - £1182 per week
Book

Wake up to views across to St Michael's Mount and beyond from the comfort of Blue Waters king size bed, whilst waiting for the little ones to stir. As the colourful fishing boats gently rock in the harbour, gather round the dining table for a wholesome breakfast and plan the day ahead. Sleeping four with parking and making the most of its elevated position, Blue Waters overlooks the busy fishing port of Newlyn. After a busy day exploring, rest with a chilled glass of wine on the courtyard sofa, while the children play table tennis in the games room. Spend the evening in one of the fine eateries sampling the local produce, before heading home to snuggle up together, playing board games on the comfortable sofa.

Take the short stroll into the heart of the village and visit the several fishmongers to purchase the freshest fish for supper. With pasty and cheese shops, a supermarket, greengrocers and the famous Jelberts ice cream shop, you will find everything you need. Enjoy a hearty lunch at Duke Street Cafe or coffee and cake at Lovetts; a coffee shop by day and wine bar by night. A visit to the wonderful Mackerel Sky fish tapas bar is a must, as is a picnic tea of fish and chips on the green in front of the sea. Newlyn also hosts its own independent cinema and Meadery, along with several restaurants to choose from; you will be spoilt for choice when dining out. A pleasant walk along the promenade leads to Penzance with the outdoor Jubilee Pool, shops, restaurants and galleries. Hop on the bus to the neighbouring quaint village of Mousehole, to spend an afternoon on the beach or head out in the car for more beach adventures only a short drive away. Blue Waters is an ideal choice to explore the best of West Cornwall and make lasting family memories.

October 2024

We had a fabulous week staying at Blue Waters. Newlyn is such a gem of a town. Everything is nearby. Being on a hill helped get the cardio in each day. The house itself is very well appointed. Everything you could need is available, especially for cooking up fabulous seafood meals with ingredients from the local fish mongers. If you want to eat out, you’ll be spoiled for choice, but I highly recommend Mackerel Sky. Don’t let the wait for a table put you off… it’s well worth it.

We look forward to returning to Newlyn and Blue Waters in the future!

Holidays in Newlyn

Newlyn is a traditional Cornish fishing town which is home to one of the largest fishing fleets in the UK. Stroll along the pretty harbourside and you’ll be able to spot beam trawlers, long liners, crabbers and small open boats used for hand-lining.

Experience the buzz of a thriving, hardworking harbour and taste the freshest fish on offer in Cornwall. The harbour is overlooked by white washed and granite Cornish fisherman’s cottages interwoven by narrow lanes and cobbled alleys often too steep or narrow for a car so all you will find is the odd cat basking in the sunshine. Enjoy the buzz of Newlyn’s working harbour, visit Newlyn Art Gallery or the wonderful established gardens with breath-taking views across to the iconic Penzance Jubilee Pool.

Locally caught seafood can be purchased from the bustling fish market, fishmongers or at one of the fantastic harbourside eateries. Escape to Newlyn for a self catering holiday in a peaceful setting, within easy reach of Mousehole, Penzance and St Michael’s Mount.

Top tip

Be sure to treat yourself to a Jelberts ice cream when staying in Newlyn!

Newlyn art community

The Newlyn School is a group of artists who came to live and work in Newlyn or the surrounding area between the 1880s and the early twentieth century. They painted en plein air (in the open air). Perhaps best known are: Stanhope Forbes, Elizabeth Forbes, Walter Langley, Harold Knight, Laura Knight, Harold Harvey. There is much documentation about the school at Penlee House.

The collection is kept at Penlee House rather than the Newlyn Gallery because Newlyn Gallery maintains a tradition of showing modern art.

Newlyn Gallery & Exchange Gallery in Penzance Town Centre host the best of conceptual and modern art. Together with St. Ives Tate and Penlee House the four galleries host major national and international exhibitions, as well as showing the work of the Newlyn School of Art, who offer a wide range of high quality art courses run by some of the most exciting artists in the region. Read more about art classes at Newlyn school of art on our blog. Thus the area which has inspired so many artists celebrates its artistic heritage while maintaining strong links with the art world of today.

We look forward to returning to Newlyn and Blue Waters in the future!

We loved staying at Blue Waters in Newlyn. A house with so much comfort, even if it is on 3 floors. Breakfast with a view of the sea and St. Micheal Mounts is priceless. The apartment is very tastefully decorated and very clean and new, which encouraged us to keep it tidy and clean.

Wow! We have just returned from our first family holiday to Cornwall. I had no idea where to stay but Aspects came up in my searches and then Blue Waters came within our filtered criteria.

