Holidays in Marazion

Marazion is perhaps best known for the famous St Michael's Mount that is perfectly silhouetted on a sunny day, however the town itself is worth a browse with some lovely shops and tea rooms. We recommend visiting in early Spring when the famous Cornish daffs are in full flower!

St Michael’s Mount sits majestically on an island out at sea and can be reached via a cobbled causeway at low tide or at other times by the 'St Michael' amphibious vehicle! Visit the sub-tropical gardens that surround the castle or step inside the castle walls to explore the myths and legends that surround this iconic landmark. Read more about St Michael's Mount or view our St Michael's Mount webcam.

Top tip

Be sure check the tide times when planning your visit to St Michael's Mount!

Marazion beach

Conveniently located a moment away from the world famous St Michael's Mount, Marazion beach is found in the heart of Mount's Bay, recently elected as one of the 'most beautiful bays in the world'. It’s the perfect beach for family holidays in Marazion, with cafés just above the sand, lifeguards on hand and clean and safe waters. Despite its beauty and convenience for holiday makers, it remains surprisingly quiet compared to other Cornish beaches. It’s perfect for beach and sea sports and you can even take your horse for a quick gallop across the sands! The long sandy beach that stretches towards Long Rock is a popular windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing spot amongst locals and holiday makers alike. Mount's Bay provides ideal conditions for watersports, and kite surfing and stand up paddleboarding lessons are available with Ocean High for those looking to make the most of the outdoors. Find out more things to do at Marazion Beach >

Venture Eastwards and you'll find Marazion Beach East, or Steps Beach. This dog-friendly beach is favoured by locals as it is quiet due to its limited access and rocky shore, but it is perfect for dog walking, and collecting driftwood after a storm. Children will enjoy the many rock pools when the tide is out. Accessible via Leys Lane or from Marazion beach if you don't mind climbing over the rocks!

Walks around Marazion

Located on the South West Coast Path, there are stunning walks across Mounts Bay to Penzance, and to Prussia Cove in the opposite direction. Walking inland, you have 'St Michael's Way'. Thought to be used by pilgrims wanting to avoid the treacherous waters around Land's End, this popular walk runs coast to coast from St Ives to Marazion. This 12 mile walk finishes at Marazion Marsh which can get quite muddy so be sure to bring appropriate footwear! Beachwalk Retreat is very comfortable and has parking which is a great bonus. Have returned many times which speaks for itself.

Wonderful relaxing cottage. Great for family holiday. Lovey location and beautifully decorated. 3 year old granddaughter said can we keep it, she loved it so much. Can’t wait to go back

Our first stay at Beachwalk Retreat but our umpteenth time staying in Marazion. Location is great as is the parking available - you could get 3 medium sized cars on the drive at a push.

The house is well equipped and modern - loved the large fridge/freezer and nice big tele. The communal areas are well designed as is the outdoor space.

As ever The Godolphin, Kings Arms and Fire Engine provided tip top food - something for everyone. I’m sure we will be back next year.

Fantastic location and property comfortable and well equipped. Annexe gave additional space so we didn’t feel on top of each other (party of 10 ranging from toddlers, teens to grandparents) but we could eat and relax together. We were able to squeeze 4 cars into the drive (albeit had to box them in). Would definitely book again.

This accommodation was beautiful, clean and in a great location. I would definitely recommend.

Fabulous location and amenities at Beachwalk Retreat. Marazion was everything we hoped it would be. We had a wonderful break there and would highly recommend.

Stayed here last year, same fantastic weather! Great position close to beach, pubs, village shops

We had a lovely family holiday at the Beachwalk Retreat, the house is great, everything that you need, 5 minute walk to the beach and the welcome treat of Scones, clotted cream & jam were a bonus.

Lovely house as described. Perfect location. Huge bonus of off street parking. We were a party of 8 adults, two toddlers and two dogs and with the annex and garden it was just perfect

Beachwalk Retreat was a fantastic location close to the village and sea front in Marazion. Easy access to the coastal paths. Garden was amazing for the dog and very secure so no worries there. Parking was a little tight backing out but we did have 2 large 4x4's but parked both fine on the drive. There is everything in the holiday cottage that you need. The annex was great for space also. Cream tea on arrival is a lovely touch.

We would book again :)

Amazing house and location Will be returning next year Great beach and the kids and dogs had so much fun ????

Cottage is in an excellent position on the sea front at Marazion

Parking is a bit tight but we managed to get a large family car on the drive with a squeeze :)

Property is very clean and comfortable , would recommend

Beachwalk Retreat is perfect for a group or family holiday. It is perfectly clean with all the mod cons. It was great that lots of stuff were there, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid etc. Great for family dinners, watching a film together, and generally relaxing. We had two small dogs and they loved the house, there was even a dog crate which was very useful to save them from running out into the road.

The location is perfect, right in the town center so easy to walk to the beach or local pub/shops.

We booked the annex for a couple and it was great for them to have their own space.

Really enjoyed our stay, this the second time at Beachwalk retreat and we have booked again!

A beautiful house in a perfect location. Perfect size for a family of 8. And with the annex easily 10! Loved it was situated just two minutes from lovely eateries, local shop, pharmacy and of course the lovely Ruby’s ice cream shop - a must visit.

