First held in 2022, Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust’s one-day blue light festival, Helifest, is a fun-filled celebration of Cornwall’s emergency services, held in the grounds of Scorrier House. Highlighting the incredible work undertaken by blue light services across Cornwall, Helifest invites members of the public to learn more about the county’s rescue services while having a great day out.

On a very hot and sunny day in June, a group of us from Aspects Holidays headed to Scorrier House and joined the team from Cornwall Air Ambulance, who were already on site. Following a safety briefing, we were set to work hanging banners, hammering spikes into the ground, putting up flags and gazeboes, and so much more! Paul even helped to construct the stage!

At the end of the day, after hours of hard work in the sun, we were rewarded not only with the satisfaction of a job well done, but the knowledge that we had helped to make Helifest 2026 a success. We also enjoyed a pasty lunch and plenty of cups of tea and ice-cold water throughout the day! We may have been hot and tired, but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Fundraising Officer, Jen Morgan, expressed her thanks, 'We were delighted to once again have Aspects Holidays on board with our mission to create Helifest, our annual blue light family festival at Scorrier House. Thank you so much for your time, energy and passion for Cornwall Air Ambulance, your contribution played an important part in making the event such a positive and memorable day'.

Some of the team from Aspects Holidays enjoyed a day out at Helifest 2026, which saw almost 5000 people attend the event, a fantastic outcome for the charity. Money raised from the day will go towards ensuring Cornwall Air Ambulance can continue to provide life-saving critical care across Cornwall.

Content and Marketing Coordinator for Aspects Holidays, Jenna Ali, attended Helifest with her family after volunteering the day before “We had a fantastic day out, it was wonderful to see the event come to life with live music, emergency vehicles and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. The kids loved being able to take a closer look at police cars, fire engines, ambulances, blood bikes and, of course, the main attraction, the shiny red air helicopter!”