The house is lovely, so bright, modern and clean. Newlyn is just perfect to stay in too.

We would highly recommend Aspects and also a stay at Blue Waters in Newlyn.

We have had a really lovely week at Blue Waters. Everything about it is great and the views are amazing. Loved it and would definitely book again if we come back to the same area.

Lovely clean, comfortable, homely place. Plenty to do in the area. Really enjoyed our stay. The neighbours are nice people too. The view from the upper floors are amazing.

Blue Waters is a lovely holiday home, it’s very comfortable, with luxurious fittings and decor and all the equipment you need, To wake up and look out to the harbour and St Michael’s Mount each morning was wonderful. Another bonus was parking by the property when parking is a problem in Newlyn Would we go to Blue Waters again - definitely.

Beautiful accommodation and a great base to explore. We loved the view.

The property was lovely, from its gorgeous views to comfy furnishings. Everything had been thought of. Cream tea on arrival, binoculars to get a better view of the goings on in the Harbour and lots of lovely small touches that made us feel at home. There is nothing we didn’t like about this property. Even though the weather was really unpredictable Blue Waters more than made up for it.

Spotlessly clean, couldn't fault it. Had all appliances and kitchenware you need...and more! Little one loved looking at the harbor and boats with the binoculars. Motion lights on stairs and landing were a winner, especially with a little one. Lovely touch on arrival with the scones, cream and jam and milk in the fridge. Would definitely recommend and hopefully be booking to come back ourselves!!

Blue Waters is located on a hill with amazing views over Newlyn and beyond, the house has everything you can imagine and decorated to a very high standard, every room was comfortable with and cosy. The whole house was spotlessly clean like it was brand new. The parking was great for a medium size car with no issues parking, the games room is a great way to spend some time in if the weather lets you down. All in all we have a fantastic week and would most definitely recommend/return. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay.

We absolutely loved our stay here. A perfect location for walking but also exploring Newlyn and the surrounding villages. We saw the Kurt Jackson exhibition at St Just (stunning). Found a baby seal on Nanjizel beach and visited Cairn Euyn. Sarah attended the Newlyn School of Art, so inspiring. We will certainly recommend this to our friends. I shall certainly miss it!! A huge thank you.

A wonderful stay. Really beautiful place to make our holiday special. Clean, comfy and a bit of luxury. Thank you. Will definitely be back.

This beautiful cottage really is a "home from home"! The owners did a fantastic job in creating exactly the holiday home you are wishing for when staying in Newlyn. A very cozy and comfortable home base with spectacular views, a lot of space over 3 floors, comfy beds with high quality linen. Needless to say that everything was super clean and when entering the house the first thing you noticed was a nice smell to welcome you. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, so a rainy day is rather welcome to enjoy a day in. A very nice welcome package with cream tea, cookies, flowers and a very tasty lemonade made the experience complete. Unfortunately we only had one week, but would have loved to stayed much longer.

What a wonderful home from home. I can’t remember staying in a holiday accommodation before where so much attention was put into detail. We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Waters and were very sorry to have to leave. Highly recommended!!!

Thankyou for an excellent home away from home. The play room was an excellent touch for us as a family- loved the ping pong table. Would stay here again if ever up in the area, beautiful views from the living room and bedrooms and very well equipped and comfy.

Decor, location . They thought of everything.

We were absolutely delighted to come back to beautiful Blue Waters after Covid travel restrictions. Blue Waters is the perfect holiday home from home to explore this wonderful part of Cornwall! We always feel so welcome in this beautifully decorated and furnished house. We love the stunning views across the bay. The kitchen is well equipped and has a nice view of the lovely little garden and the new sitting area. We really loved the new modern bathroom and the lovely bedrooms, too. After an adventurous day discovering Cornwall we could really relax on the comfy sofa and plan the next day.

We loved this house and would definitely stay again. The view out to the harbour is amazing. The quality of furnishings and general comfort and attention to detail was excellent. We enjoyed being able to walk to Newlyn and Penzance easily.

We had a really lovely week at Blue Waters. Very comfortable and well equipped house in a good position with great views. Newlyn is a super spot, especially if you like fish! Would happily return.

This is a beautifully furnished property with a real marine theme. The view of Newlyn harbour from the window is endlessly fascinating. It is a great base for exploring this area of Cornwall, or staying in and watching the magnificent views across the bay if the weather is less good. Also a great place for buying fish to take home! Access is through a narrow entrance and parking definitely not for larger cars.

A lovely cottage - beautifully furnished and with fantastic views of the harbour.

Beautiful property, Amazing views over the harbour.

