A famous maritime town with an internationally recognised arts community, Falmouth’s creativity and ties to the ocean are also reflected in its exceptional selection of restaurants. Including everything from fine dining experiences to some of the world’s best seafood spots and international eats, here’s our round-up of the best restaurants in Falmouth.
The Boathouse

Best for: Dog-friendly vibes and great food
Beacon Street, Trevethan Hill, Falmouth TR11 2AG
Falmouth is full of fantastic pubs (with more than ten on the town's high street alone!), so it’s no surprise one has made it onto our pick of the town’s top restaurants. The Boathouse is not only one of Falmouth’s best dog-friendly pubs, but it’s also a great spot for lunch or dinner – with juicy burgers, freshly caught seafood, delicious fish pies and a range of tasty veggie options rounding off the menu. And if you visit on a Sunday, you’ll be met with one of the best Sunday lunches in Falmouth. The Boathouse is a feast for the eyes too, with views over the peaceful waters of Falmouth Harbour and across the river towards Flushing. If that weren’t enough, it’s also a freehouse with an extensive choice of local ales, beers, and wines to wash down your choice from the menu.
Hevva!
Best for: Neighbourhood seafood hangout
33 High Street, Falmouth TR11 2AD
You’ll find Hevva! tucked up Falmouth’s Old High Street (also one of the best areas for independent shops and antiques in Falmouth). Named after the old coastal lookout’s cry, which used to signal the presence of fish to the fishermen below, their menu rotates regularly to reflect the day’s catch. Hevva!’s focus is on simple fish and shellfish dishes, where the ingredients are cooked to perfection in order to shine. We love the venue, which is small and cosy, giving a neighbourhood hangout feel – this also means it’s best to book ahead to be sure you get a table.
CULTURE

Best for: Sustainable fine dining
38B Arwenack Street, Falmouth TR11 3JF
A farm-to-table restaurant, CULTURE is probably Falmouth’s most high-end restaurant. If you’re looking for a truly unique culinary experience, booking a table here will take you on a journey through the Cornish landscape and along its coast, with each course paired with a nature-inspired story. Some stories introduce you to Cornish flora and fauna, while others introduce you to local suppliers – and all of them are accompanied by top-quality food using only the best local ingredients. Provenance is the heart of everything at CULTURE, so expect a menu inspired by seasonality and what produce can be farmed or foraged nearby.
Restaurant MINE

Best for: Laidback restaurant with tasty eats
Old Brewery Yard, High Street, Falmouth TR11 2BY
Just over the road from Hevva! in the Old Brewery Yard, Restaurant MINE follows a similar ethos, but serves dishes from both land and sea. They offer a small menu, which again, depends on what produce is available locally. Expect simple dishes with a contemporary twist, like salt fish scotch egg or wild Cornish rabbit – and a cosy atmosphere making for a laidback restaurant with exceptional food. In the warmer months, we love the outdoor seating area in the cobbled courtyard, which has an almost European buzz to it, as it is also home to one of Falmouth’s trendiest bars – The Chintz.
Ukrainian Soul
Best for: Hearty Ukrainian comfort food
12 Market Street, Falmouth TR11 3AE
For casual comfort food, Ukrainian Soul’s home-cooked hearty borsch and filling stews bring Eastern European flavours to the Cornish coast. Using hand-me-down family recipes, everything about the restaurant is authentic, including the traditional decor, homemade bread for sale, and choice of flavoured nalyvka (vodka-based liqueurs) to accompany your meal. If you’re unsure of what to order (there’s lots of choice!), the staff are happy to help, or you can pick multiple dishes to share so you can try more of the delicious menu. Favourites include cabbage rolls, deruny (potato pancakes), and traditional Ukrainian dumplings.
Wilder Kitchen

Best for: Delicious plant-based curry
48 Church Street, Falmouth TR11 3EA
A plant-based Indian kitchen, Wilder is one of Falmouth’s hidden gem restaurants tucked away down one of the town’s side alleys. Serving only thalis (think Indian tapas) as the main dish, each week, owner Bradley infuses new ingredients into the menu, packing a flavourful punch across a range of salads, curries, and fragrant rices. Sides include homemade bhajis and caraway bread, with the beauty of a small menu meaning each bite perfectly complements the next. Space is limited, so get there early or book ahead.
The Fish Cabin
Best for: Intimate seafood restaurant
2 Quay Street, Falmouth TR11 3HH
Specialising in locally sourced, freshly cooked seafood, The Fish Cabin brings all your fishy favourites, including tender scallops, native Fal oysters, daily catch fish, lobster, and crab. Just a stone’s throw from the water in the heart of town, it’s in a great location next to some of Falmouth’s best pubs, and seafood is landed just a few metres away from the restaurant’s front door. Expect an intimate setting with muted lighting, perfect for a romantic meal (though it’s also a great place to break bread with friends) and an excellent rotating wine menu with bottles perfectly paired with the menu.
The Meat Counter

