This is a very well furnished and equipped flat with easy access via just a few stairs which are wide and not at all. Downstairs, the bedroom is lovely and cosy with lots of cupboard space and a built in wardrobe the big bathroom has a very powerful, invigorating shower. There are carpeted stairs inside to the upstairs living room and kitchen/dining area. This has a wonderful view of the harbour. You can just draw up a chair and watch. It’s in a superb location, right on Fore Street and we were easily able to park up right outside to unload and load after shop hours, allowing any traffic to pass. It was a home from home for us and we’d very much like to return as soon as we can. Cliff and Jules

October 2024

Stayed for short break here and was very happy with the apartment. It is right on top of the beach and shops and pubs. We found that the sound from the pubs wasn't a problem later in the evening as the glazing muffled the noise pretty well even during the Karaoke night on Thursdays in the pub across the street.

Holidays at The Wharf

Many of our cottages at The Wharf overlook the working harbour of St Ives. Here you'll find fishing boats, a gorgeous sandy beach and in the summer season you can take advantage of the boat trips on offer. Home to The RNLI, The St Ives Lifeboat Station is close by and is a popular attraction with tourists.

The Wharf, otherwise known as St Ives harbour, is a hive of activity throughout the year. With a continual hustle and bustle on the water and along the harbour front, there is always plenty to do and see while self catering at the Wharf, even at the quieter times of the year.  It’s an ever changing scene so perfect for those artists among you. Don’t forget about the very sheltered, sandy Harbour Beach, a perfect sun-trap in the heart of town and a great place to find seaglass and sea pottery! As night falls at the end of another perfect day, St Ives comes alive with a selection of bars, restaurants and cafés to suit every pocket and every taste in a truly cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Top tip

Be careful of the seagulls when eating at The Wharf.

Things to do on The Wharf

Boat Trips

Why not enjoy the scenery by boat and explore the coastline with an excursion with St Ives Boat Trips. Fishing trips are available for those looking for a bit of adventure, or for a more relaxing experience, a visit to seal island lets you see seals basking on the rocks at certain times of year.

Eating and Drinking

The Wharf is home to a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, serving up fresh fish and chips to gourmet burgers, with something to suit everyone. Enjoy an ice cream or Cornish pasty and watch the world go by on the harbour front, but remember to keep your wits about you; seagulls in St Ives are renowned for swooping in and stealing food right from your hands!

Smeaton's Pier

From here you'll get a stunning view of the harbour, and an up close view of the crystal clear waters. At the entrance to the pier you'll find St Leonard's Chapel; originally dedicated for local fisherman, it is now a museum and memorial for the fisherman of St Ives.

Lifeboat station

Home to the new £1.5 million lifeboat, the RNLI lifeboat station is a popular attraction for visitors to St Ives. The gift shop next door sells souvenirs where all profits go towards helping to save lives at sea.

Right in the heart of St Ives, with all the great shops and restaurants right on the doorstep. The apartment is really well presented, with quality fixtures, a comfortable bed and a good sized wardrobe. The description online doesn't do it justice!

Be aware that there are two pubs right opposite, which you may hear some noise from, but not enough to be a problem for us.

Would definitely book Polmeor again and have recommended it to others.

Lovely appartment in a fantastic location. Really appreciated the air con unit in the bedroom that was a game changer staying in August and keeping the room cool during the night. Apartment is spacious and comfortable would definitely recommend. Didn't find it remotely noisey even staying mid peak season. Will return!

Nice accommodation in a great central St Ives location.

Polmeor is a beautiful place to stay if you have problems with the hills in the town, as it is completely on the flat. However, there are quite steep steps going up to the flats from the front lobby. The views over the harbour are exceptional. Some reviews mention noise problems, but in November there were none at all - it was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Lovely comfortable bed and quality bedding and towels were appreciated. Would highly recommend for a single person or couple.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a lovely review and we are so pleased to hear you would recommend the property. Staying in St Ives during the quieter months definitely has its perks! Thank you for the comments on the stairs, it is certainly worth bearing in mind for some, and we hope that the steps did not cause too much or a problem for you. Lucy, Customer Services

Cost apartment, with a lovely view of the harbour from the top windows. Very clean and comfortable. Although some reviews were negative about the noise, we found it ok, but we were out of season for our stay, and don’t go to bed early.

