The beach is ideal for family picnics, sandcastle building, beach games and paddling, and the waves are great for surfers and bodyboarders. Great surf and surf hire facilities are on your doorstep along with the coast path and spectacular scenery. Read about surfing in Praa Sands on our blog: Ten of the best surf spots in Cornwall.

Praa Sands’ nine-hole golf course is only minutes away, or for those who prefer a bit of history, Pengersick Castle is a short walk away where there are plenty of stories about the wrecking and smuggling that took place in the bay until the 18th century. Right on the beach is Sandbar, a modern and bright restaurant/bar with magnificent views across the ocean.

Praa Sands is commonly pronounced 'Pray' Sands.

ELOWEN

This was our second stay at Elowen and would certainly stay again. It it a lovely property, well equipped, very clean and has parking outside the door.

You have to be careful with the access road to the house, but we have a fairly large car, almost 5 metres in length and had no problems.

Great spacious property with a practical layout and aesthetic furnishings. Ideally located for exploring the west of Cornwall. Handy parking spaces and storage solutions for belongings whilst there. Very fluffy towels!

We have just had a lovely holiday and we continue to use Aspects who have a lot of varied cottages to rent. We will be down to Cornwall again this year and are looking at booking next year too.

Very nice and spacious property in a lovely quiet spot that seemed to be 30 minutes from anywhere when we asked google for travelling times. Had a lovely 3 weeks, weather a bit grim at times but had a fantastic time. Would definitely recommend this property and hopefully we will return at some point.

Excellent property well fitted out very good position

Always a very good experience accomodations is excellent area very central for travel to all area's have been coming to Elowen for the last 6 years excellent

Great location for St Michael’s Mount, Porthleven, Penzance, Helston and not far from St Ives (definitely recommend the train from St Erth). The house is only a couple of years old and is decorated in a very light and airy style. Super amount of space. Just beware the narrow access off the main road to the property - it is pretty tight but totally doable with care. Parking is a real bonus.

It's great to hear you had a lovely stay at Elowen. This semi-rural property is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life but close enough to easily access some beautiful towns and beaches nearby- the best of both worlds! It is quite typical in these sorts of locations to find properties with smaller access lanes, which may not suit everyone, so we try to warn of this in the website description. We do hope this was what you had expected. Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. Lucy, Customer Services

Great location! House clean and excellent size, would book again

Fantastic cottage, Beautifully presented, equipped with all you would need. Very clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend.

Elowen is a lovely modern property, it’s spacious, very well equipped and really clean.

It has a quiet outside area to relax in and excellent parking for 2 cars.

We had a great stay and would definitely look to stay at Elowen again soon.

Always a great place to stay well situated to go anywhere along the coast

Very clean property in a quiet village. Stone throw away from several nice beaches. Perfect place for a getaway. It's our second time booking this property and will look to book again for our next visit to Cornwall. Would highly recommend for couples and family.

Had a lovely week at Elowen, property is finished to a high standard in a good location for the coast and local beaches. Will definitely return.

Modern well equipped house set back up a lane off the Penzance - Helston road This was our second stay at the property and would certainly stay there again.

Great property had everything we needed and a perfect location for the beach and to explore the surrounding area. Thank you already booked our next stay.

Comfortable and spacious property in quiet location with pleasant outside area. Lots of lovely places to visit nearby and only a short walk to the coastal path. We really enjoyed our stay at this property and would consider returning in the future.

An amazing house and an amazing holiday. We will definitely come back again. Fantastic to have two parking spaces and able to come and go without any issues. The bedrooms were lovely and comfortable and great to actually have a washing line…

We loved our stay at Elowen. The size and comfort of the property was great. Very well equipped too. The location was perfect for discovering areas along that side of Cornwall. Very local beaches are Rinsey Cove is a great beach just a short drive/walk away. Although to get to the beach is a bit tricky (climb down). No cafe or toilets. Praa Sands was a few miles away and easier access either down steps from one car park a slope and steps down from the other car park. Shop, cafe/restaurant and toilets. We had an supermarket delivery on arrival which was very handy. There was a Co-op a few miles away if needed. We visited a pub in the next village which was served lovely food and had a play area for the children. We’d definitely consider returning to Elowen.

Modern, light and airy holiday home in central location for all of West Cornwall. Had a fantastic holiday and would definitely stay again.

Had a wonderful stay at Elowen. Excellent position, nicely presented and have already booked another two weeks. Found beds very comfortable and really didn’t want to leave. Looking forward to our next stay.

Wonderful stay, wonderful location, wonderful weather for March. We got lucky this time!