Best for: Juicy handmade burgers
25 Arwenack Street, Falmouth TR11 3JE
Tuck into handmade burgers using local ingredients with a trip to The Meat Counter on Falmouth’s high street. There’s a huge choice of button-bursting patties on the menu and a range of loaded fries, along with your favourite American side dishes (think mac n cheese, slaw, and chicken dippers). Despite the name, there’s also a great choice for veggies and vegans too – with seitan and sweet potato patties on offer. We love the decor, where record covers and old western movie posters adorn the walls, plus the fact that everything is sourced locally, including artisan buns, Cornish grass-fed beef and much more.
Indidog

Best for: Modern food with sea views
28A Market Street, Falmouth TR11 3AT
Overlooking the harbour, Indidog brings brunch, lunch, dinner and Sunday roasts to one of Falmouth’s most scenic settings. Choose from a cosy corner to enjoy a bottle of wine and some sharing plates, or opt for a proper sit-down meal with multiple courses of contemporary European cuisine with bold flavours. Think locally landed fish, meat, and veggie options, plus a rotating specials board using seasonal ingredients. One of our favourite restaurants with sea views in Falmouth, Indidog strikes the perfect balance between classy and cosy – with stylish interiors and top-notch food, yet still offering a dog-friendly and casual space.
Robo
Best for: Asian fusion
2 Bank Place, Falmouth TR11 4AT
If you’re looking for more international eats, Robo serves the finest contemporary Japanese cuisine (with a little Korean and Vietnamese influence). This trendy hangout brings the usual choice of sushi rolls, delicious ramen, katsu and donburi, along with Vietnamese-inspired BanhMi rolls and a few Korean side dishes. Don’t forget to check out the specials board near the counter too for more lip-smacking flavours.
Cha Cha Cha
Best for: Bottomless brunches with Latino flavours
38 Arwenack Street, Falmouth TR11 3JF
Immerse yourselves in the flavours of Latin America at Cha Cha Cha’s restaurant and cocktail bar. We love the vibrant interiors, which are full of colour, and the explosion of flavours on their menu – including a choice of tacos and rice bowls, tapas dishes and quesadillas. Other options include their hearty seafood platter or a range of filling salads. Cha Cha Cha is also one of the best bottomless brunch spots in Cornwall, where punters can choose from a brunch dish, main dish or tapas with a side, and combine it with beers, wine or Cha Cha Cha’s fantastic, freshly made cocktails.
Harbour Lights

Best for: Award-winning fish and chips
Arwenack Street, Falmouth TR11 3LH
If you’re looking to partake in one of Cornwall’s most beloved meals, then a visit to one of the best fish and chips restaurants in Falmouth is a deep-fried must. Home to an award-winning menu full of perfectly crispy fish, fluffy chips, and an array of dips to get the mouth watering, Harbour Lights is the place to go for the nation’s favourite dish. The vegan menu is rather impressive too, with vegan fish and fishcakes promising a salty treat, while veggie sausages and Quorn nuggets ensure there’s something for everyone. While takeaways are always popular here, the sea-view restaurant is a great place to enjoy a meal, as the menu boasts some excellent deals - whether you want unlimited tea (always) or some fizz to go alongside your fish!
Fuel Café & Restaurant
Best for: Breakfast at any time of day
35-37 Arwenack Street, Falmouth TR11 3JG
If you’re looking for a brekkie without the booze, Fuel on Falmouth’s main high street is a great way to start the morning. But if you’re running late, fret not – their pancakes, choice of English breakfasts, and other favourites like eggs Benedict are available all day. They also serve top-notch 100% arabica coffee, roasted locally, and from noon onwards, you’ll find burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and salads on the menu using fresh local ingredients. Choose from indoor seats with quirky welcoming decor or people-watch from one of the small outdoor tables sat in a prime position on the high street.
