October 2024

Enjoyed our stay at Mevagissey- quite happy to potter around the town and environs - nice walks - pleasant to watch the comings and goings of the fishing boats - had an “ out of season” feel but that suited us as it wasn’t too busy ,and we were lucky enough to get a ferry trip to Fowey which proved to be delightful as we saw a large group of dolphins feeding…. Only made one car trip out as finding it a bit too much like hard work to negotiate the tight lanes and reversing required these days - but were very happy to enjoy the delights of what we had travelled to see.

Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

Net Loft was very clean, well furnished and comfortable. We found it a bit hard to find when we arrived, but called Aspects who helped. Net Loft is an excellent location for exploring the local area. It is quiet but very close to Mevagissy Harbour, and local shops, pubs and restaurants. We were very pleased with Net Loft and would definitely stay again!

We had a lovely week at Net Loft Cottage. The location is excellent and the parking a bonus.

We found the cottage clean, spacious and well equipped for the two of us.

We only moved our car once during our stay as the roads to access Mevagissey and the cottage are narrow and busy, with two way traffic and pedestrians. However, the cottage is away from the roads and the only noise we heard were the seagulls.

Really lovely cottage so close to the Harbour in Mevagissey - relaxed and chilled and full of old-style village activities and views - loved it ??

Had a great, very sunny 2 weeks in Net Loft. Very clean, good furnishings, equipment & decor. Parking not an issue. Under 5 mins walk to the harbour but noce & quiet. Locals very friendly. We had a perfect holiday, would definitely recommend & stay again.

We have just spent a very nice week in the Net Loft, Mevagissey. The small cottage is great value for money, packs a punch with the facilities available and is perfectly situated in the lovey fishing village. There are plenty of boutique shops and eateries close by to sample. We spent a couple of days locally around Mevagissey as well as a trip to Crantock Beach, St.Austell, Charles Town and St.Mawes. The weather was glorious for our entire stay. We are already looking to book for next year. A big thanks to both the owners and aspects for the flexibility with our booking as we could only do Friday to Thursday. It makes all the difference. We will be back.

Net loft is situated in an excellent position right near harbour but a very quiet location You will never go hungry in Mevagissey so many places to eat also bakers and a convenience store. We found the locals very friendly, it’s lovely that Mevagissey is still a working harbour so you can sit and watch it all going on. So many places to visit from there it’s needs a few more hols. Brian & Carol

We very much enjoyed our week at the net loft. A very short walk to the harbour which we liked, where there were plenty of little shops and places to eat. Parking was great to have, although a little tight with having a large car. The cottage was very clean and beautifully set out. We had a couple of beach days at nearby Pentewan and at Caerhays/porthluney bay which was our favourite as it was perfect for getting our paddle board out. Also visited Eden project, Par market, Charles town and Pendennis castle. There's so much to do a week isn't long enough!

Easy to find and fantastic central location. Onsite parking is a massive plus when you have children to unload. And is really not so tight unless you're trying to park a huge car

Quiet although a few steps from harbour. Twin room is small but my daughter loved sleeping so close to me. Spacious bathroom to clean the kids.

We visited lots of beautiful beaches nearby so needed to dry kit. Perhaps some hooks or a small washing can be added.

Loved our stay and even in 35 degrees the place was cool

We have just returned him from a brilliant week stay in Net loft. The cottage is situated in a prime location only 2 minutes from Mevagissey shops and harbour. The accommodation was just as described, with everything you would need for a break away. On arrival Net loft was clean and tidy, the parking and access through the village is a bit tight, but we had no issues navigating around with our 4x4, just need to take it slowly! Mevagissey is such a lovely place, with plenty of restaurants to eat and drink in, we will definitely book net loft again on our return to the area.

We chose Net Loft because we wanted dedicated parking and it is very convenient for the town and amenities. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and attractive. We would definitely consider staying here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Net Loft. The cottage is in a perfect location as it is in a quiet spot, whilst still being a very short walk to the centre of Mevagissey. We have no hesitation in recommending Net Loft as a lovely place to stay.

Not our first time in Mevagissey but our first stay at Net Loft. It's a real home from home! Comfortable, clean and has everything you need. A great base for exploring the area and close to the harbour where there's plenty of places to eat and drink. As previous reviews have said the parking is rather tight but as long as you take it slow we had no problems getting in and out at all.

A gem of a place, fully fitted clean and cosy with parking!

Great place to stay but if you have large 4x4 with long wheelbase it could be extremely difficult to park. Location difficult to find best to park and walk first because one way system makes you go round a long way if you miss it at first.

Perfect little cottage in a perfect location. Not having been to Mevagissey before I had no idea how lucky we were to find somewhere with parking - yes its tight in a big car, but just take it slow and its totally fine. We loved it and will definitely return one day.

Our second stay at Net Loft. Spotlessly clean on arrival and everything we needed.

Fantastic central location and parking is a massive bonus.

Thanks so much Graham and Esther.

