Tinner's Cottage
St Just

£423 - £984 per week
Book

Spend warm, summer mornings amidst the cool shade of the tender palms in the garden at Tinner’s Cottage, with a pot of breakfast tea and a good book in hand. Sleeping four, in the heart of St Just, Tinner’s Cottage is bursting with charm and character. Rustle up fluffy scrambled eggs over a bed of melting butter on toast and plan the day ahead. Tie up those trusted walking boots and head to the coastal path nearby, to see Cornwall’s rugged coastline at its finest, with breathtaking views along the way. Welcoming two dogs, the furry members of the family will have a holiday to remember too. The well-equipped kitchen calls for evenings of cooking up a storm for supper, before playing a board game or two. When the little ones retire to their beds for a peaceful slumber, share a refreshing bottle of crisp white wine in the garden, as the fairy lights twinkle underneath the dark night’s sky.

Tinner’s Cottage is perfectly located just steps from Market Square where you will find several rustic pubs, café’s shops and galleries. With so much tin mining history, St Just retains an unspoilt charm of times gone by. Spend long hot summer days sunbathing on Protheras Beach or surfing at Sennen Cove. As the chilly nights draw in, snuggle up together in the sitting room, discussing good times in front of the woodburner, with a warming glass of red, or escape to the snug with that good book and listen to the gentle crackle of the second woodburner. With so much close at hand, Tinner's Cottage is a perfect choice for a family or group of friends looking to spend quality time together.

Wow what a beautiful Cottage.. Stayed here for my birthday weekend with some friends. The cottage had everything we needed and more.. We didn’t want to leave. Will definitely be back for another Girls weekend

October 2024

Tinner's Cottage is a very well presented property, conveniently located in the centre of St Just, less than a minutes walk from the shops and pubs. The cottage is decorated and furnished to a very high standard throughout, and I had a very comfortable weeks stay. The main bedroom is at the back, so there are no issues with traffic noise from Fore Street (the twin bedroom, which I did not use, IS at the front though). However, the back bedroom has just one very small window, which was a slight disappointment. Both the sitting rooms are very comfortable, and the kitchen/diner was a good size, with plenty of worktop space, and a six-seater dining table looking out through French windows to the lovely rear garden. Overall, this is a really good cottage, and I would certainly stay here again.

Holidays in St Just

Situated in a National Landscape (formerly Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), St Just sits just one mile from the Atlantic coastline and the stunning scenery of Cape Cornwall. For anyone looking to relax at a slower place, St Just is the ideal place to recharge your batteries.

Experience village life in this traditional Cornish village, with a strong history of mining, farming and fishing. From its 15th Century Church, to the ‘Plen-An-Gwary’, one of Britain’s oldest working ampitheatres, and the evidence of mining throughout, the village has a clear sense of culture and identity, shaped by its past. You can’t get much more Cornish than St Just!

With so much to see and do in the area, you’ll easily fill your days, from walking the South West Coast Path, to visiting the iconic Land’s End, and exploring the many nearby coves and beaches.

Did you know...

St Just is the most westerly town in mainland Britain?

Things to do

Located in the far west of Cornwall, you’ll have so much to explore, with places to visit and walks aplenty!

Land’s End

As the most westerly town in mainland Britain, St Just is close to the popular attraction of Land's End. Have your photo taken at the famous Land's End signpost, experience one of the family attractions, or simply enjoy the breathtaking views and the rugged landscape.

Tanglewood Wild Gardens

Located just a few miles down the road from St Just, you’ll discover the magical world of Tanglewood Wild Gardens. Explore nine acres of wild gardens and woodland, home to an abundance of wildlife, quirky sculptures and interactive games. Pack a picnic and enjoy it with the family, amidst the sounds and sights of nature.

Cape Cornwall Golf Club

For keen golfers, or those who’d like to give it a go, Cape Cornwall Golf Club offers one of the most beautiful places to play golf, with spectacular views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Geevor Tin Mine

Not far from St Just, you’ll find Geevor Tin Mine, the largest preserved mining site in the country, and the last example of a complete 20th century tin mine. Here you can learn all about the history of mining in Cornwall and even take a tour underground!

St Michael's Mount

When visiting west Cornwall, a trip to the iconic St Michael’s Mount is a must. Steeped in history, and with nowhere else quite like it, this tidal island with its fairy-tale castle is truly the jewel in Cornwall's crown. Be sure to plan ahead and check the tide times, if the tide is in you’ll have to hop on one of the regular ferry boats, otherwise you’ll be wading back!

Walks in and around St Just

With such spectacular scenery on your doorstop, St Just is perfect for experiencing the great outdoors. Be sure to bring your walking boots so you can explore some of the many walks in the area…

The South West Coast Path

One of the best things about west Cornwall has to be its wild and rugged coastline, and walking the South West Coast Path is one of the best ways to explore it. Join the coast path at Cape Cornwall and you can walk to Sennen, Land’s End, Porthcurno or even onto Lamorna or Mousehole. Alternatively, head in the other direction towards Pendeen Lighthouse and towards Zennor.

St Just to Cape Cornwall

This walk takes you across fields, past prehistoric sites and into the Cot Valley where you can extend the walk down to Port Navern, a keen spot for bird-watchers, before returning to the village of St Just.

Carn Galver to Men-An-Tol

If you’re interested in seeing some of Cornwall’s legendary prehistoric sites, then this walk begins in a location just a short drive from St Just. Beginning at Carn Galver, the route follows moorland paths leading to the Four Parish Stone, the Merry Maidens stone circle, Ding Dong, and onto Men-An-Tol. As well as the multiple stone sites, you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views.

Tinner’s Cottage in St Just was so lovely, just perfect for a 2 week break. The cottage was beautifully presented and everything needed was present. Aspects holidays’ service was faultless, and I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone!

The cottage was beautiful and the welcome pack was so lovely. St Just was surprisingly beautiful, we were able to shop locally which was nice as it gave us opportunity to add to the local community. The buses’ were amazing so we could park up and enjoy lots of the surrounding area hassle free. The car parking was a real bonus and no trouble being around the corner.
