Cornwall has some of THE best Christmas light displays (we may be slightly biased!) but if you want to bask in the festive glow, we highly recommend you visit the following places:
Mousehole is probably most well-known for its Christmas lights. It’s estimated that over 4000 bulbs and 5.5 miles of wire are used to power the display, which is now in its 48th year.
Switch on: 17th December
Angarrack (near Hayle) Christmas lights celebrates its 25th anniversary this year with a specially designed Christmas light to accompany the ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ story.
Switch on: 3rd December
Celebrate the festive season with a visit to the quaint fishing town of Padstow for its Christmas switch on. Visit the weekend after the lights have been turned on and you’ll find a fantastic Christmas market, cookery demonstrations and a Santa Fun Run.
Switch on: 27th November
Christmas Festival: 2nd – 4th December
Not one to do things by half, Falmouth’s Christmas light switch on also includes a town parade, jugglers, firewalkers, marching bands, lanterns and craft stalls.
Turn on date: 1st Dec
The Helston light switch-on will be followed by fantastical fireworks. Roads close at 5:30pm but the actual switch on is at 7pm.
Switch on: 25th November
The Christmas light switch-on coincides with the Truro City of Lights parade. A brilliant, family-friendly event that you don’t want to miss.
Switch on: 16th November