Every detail was thought of with all the equipment you could need. Loved the little welcome cream tea on arrival.

Definitely recommend Beachwalk Retreat.

Had a fantastic week at Beachwalk Retreat,

Fabulous location, well thought out living space, that accommodated our extended family spanning 4 generations comfortably. There is something for everyone within walking distance of the house.

More spacious than photos suggested, and we were able to park 3 cars on the driveway .. a mini + 2 mid sized SUV’s! But there are plenty of long stay parking spaces in the area if required.

Would definitely book again!

We stayed at Beachwalk Retreat on the first week in August and loved the house. There were 4 adults, 3 children and 1 dog in our group and we found we had plenty of room and enough bathrooms to live comfortably. There was everything we could need in the kitchen equipment wise and the Cornish cream and jam scones on arrival were a nice touch. There are bifold doors from the kitchen to the patio area with large table and lots of chairs and 4 proper deck chairs at the top of the garden that get the sun all day. The house is in a great spot just one small street behind the main road and car park for St Michaels Mount and only a minutes walk from the shops and pubs. The only down side of the area is we really struggled to find nice beaches where we could take our dog. You can take dogs on the main beach before 10am and after 6pm but can't spend the day. There is a beach in Marazion for dogs all day but it is difficult to access and full of strange flies in the sand. We normally go around the Newquay area where most of the beaches take dogs all year round. We had some nice food in the Marazion Hotel and Godolphin and the fish shop 50 steps away from the house does fabulous Fish and Chips! All in all we loved the house and Marazion.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you for taking the time to send in your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay here. There are restrictions on a lot of beaches around this time of year but if you don't mind a short drive, there is a beach at Longrock, with parking that is within 5 minutes' drive of Marazion, or 30 minutes' walk if you and your dog are feeling nice and energetic. The lovely Prussia Cove is a 12-minute drive, and Porthkidney Sands within a 20-minute drive, all of which have no restrictions at time of writing. We appreciate that many like to be able to get to a suitable beach without driving, so if you are ever looking to return, the website https://www.cornwall-beaches.co.uk/dog-friendly has a handy map as a guide which may help. Thanks again for your comments and hopefully we will see you back in Cornwall soon. Tanya, Customer Services

Beachwalk Retreat is a really comfortable, welcoming and well appointed property in close proximity to all local amenities and most importantly the beach! We had a fantastic week in Marazion and the surrounding area - sunrises, sunsets, swimming, paddle boarding, surfing & kayaking we’re all on the menu. We did slow down occasionally to eat some fantastic seafood and walk some of the SW Coast Path. We were two families and the house was perfect, the combination of rooms worked well, plenty of parking (big plus for us) and loads of outdoor space (including outdoor shower) meaning that we could all gather together or grab so quiet time for ourselves. Highly recommend Beachwalk Retreat with Aspects Holidays.

This was a lovely accommodation and finished to a high standard. It was within a stone's throw from the beach. Outside shower was a good idea, following beach trips and the welcome was much appreciated and a nice touch.

Resort is very unspoilt, perfect for a traditional bucket and spade holiday, with good bus routes to explore further afield.

There is also a children's play area next to the beach . The sea is safe and shallow for children.

St Michael's Mount is stunning. With regards to food, there are a handful of eating places including, pub, cafes, fish and chip shop. I would stay here again. Thank you.

Great property, great location. Enjoyed the cream tea on arrival. Great service from owner / agent when we had contact with them.

A good size for our family of 3 plus our dog. The dog liked the large lawn to run around! The king size bed is upstairs, its medium firm and comfortable. The downstairs double bedroom was a bit softer and just as good. There is a large wooden table outside the patio doors with bench and chairs, that isn't mentioned on the website. And has a small gate entrance at the side of the patio and not gated where you park. The garden is enclosed. On our stay we couldn't use the patio doors as they didn't open properly, so had to stay closed for our 2 week holiday. Because the window firm who were supposed to be fixing it didn't turn up in time. Sure itll be done by now though. It was nice and clean and plenty of towels. We had a nice break in Cornwall visiting Zenner where we seen some Cornish Choughs( birds:) and 10 minute walk from the property is RSPB Marazion Marsh too! that we visited twice. And a trip to The Beaver Project too. Lots of wildlife to see nearby.

Nice and cosy for a small party, not for a large one, except you are a family

Beachwalk retreat is clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for the beach and the village. We really didn't want to leave , and we have booked the property 3 more times!!!

As a family of four adults, we really enjoyed our week at Beachwalk Retreat in April 2022. The property was light, warm and welcoming and spotlessly clean. It is well equipped with lovely linens and extras like hairdryer and radio. We appreciated the delicious cream tea that was waiting for us when we arrived - thank you. The location is perfect; just two minutes from Marazion beach, with local shops, supermarkets and attractions all within easy striking distance. It was great to find that the garden is fully enclosed and we could park right outside, although the entrance is a little narrow! We didn't use the garden room but it looked lovely and has views to St Michael's Mount. All in all, I would heartily recommend the property and would happily return on another occasion.
