Very happy with service from Aspects. The Boathouse was a great property very spacious with everything you need. The house was only a 5 minute walk to the beach and there was a shop selling most things and a really good fish & chip shop take away with tables inside. Great walks either way to dodman point or Portmellon with spectacular views. Overall 10 out of 10 and would love to stay again.

September 2025

The Boathouse is absolutely beautiful.

We stayed here for one week towards the end of August with our two young children and we couldn’t have been happier.

The house itself is spacious, well equipped, and has a genuine lovely feel about it.

It is fantastically located a short 5 minute walk to Gorran Haven beach (a perfect distance when carrying lots of children’s beach toys - or tired children at the end of the day!) and is also a short car trip to other nearby scenic beaches such as Hemmick and Caerhays.

The house was spotlessly clean, and the welcome basket with tea, coffee, biscuits and fresh flowers was a lovely gesture on arrival.

This was our first time booking a property via Aspects, and found the team to be very helpful and friendly.

A wonderful holiday!

Holidays in Gorran Haven

Situated on the South coast of Cornwall, the quaint fishing village of Gorran Haven is a real hidden gem. Nestled into the coastline, this sleepy cove is truly secluded and sought after for a relaxing holiday. With a sandy cove, a friendly café, and forming part of the Roseland trail along the coastal path, this village offers all that’s needed for a calm and restful holiday.

The ancient fishing village of Gorran Haven, once busy and thriving, was more important to the Cornish fisherman than Mevagissey. Nowadays however, the village and its residents enjoy a much slower pace of life. Visitors to the village can expect a relaxed and restful holiday, enjoying time on the beautiful sandy cove, kayaking along the shores and enjoying handmade food at The Little Mermaid Beach Café.

Did you know...

The village was formerly known as Portheast?

Things to do in Gorran Haven

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing break or a family-friendly holiday, the small village of Gorran Haven has more to offer than it may at first appear. Whether you’re looking to sunbathe on the sheltered sands of the cove, ramble along the coast path or Kayak across the crystal clear waters, you’re sure to happily fill your time.

Kayaks and stand up paddle boards can be hired at Gorran Haven, so there’s no need to travel far to collect your equipment. Paddle west for an hour or so and you’ll find Vault beach, a long stretch of shingle sand. Alternatively, a relaxed 45 minute paddle east will lead you to the picturesque Portmellon, where you can stop for a bite to eat at The Rising Sun pub.

There are walks aplenty from the village of Gorran Haven. For a short walk, you can take the coastal path from the village to Vault beach and back, in around half an hour. For those looking for a longer walk, continue along the coastal path from Vault beach past Dodman Point, until you reach Hemmick Point. This route then returns inland via Penare Farm, Treveague and down into the valley to Gorran Haven. For the more adventurous, instead of returning to Gorran Haven at Hemmick Point, the coastal path can be followed all the way to St Mawes! Alternatively, the coastal path can be taken east to Mevagissey, or further onwards to Charlestown

Of course, if you choose to stay in Gorran Haven, then you simply must explore the quaint village, enjoy locally sourced food at the Mermaid Beach Café, or a delicious meal at the fantastic Lllawnroc Hotel. The Cakebreads Café is a cute little café, which is popular with locals, and is a great spot to enjoy a Cornish cream tea. Treat yourself to a lazy day enjoying the picturesque cove and quirky village of Gorran Haven and enjoy the slower pace of Cornish life.
