Join us for a fun-filled morning at Cornwall Football Golf in St Austell, on Cornwall's south coast.
Football golf is the ultimate family day out, fun to play, no skills needed, and perfect for all ages. Simply take turns kicking a football around a big open course, aiming for giant holes in the ground – just like golf, except with a bigger ball and you’re the club!!!

On arrival, we were greeted by the friendly team, who explained everything we needed to know about Football Golf! Footballs were handed out, and we were ready to go! Before setting off for the first hole, we scanned the QR code to get the digital scorecard, a handy way to keep track of the scores, no paper or pencil needed.
Cornwall Football Golf has two 18 hole courses – the hillside and the parkside, both surrounded by beautiful far-reaching views across the Cornish countryside and over St Austell Bay. You’ll even get glimpses of the sea on your way around.

The Parkland course is flatter with shorter fairways, and is great for all skill levels, while the Hillside course has longer fairways, slopes, and a few extra challenges—perfect if you’re up for a bit more adventure! We headed for the Hillside Course, ready to take it on!

Playing football golf is a mix of skill, luck, friendly competition, and a lot of fun! Kicking along the fairways with some perfect shots and some not-so-perfect, the team dodged bunkers, landed in the rough, and occasionally nailed the perfect tap-in.
Every one of the 18 holes brought something new, whether avoiding water, aiming through trees, getting it around a bend, through Stonehenge (!), and even putting one in the back of a round net!! Before getting to the final hole, an epic free-kick challenge, a fantastic way to finish the game!

Final scores in, we headed to the winners' podium where Doug took first place, clinching the victory by a few points! Sadly, neither Doug nor Ben could beat the course record, an impressive 52 shots, that’s less than 3 kicks per hole…

Our last stop was at The 19th hole for a well deserved drink, soaking up the views whilst partaking in some post-match analysis. Serving hot and cold drinks, ice creams, and tasty snacks, it's the perfect spot for refueling after a busy round.

Doug Howard, Marketing Manager said "Cornwall Football Golf is a fun day out, great for some friendly competition, I'd highly recommend anyone giving it a go" whilst Ben Tredinnick, Customer Service Supervisor says "We had a blast at Cornwall Football Golf, it was a close game, I can't wait for the rematch."
Cornwall Football Golf opens at different times throughout the year, in true Cornish style, it depends on the sunset, so we recommend checking before you go. There's no need to book, just turn up and play. The last kick off is around 2 hours before closing. You can find everything you need to know on the Cornwall Football Golf website.
After a morning on the green, why not head to nearby Charlestown or Mevagissey for a stroll around the pretty harboursides, and a bite to eat with a view!