Light and bright throughout

Blue Waters is a wonderfully comfortable house with fabulous seaviews. There is a car parking space right outside the front door. The games room was very popular with all the family! The garage is so useful - a brilliant space to drop off wetsuits and beach towels that need to dry before venturing out the next day. And the bedrooms are really comfortable, the master bedroom enjoying terrific views of the fishing harbour. Newlyn is very interesting and a visit to the Newlyn Art Gallery, Dukes Cafe and a walk to Mousehole are an absolute must whilst you stay there!

A wonderful stay in this beautiful home. The furnishings and décor are of a very high standard and a lot of love and care has gone into this home. There was everything that we needed and the welcome cream tea, milk and flowers were an extra bonus.

We had a fantastic week despite the wild, wet and windy weather of storm Dennis. There is plenty to do and see in and around Newlyn and the coast was spectacular!

Walking down the very steep hill to the town was not a problem but coming back up was rather a challenge!!

Lovely cottage with comfortable facilities and decor outstanding. Good base to explore Cornwall

Great location and lovely decor, in a quiet neighbourhood close to shops and restaurants. We appreciated the scones and the flowers. The children loved the games room and we enjoyed reading the books and the amazing views. The garage with its laundry machine and dryer were also very convenient. We were happy with everything. As a Dutch family we enjoyed Cornwall with a feeling of being a local. In a very pretty house.

A lovely house with wonderful views day and night. Lovely artwork. Everything you needed was supplied. Good games room with table tennis and Wii U and games for the kids. Good parking

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue Waters. We found the property clean, comfortable and beautifully presented. We loved watching the activity in the harbour and even though the weather was not great, we've managed to get out and explore a lot of what West Cornwall has to offer. Hopefully we'll be back!

Amazing. Beautiful home , views out of this world! I can’t fault it. I wish I could stay there forever x

Brilliant property !! Stunning views of the harbour Lovely photos and décor throughout this well presented property and in a great location to explore the surrounding areas.

the best cottage I've ever stayed in. Cornwall is my home, and I've stayed in many cottages, but I give Blue Water five stars and will be back

From the minute we set foot in Blue Waters we felt totally relaxed and at home. Fully equipped with everything a family could need and a great place to come back to after a busy day at the beach or sight seeing. We will miss this house a lot and hope to come back. Newlyn as an area was fantastic. More residential than holiday resort, which was just what we wanted. Will miss the sounds of the working harbour and the walks we did from there. It was the perfect 2 week break and we all felt totally relaxed and on 'Cornish time' before starting back at work and school.

Love, love, love it. We have stayed in many houses around Cornwall and this was definitely the best for us. Beautifully presented, well equipped and very clean. Glad we have rebooked another week in August. We love the view and have had gorgeous weather for this time of year.

Really beautiful house with amazing views. Decorated very tastefully. So lovely to arrive and be welcomed by a cream tea. Christmas decorations gave a very home-from-home feel. Highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful location with a great view. A very modern and comfy holiday home with everything we needed. Would highly recommend

My husband and I spent a delightful week at Blue Waters at the end of July. When we arrived, we were so impressed by the beautiful view of Newlyn harbour from the living room and master bedroom that we almost didn't notice the lovely vase of carnations left on the table to welcome us. The makings of a proper Cornish cream tea were laid out on a tray in the kitchen, and were so generous it took two sessions to finish them! We loved the décor of the house with the nautical/beach/Cornwall theme present in each room. It was a pleasure to prepare meals in the spacious kitchen. We followed many of the owners' recommendations in their very detailed binder, and so we were able to feast on crab, fish and nettle Yarg, all bought from local merchants. We are so happy we chose to stay in Newlyn as it made it easy for us to explore West Penwith and the Lizard peninsula, much of it walkingon the South-West Coastal Path. And we are especially happy that we had such a beautiful place to come "home" to at the end of every day!

very nice cottage, very comfortable, really nice sea view quiet neighbourhood we had a great time there, we also liked Newquay and the sourroundings nice restaurants in Newquay and also a small supermarket and a few shops

Blue Waters is a lovely home, with a great view over the Newlyn harbour and St. Michaels Mount. It had everything we could have possibly needed and we really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back!

A lovely decorated and furnished home away from home with good books, a great couch, a safe parking spot, situated in a quiet area which is perfect for exploring Cornwall. We loved the views across the bay!

Blue Waters provides excellent holiday accommodation and a great base to explore the local area. The property was spotlessly clean on arrival and is beautifully furnished and decorated. The views over Newlyn harbour and Mount Bay are splendid and provide their own in-house entertainment.
