Dive into a more relaxed lifestyle at Rolling Tides, a funky hideaway with lovely sea views. The balcony is the perfect spot to look out over Porth beach and across the headland towards Newquay, or cosy up in the comfortable living area and watch the view from inside with a hot drink. Check the surf or just enjoy watching the waves and the plethora of wildlife. Take time to watch the gannets fish and the gulls soar, you may even be lucky enough to spot dolphins or a passing whale. Two comfortable bedrooms as well as two bath/shower rooms ensure that everyone can be ready early for a day out in this exciting part of Cornwall. The sitting/dining area is a great space for families and friends to enjoy meals together or just relax on the electric reclining sofas. Four legged friends are also very welcome and looked after at Rolling Tides and will love the proximity to Porth beach.

Newquay is a short drive away offering something for everyone. Pottering around the shops, surfing, or a day on one of the stunning beaches, there is always something going on. Watergate bay is just a stroll away along the stunning coastal path with fabulous views and a choice of eateries for a well deserved coffee or ice-cream. Well located for exploring nearby towns such as St Agnes or Perranporth, even the more tranquil south coast is an easy drive for a day of sailing or calmer seas.

PLEASE NOTE: There is scaffolding erected at Zenith Apartments to aid in exterior cleaning works. This scaffolding is expected to be erected early April 2025, and is expected to be up until late June 2025. This does impact views. Please contact Customer Services for more information.

Holidays in Porth

With a beautiful, sandy and sheltered beach on the doorstep, and only a 15-minute walk from everything Newquay has to offer, the area of Porth is ideal for a relaxing holiday by the sea.

Porth has an interesting history, dating back centuries. Porth Island, also known as Trevelgue Head was the site of an Iron age fort, with remains still evident today, dating back to the Bronze age. The beach also played a vital role when Newquay became a china clay port; importing coal from south Wales.

Top tip

Pack a picnic and enjoy a day at the beach!

Beaches

Porth

The sandy, sheltered Porth beach is one of Newquay's finest, and with a vast expanse of sand and plenty of rock pools at low tide, it's perfect for a family day at the beach. It's also lifeguarded between 10am and 6pm during the summer months. To the east of the beach you'll find Porth Island, featuring evidence of an iron age settement, and accessible only via a narrow foot bridge!

Whipsiderry

Whipsiderry is great for exploring, with plenty of rock pools to keep you busy. Although the steps down to the beach are a little tricky to negotiate, it's well worth the journey. Plus - this beach is dog friendly all year!

Things to do

Walking

One of the best walks is the coastal path, you can follow this to Watergate Bay, and if you're up to it, all the way to Mawgan Porth. You'll experience breathtaking views, and if you're lucky, you may even see some sea life!

Shopping

Roo's Beach in Porth, is a high-end fashion and lifestyle shop where you'll find stylish clothes, shoes, make-up, stationary, candles, crockery, blankets and more.

Further afield, Newquay high street has a range of shops where you'll find everything you need from food, to toiletries, to gifts.

Other activities

If you're looking for something more active to do, you can try out zorbing at Cornwall Zorbing Park

Alternatively, if relaxation is what you're looking for, the spa at Sands resort is open to the public.
