This property is perfect for families both in the winter and summer months. It has a large living area and large kitchen. It has fantastic facilities and every single thing has been carefully thought about. It has its own private parking space which is priceless in St Just. The garden is fabulous and we would have used it had it not been October. Logs were left for us to use. The cottage was warm and cosy and the modern fire is very, very efficient. The cottage is also very warm all the time which is great for Winter and no doubt would be cool in the summer. In St Just the recycling system is a bit odd and there were no facilities in October, but the cottage owners sort it out for you which is also priceless. We loved the cottage so much we booked it on our second day for next year!
Mr Foster October 2020
We enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable cottage and looking at the visitors comments we could see why guests return time and again. St Just has so much to offer those who enjoy the lovely Cornish landscape.

St Just is perfectly situated to explore the breathtaking Cornish coastline. St Just is a traditional Cornish village with a rich history of mining, fishing, and farming, located in the very West of England. Despite it's small size, St Just has a vibrant, thriving arts community. In the centre of the town you will find the 'Plen-An-Gwary', meaning 'playing place', which is one of only two open air ampitheatres in Cornwall and arguably the oldest working theatre in all of Britain.
Visit St Just in July and you'll be able to take in the atmosphere at the popular Lafrowda festival; a fortnight of family friendly activities including dance workshops and colourful processions which make their way through the crowds.
For a more ancient celebration, Feast Day is a two-day event in November, which celebrates the dedication of the parish church.
As the most westerly town on mainland Britain, St Just is close to the popular attraction of Land's End. Have your photo taken at the famous Land's End signpost, or simply enjoy the breathtaking views and the rugged landscape. Land's End provides the perfect family day-out.
Tanglewood gardens, just a few miles from St Just, is the perfect place to spend the day, where you'll find quirky sculptures alongside an abundance of wildlife, providing a great place to explore. Read more on our blog: A day out at Tanglewood gardens.
Nearby you will find the stunning St Michael's Mount; a tidal island with a fairy-tale castle, which truly is the jewel in Cornwall's crown. The gorgeous beach in the adjacent Mount's Bay is a popular destination for watersports, or simply enjoying the Cornish sunshine.
Explore! With such spectacular scenery on your doorstop, St Just is perfect for experiencing the great outdoors. Walking along The South West Coast Path offers an ideal way to enjoy the rugged coastline this area is famous for.
Cape Cornwall golfclub is nearby too, which offers stunning views along with a different challenge everyday of the year, depending on the weather.

The tradition of Tom Bawcock comes from the feast or famine lifestyle of Cornwall. The story goes that it was just before Christmas; there had been no fish for weeks, the boats couldn’t get out into the raging storm, the village was starving. One man, Tom Bawcock, dared to take his boat out of the harbour’s safety. He returned with enough fish to make fish pie for the whole village.
Today, a festival takes place each year to celebrate Tom Bawcock's bravery. During the festival, Star Gazey pies are eaten in memory of this famous event.

Chy Lowen was perfect for our family. Great position, good sized rooms, all well equipped. The kids loved having a tv in their room too! We will definitely be back!
Mrs Munsie Jul 2020
We found Chy Lowen to be a comfortable and delightful cottage in the heart of St Just. Well equipped, clean and spacious.
Mr Hughes Jul 2020
An excellent holiday cottage that provides a fantastic base close to some of the most spectacular scenery in Cornwall. Highly recommended.
Mr Lancaster Jan 2020
This was my second visit this year. I have no car so Chy Lowen is in a ideal position, close to the shops / pubs etc - St Just has everything you need. The bus stop is close by to get you to Penzance, Sennen Cove, Lands End, Pendeen and Zennor. Had some lovely walks and pretty decent weather - just one day of sea mist! Will be looking to book Chy Lowen again, as the cottage is very comfortable, well equipped and St Just is an ideal base to explore West Cornwall :-)
Mr Aldred Sep 2019
St Just is a great place for walking and local fabulous beaches. Ignore the weather forecasts - it can be warm and sunny when everyone else is getting rain.
You may as well walk everywhere as the town was clearly not meant for cars, nowhere to easily park. Visit the wells and standing stones as well as the beaches.
The house is centrally located, beautifully presented and has everything included that you could possibly need. Would visit again and wished I had brought a dog !
Ms Baron Aug 2019
‘This is lovely property in a fabulous location. The property is of a high standard and spotlessly clean. We had a wonderful week and would definitely come back again.
Mrs Beevor Jul 2019
Highly recommended for location and facilities. Best self catering property we have ever experienced.
Mr Edwards May 2019
Very comfortable accommodation in an excellent location just a couple of minutes walk from the centre. Despite the access to the rear car parking space looking very tight, we had no trouble manoeuvring into it and it was a real bonus to have on-site parking in St Just.
Ms Cowen May 2019
Had a great stay at Chy Lowen, cottage is well equipped and had a lovely feel about it. Location was perfect for local shops and pubs in St Just. Bus service very handy as I had no car. Loads of footpaths to explore in an around St Just and of course the coast path and I was very lucky with the glorious weather over Easter weekend. Would definitely return to Chy Lowen.
Mr Aldred May 2019
Great location, cleanliness, welcome pack - it's a great property in an area we love.
Mr Lancaster Jan 2019
We have just spent a wonderful Christmas week at Chy Lowen. Could not be beaten!

Mrs Russon Oct 2018
Beautiful spacious cottage in beautiful unspoilt traditional cornish village. Great walks and beaches near by. The choice of food establishments were great too with delicious offerings.
Mrs Mahony Sep 2018
Superb property - very much a home from home. Would stay here again and recommend to friends.
Mrs Dewhirst Aug 2018
Can't speak highly enough about this cottage. We have just got back from a fantastic week there with our little Yorkshire terrier. The cottage has everything you need. Is very clean and cosy. Decorating is with a seaside theme. Parking at the rear of the cottage is useful. It's location is so handy for visiting many places. Cape Cornwall is fantastic watching the lovely sunsets. We are hoping to book this same cottage next year.
Mrs. Higginson Jun 2018
We would recommend this property to anybody. We wanted for nothing.
