As proud members of Children's Hospice South West’s (CHSW) Business Club, we’re always delighted to support their fantastic work. Previously, we have donated over £3000 to the hospice and volunteered at their famous Rainbow Run.

Therefore, when we heard that Lusty Glaze in Newquay was holding their annual post-Christmas Toy Amnesty in aid of CHSW, we knew we wanted to get involved. Turning their beachfront cafe into a drop-off point for almost a month, Lusty Glaze collected donations of new and pre-loved toys for CHSW. The toys collected will either be sold in their charity shops to raise funds for the hospice or used at the hospice itself, providing hours of fun for families using the facilities there.
Back at our HQ, we put out a call to action, asking our team to sort through their kids’ toys and donate any they no longer need or want. With Christmas not long behind us, it was the perfect chance to pass on any unwanted gifts, or toys that have been left behind in favour of the shiny new Christmas presents.

We were delighted by the response from our team, who brought in toy cars, games, soft toys, books and more; we watched as the dedicated donations boxes filled up and then overflowed at our HQ.
Several members of the charity council loaded up their cars and headed to Lusty Glaze to drop off our collection of donations. As thanks for helping with their Toy Appeal for CHSW, they each received a yummy hot chocolate at Lusty Glaze’s beachfront cafe!

Every year Lusty Glaze organises their fantastic Toy Amnesty, offering customers a free cuppa (in partnership with Cornish Coffee) in exchange for donations. This coming together of businesses demonstrates the spirit of the Cornish community and is a heartwarming way to support CHSW.
Chair of the Charity Council, Gemma Taylor, said “We were delighted to be able to help with the toy appeal for Children's Hospice South West. As well as supporting the charity, giving toys a second lease of life aligns with our values to care for the environment and consider our impact on the planet.”
If you have any toys looking for a new home, you can donate pre-loved or new toys, books and games to any of the 30 Children’s Hospice South West charity shops.
