Holidays in Crackington Haven

Crackington Haven is a quiet coastal village, not far from Bude, located in a National Landscape (formerly Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). The small rocky cove offers more peace and seclusion than other neighbouring beaches. With breathtaking scenery and spectacular views, it's the perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

This small and scenic rocky cove reveals a large expanse of golden sand as the tide retreats. Sheltered by high cliffs and dotted with rock pools, this beach is popular with surfers and families alike. With a large car park nearby, toilets and a shop, you can easily spend the whole day enjoying the pebbly cove. Lifeguards patrol the beach throughout the peak summer months and dogs are welcome on this beach except between 15th May and 30 September, 10am to 6pm when a seasonal dog ban is in place. The beach is looked after by locals, who work hard to ensure it remains as beautiful as it is.

Top tip

Walk the coast path to Boscastle for some truly breath-taking views!

Things to do in Crackington Haven

Crackington Haven is perfectly located for coastal walking!

You can take the coastal path from Crackington Haven to Cambeak Headland and beyond; you'll discover panoramic views and spectacular scenery. Why not stroll back via the sheltered woodlands of Ludon Valley? Alternatively, you can take the circular walk to the medieval Church of St Genny's, via Pekenna Point, where you'll be able to see the many landing points used in the past by Cornish smugglers and wreckers.

Of course, you may also wish to try surfing - the sheltered cover filters the size of the swell and gives shelter from Northerly winds.