Had a good holiday at Elowen .2nd time very well placed on the Penzance toHelston road. Midway ideal for visiting lots of areas. Will book again in the future

We really enjoyed our stay in this virtually brand new three bed house which is nicely presented. Well located to visit places such as the Lizard and west Cornwall but you will require a car to get around as none of the attractions are within walking distance. We would have no qualms whatsoever in staying here again.

Excellent house very modern good position already booked another 4weeks

Lovely property, nice and quiet and not too far from specific point of interest. Would definitely recommend it for families and couples. Very modern property with a tidy garden and a great parking space right next to the property. Would definitely look to stay at this property again for our next visit.

Smart and spacious property with all the equipment you will need. Car essential, but location is very handy for West Cornwall attractions etc. Excellent value for money, and great service from Aspects as usual.

Beautiful house. Well equipped. Good parking. Easy access by car to all the beautiful areas, such as Marazion and Porthleven. Would recommend this house and would be more than happy to stay again.

Perfect holiday home! Very nice modern house that was well furnished to make our stay comfortable with everything we needed for the week (including all kitchen appliances for basic cooking). Ideal location for visiting all the sights around south/west Cornwall, most things less than half an hour away. Not a lot in Ashton but only a 5 minute drive to the beach. We had a great week here, will definitely be recommending to friends and would be more than happy to stay here again.

Very modern property, bright and spacious and contained everything we needed for our stay. A short drive to Praa Sands beach which was lovely. The garden area was well kept too. We had a great holiday at Elowen.

Elowen is tucked away to rear of properties off a side road and is a new property which is equipped with everything you could need. We had a lovely week stay in June this year and was a great base for exploring this part of Cornwall. Would happily return although we like to go to different locations for holidays as a preference. Car is essential to get around as approximately 1.5 miles from nearest beach but not an issue for us and good road network to get to all the nice places to visit in this area of Cornwall.

Whilst we had an enjoyable family break we were very aware of noise from busy road close by. House bright and new so pleasant to be in though it is rather enclosed by near neighbours. As property is away from the beaches etc a car was necessary to leave the house with young children.

We are sorry if the location of this property had not been what you had expected as we would always want to meet, if not exceed all your expectations when booking a property through us. We try to show and describe the location as clearly as we can within the description and with the map on the property page. Elowen is set within a very peaceful residential area. Whilst the small lane on which it is situated (Prospect Place) is set some way back, it does run parallel to the main road between Helston and Penzance. We hope that you agree that this is something that makes this property so ideal for visiting this area; it is far away enough from that road that you do not experience obtrusive road noise, just some background noise whilst out in the garden; but it is close enough that you can easily access many beaches, towns and villages, such as Porthlevan, Praa Sands, Marazion, Helston, Rinsey Cove all within a 5-20 minute drive, as well as places like The Lizard, Coverack, Hayle and St Ives all being around a 30 minute drive away. For those who enjoy a nice walk, it is possible to reach the coast path on foot, within approximately 30 minutes and from there, you have some stunning walks along the coast; if not, it is just a 5-minute drive to the nearest beach. Tanya, Customer Services

We had a great stay at Elowen. Great location , loved portlevan, Rinsley point and Praa sands all a shirt drive. Comfortable spacious house with a nice garden area. Would definitely stay again

What a gem of a holiday home, everything was clean and it was very well equipped (except matches/lighter for the BBQ which we bought and left in the apt for the next guests). It was spotlessly clean and everything felt brand new, lovely comfy beds and a great layout. It's surrounded by residential homes/gardens so is in a nice peaceful location, we were a family with 3 children and were slightly conscious of keeping the noise low so as not to disturb anyone. I would say if you like to make a bit of noise, this accommodation isn't for you (or the neighbours!)
Great location and lots of shops/restaurants and beaches all within in a 10-15 min drive. Only slight downside is there is no mobile signal at all at the property, we had to walk out on the main street to get a signal to receive a text/call on the mobile. There is great wifi in the property though.
We would definitely stay here again.

Thanks for taking the time to send in your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed this lovely property. It really is in a fantastically convenient location; great for accessing some of the beautiful beaches and villages nearby. Whilst it is in a nice quiet residential area, it is very much a family friendly location, so the usual noise levels that come with having a family in there should certainly not be an issue for neighbours, but of course it is always good to be very mindful of others. Unfortunately, mobile signal can be quite poor in many areas in Cornwall, but this will also vary with your provider. It is also worth bearing in mind that buildings of granite construction, which are common here in Cornwall, can cause an issue with signal also. With most properties providing Wi-Fi, it is instead possible to use Wi-Fi calling on many mobiles now, but if this is an important factor for you, it may be worth checking your individual provider's coverage map before booking so that you can be sure that you will have signal at your chosen property. Thanks again for your comments and we hope to see you back soon. Tanya, Customer Service