Excellent location Clean and tidy cottage Comfortable beds and sofas 2nd bedroom is small Parking is tight

Net Loft is a hidden gem!!! We are a family of 4 and it was plenty big enough. My boys are 10 and nearly 14 and we never once felt cramped. The parking space is a bonus it isn't that tight yes awkward but absolutely fine. The house is beautiful the pictures do not do this property justice. The little added extras were the icing on the top. The lady who lives in the courtyard is so friendly and helpful. The whole holiday was perfect and made extra special coming home to net loft.

Lovely little cottage in Meva! Beautifully decorated with everything you need for a weeks stay! Immaculately clean! Minutes walk from the village and coastal path! Would highly recommend!

A beautiful, well equipped and spotless cottage. Couldn’t have asked for better location - nice and quiet yet just around the corner from the harbour with the lovely pubs and restaurants. A wonderful base foe exploring this part of Cornwall and a massive plus was having a parking space which is priceless in Mevagissey ! I would, without hesitation, recommend Net loft for an exceptional Cornish holiday experience.

A lovely and comfortable cottage, so convenient and close to the harbour and restaurants of Mevagissey. Well equipped kitchen and good beds although the twin room is small. The main bonus was having a parking space at the door

Lovely cottage, great location with parking. Thoroughly enjoyable stay and would highly recommend!

Fantastic location with plenty of Pubs and restaurants within minutes walk. Central location and is great location for walks and the whole village is pet friendly. Will defiantly return. Accommodation has everything you would want and is furnished to a very good standard.

Net Loft was very clean and modern. The kitchen and the living area was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. The car park space was great, although tricky to manoeuvre out it was just about manageable. We tend to eat in a lot so the lack of pots and pans was a problem. Sleeping arrangements where ideal for a couple, but would be a struggle for four adults due to the size of the second bedroom

We are glad that you liked it here and thank you for your helpful comments. We hope that the bedroom arrangements were still what you had expected; we try to make it as clear as we can on the website description, as the 2nd bedroom is only really suitable for children. We have since added a note on the website to highlight that some manoeuvring may be required to get out of the parking area, and we will check on the number of saucepans when we next inspect the property. Thank you for your helpful comments. Tanya, Customer Services

An ideally located, very clean & comfortable cottage albeit property lacking in natural light due to parking position right in front of lounge window - thus no view. Access to the property extremely tight for a large SUV & much care needed by a confident driver in gaining access in/out. All in all a lovely base for a great holiday in Mevagissey.

Excellent property in a beautiful village, with lots of restaurants bars & cafes . And having fantastic weather was a bonus! ??

We really enjoyed our week staying at Net Loft, it is in the heart of Mevagissey and yet very quiet and relaxing. The cottage is very cosy and well equipped. It is a big bonus to have parking although it is rather tight if you have a large car. There are some really nice pubs and restaurants all within a few minutes walk. We did some great walks too, although most start with an uphill climb!. If you have not been to Mevagissey before it is very quaint and lovely, just be prepared for the very tight and narrow roads in town.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Net Loft - superb location (very close to the centre of the town but quiet and peaceful), clean, comfortable and cosy interior and excellent value for money. Parking was also a definite bonus. Aspects provided fantastic service and we would definitely recommend them.

We loved Mevagissey and our stay in Net Loft. Great to have parking outside the cottage. There are lots of interesting and varied gift shops, places to eat, good bakery (Martins) and fresh meat and veg shops. We recommend the local Hogs Pudding.

The working harbour and meandering narrow streets are very attractive and a quirk of Cornwall and very much, for us, part of it's charm.

This was our first stay in Mevagissey and we will certainly return in the future.

Great place and location but a lot more care required in house prep (towels, toilet roll, hand soap etc).

We are really sorry if the property hadn't been prepared to the high standards that you would expect. Following on from monitoring standards and feedback, the owners of Net Loft have had a change in housekeeper. We are glad to see that you had otherwise enjoyed this property and the great location within Mevagissey. Tanya, Customer Services

Absolutely wonderful location and property. We felt extremely comfortable here and loved our stay. We had originally booked for 4 adults but due to the very small second bedroom (two single beds that fill the whole room with a doorway), 2 guests had to find another properly to stay in for the duration. I'd recommend it for 2 adults alone or a family with young children.

We absolutely loved staying here and will hopefully be back one day!

A lovely house and great location in a lovely harbour village, with all shops and many eateries within a couple of minutes walk. Really enjoyed the stay.

Great cottage, parking is a bonus but is pretty tight. Location is fabulous just a short walk from the harbour.

Cottage was beautiful Lovely location being just a short stroll to the bars shops restaurants and harbour First time we’ve stayed in Mevagissey and loved it Definitely would book this cottage again

Great little cottage with everything you need, in a great location for mevagissey.

But twin room small so dosent fit tall teenagers. Ideal for couples or if you have smaller children

Would definitely return alone without the kids.
