As autumn sets in and the leaves fall crisply to the ground, you know that October, and Halloween along with it, is just around the corner. If you’re planning a half-term break to Cornwall with the kids, then you’re sure to find plenty to fill the week with…

Halloweden: Saturday 20th October - Sunday 4th November

Head to the iconic Eden Project for some guaranteed Halloween fun for all the family. From meeting magical creatures, to creating mysterious potions and admiring the huge pumpkins on display, there’s something for everyone. Join in with the magical Little Monster Ball on Saturday 27th October (from 6pm-7.30pm), children can don their fancy dress and enjoy music, storytelling, face paints and more! In addition, the ice rink will be open from Saturday 13th October, so why not book tickets for ice skating to make the most of your trip to Eden.

Halloween Hocus Pocus at The Milky Way Adventure Park: Saturday 20th - Sunday 28th October

This Halloween at The Milky Way Adventure Park, there’ll be a spooktacular selection of fun activities for children to join in with. Visitors are encouraged to dress up in their best Halloween fancy dress (for the fancy dress competition) ready to join in with wand making, spell writing and casting, broomstick riding, potion making and spooky swamp dodgems fun!

Pirate’s Quest, Trick or Treasure: Saturday 20th - Sunday 28th October

If your little ones are keen for an adventure, take them to meet some real-life pirates at Pirate’s Quest in Newquay. Follow your pirate guide through the twisting and turning paths as you’re rescued from a sinking ship. Make sure you look out for the creepy clues on your treasure hunt, so you can claim your treats! Why not dress up like a pirate to make the most of the day?

Godolphin House, Halloween Happenings: Saturday 20th - Sunday 28th October

 

Enjoy a Halloween trail, spooky stories and, on selected days, try your hand at apple pressing (only on 23rd and 24th October) at the stately Goldophin house! Professional story teller, Mark Haradon, will be at the grounds of Godolphin sharing stories for both children and adults alike.

Trerice, Halloween Activities: Monday 22nd and Wednesday 24th October

The Victorian house, Trecice, near Newquay will be running Halloween mask making sessions on Monday 22nd and Wednesday 24th October, for just £1 per mask. After exploring the house and grounds, allow the kids to get creative and let their imagination run wild as they create their own mask for Halloween. The highlight of half term at Trerice has to be the annual Spooky Trerice evening, on Saturday 27th October from 6pm - 8.30pm. Enjoy a family-friendly evening at the manor as witches and fairy tales descend upon Trerice.

Trelissck, Pumpkin Carving: Saturday 20th - Sunday 28th October

Visit Trelissick this October half term and you’ll be able to pick a pumpkin and carve away. Pumpkin carving will be available from 11.30am – 5.30pm every day throughout the week, at the stables.

Trengwainton Garden, Spooky Storytelling: Thursday 25th October

Head to the fabulous gardens of Trengwainton on Thursday 25th October to enjoy spooky stories told by professional storyteller, Mark Harandon. Story telling takes place on the hour from 11am – 4pm (except 1pm) in the bell tent in the orchard.

Cotehele, Halloween Activities: Saturday 20th - Sunday 28th October

Cotehele in North Cornwall is hosting a range of spooky activities throughout the week. On Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st, the Tudor house will be hosting their first autumn market, selling everything from local food, to hand made jewellery. Throughout the half term, it’ll be 'Haunting Halloween Week' at Cotehele Mill, where visitors can enjoy a trail with treats, and observe the mill in action (on the Thursday and Sunday) with some baking too! From Monday 22nd – Friday 26th October, the Quay will be filled with fun Halloween activities, including pumpkin carving for £3, monster making for £1 and mask making for £1. To complete the week, Cotehele will host their annual fright night on Friday 27th October from 5.30pm – 7.30pm. This will be a chance to explore the house in the dark, by torchlight!