Thank you for your review, we are so pleased you had a comfortable stay at Polmeor. It's great that you did not find the central location to be noisy, there's something to be said for staying in St Ives in the quieter months! We hope we can welcome you back for another relaxing break soon. Katy, Customer Services.

Location great ,facilities great ,couldn’t want for more

Fantastic stay @ Polmeor.

Accommodation: Well equipped, modern apartment overlooking the sea with everything you’d need for a 2 week stay.

Location: Located in Fore Street with access directly from the heart of Fore Street. Amazingly situated, step out into the midst of everything, step inside to the peace & quiet, literally 2 footsteps away, great combination. Great base for exploring other areas either by bike, train or bus. We left our car parked for most of the 2 weeks.

Parking: No parking allocated with this apartment in the heart of St Ives, however, the Island car park is close by (6 mins walk) as is the Station car park (6 mins walk). We paid £57 to park for a week at the Island & £27 for a week at The Station (spaces not guaranteed), great value.

Shopping: We ordered online shopping from Sainsburys, order confirmed but it did not arrive. Reason: ‘Unable to locate the address in St Ives’ even though regular drivers deliver. Be cautious as in my opinion this was no excuse, even though I had put a description in the comments box and the full address and what shop the apartment was next to!! I think Sainsbury’s just didn’t want to deliver there.

There is a Co-op which stocks a limited amount of things, Butchers, various take aways & of course St Ives is plentiful of restaurants, cafes & chip shops.

Bathroom: Large, spacious, bright overlooking the harbour, amazing views. Single shower. Shaver/electric toothbrush point. Decor in keeping with the seaside but tastefully done.

Bedroom: Great hanging spaces in the bedroom cupboard, long mirrors which are useful. Double bed with lamps each side & chest of drawers - plenty of clothes space for a couple.

Hallway: More storage space for clothes. Tastefully decorated.

Kitchen/diner/lounge: Stunning views from both windows. Plenty of accessories in kitchen for a 2 week stay. Comfortable chairs to relax in whilst looking at the views.

Cleanliness: Brilliant.

Service/queries: Asked for a change of linen & towels part way through, delivered same day, very good service.

Finally: Have stayed about 4-5 times in this apartment & one next door, if I keep coming back - that says it all.

The property is in a good central location with fantastic views from the living area and is airy and spacious. The pub opposite is loud, particularly on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It hadn’t been cleaned very well when we stayed, but hopefully that was a one off.

We are glad to hear you enjoyed the central location of the property. Being so close to the many pubs, restaurants and cafes of St Ives does mean that noise can be heard on occasion, especially in peak months, but this shouldn't be expected every night. We try to make this as clear as possible on the property description, and we hope it was what you were expecting. We are very sorry if the standard of cleanliness was not to the high level that you would have expected, we can only apologise if any areas had been missed. Having now received this feedback, we will be closely monitoring this, so thank you for your comments. Katy, Customer Services.

Really enjoyed the breathtaking beauty of the sea, the harbour and the town with a large selection of bars and restaurants nearby. The apartment is very conveniently placed to access all areas. The circular coastal open top bus route was excellent, meaning we could get to see the beautiful Porthcurno beach and visit the Minack Theatre, as well as numerous other sites. The bus accepts senior bus passes too.

Fantastic location. Superb property ?? the only issue we had was the bed was uncomfortable and in need of a new mattress.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you for your comments; we are glad that you enjoyed it, though sorry to hear that you found the bed uncomfortable; it can be very difficult to find a mattress that will suit everyone and it is disappointing to hear that it was not to your preference. For now, we will monitor comments to keep an eye on guests preferences over the coming months. Thanks again. Tanya, Customer Services

Great location! Good views! A few stairs if you had mobility issues and some possible noise issues if you had the rear windows open. Overall a good value, immaculate, compact apartment.

Lovely light and airy apartment, modern furnishings and well equipped. Air Conditioning in bedroom an asset in hot weather. Very comfortable with Harbour Views. Situated in the middle of town so very central. Friday and Saturday evening were spoilt by very loud music playing from the pubs till 1.00pm opposite the apartment, and then having to listen to customers shouting outside after leaving.

We are glad to hear that you liked the apartment but sorry if the location opposite the pubs and associated noise was not something that you were expecting. We try to make this as clear as possible on the website, with several reviews also mentioning this, so that it can help guests to decide if it will be suitable for them. We are glad to hear that it sounded like you were able to enjoy it fully, during the week though. Tanya, Customer Services

Extremely well appointed, clean and tidy, really enjoyable stay, didn’t want to leave.

Polmeor was a great stay, well set up and didn’t have any trouble with noise from the street. It’s in a central location with good access to st Ives. There’s no parking with the apartment so you will have to park in a nearby car park which is 8.80 a day but as long as your happy with that the apartment is fine.

Polmeor is in a beautiful position with bedroom right in front 2 pubs which on a Friday and Saturday played music until about midnight, it never really bothered us but just be aware when booking but it really is a brilliant location and nice apartment which makes up for it

We are glad that you liked it here despite a busy weekend by the sound of it. Its central location can mean that you will sometimes hear noise associated with having everything right there on your doorstep, but it is certainly not every night, or even throughout the year, and we hope that you agree, the convenience of such a fantastic location makes this a worthwhile compromise. Tanya, Customer Services

This is a lovely holiday accommodation for a single or couple who like to be in the thick of things - unfortunately, if you like an early night it is not ideal due to the music from the pubs opposite, but if you like to go to the pub then the location is perfect. All round another great aspects holiday - looking forward to my next one in April. I holiday with Aspects regularly and always find their properties to be immaculate and well supplied

It was great to welcome you back here again and we are glad that you enjoyed another lovely stay in St Ives. Being in such a fantastic central location, you may hear some of the hustle and bustle of the town at times. The owners have triple glazing to minimise this, so it should be a little quieter compared to other properties in a similar location, but it won't block it out completely. We hope that you agree that it is worth it for being just steps away from all the lovely cafes, restaurants, galleries, pubs, and beaches that St Ives has to offer. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Tanya, Customer Services

Very clean and fresh apartment with lovely views

Very noisy from pub across the road they did a lot of karaoke

Lounge furniture adequate but flimy

Bedroom furniture excellent

Couldn’t recommend Aspects Holidays highly enough , not just words , I’ve been using Aspects Holidays for years and fully intend to continue to do so , Accommodation has always been very high standard and service has always been excellent, thank you for many years of great holidays from me and my family plus many of my friends of whom have booked through my recommendation of your service

Polmeor is a centrally located apartment with spectacular views of the harbour. It is 1 minutes walk to the harbourage shops and 5 minutes to the beaches. However, it is directly opposite a very noisy pub with events until 1 am. Despite the good glazing you are still disturbed at night by music, fighting couples and some drunken shouting. This is such a shame as otherwise the apartment would be perfect.

Thank you for your comments and so glad to hear that you liked it here. Being in such a fantastic central location, you may hear some of the hustle and bustle of the town at times, but we hope that you agree that it is worth it for being right in the heart of this fantastic town, just steps from all that St Ives has to offer. The owners have installed triple glazing, to keep this to a minimum, but it will not stop it completely, especially if you have the windows open. We have since amended our website description just to help make the location and what you may expect from that, a little clearer. Hopefully see you again soon! Tanya, Customer Services.
