The Swallows Barn
North Cornwall

£386 - £926 per week
Book

The conversion of this farmyard barn has been sympathetically undertaken retaining original features, including beamed ceilings and Delabole slate floor slabs, which feature in the entrance hallway. Traditional joinery, using natural oak and timber reclaimed from the original farmhouse, gives an earthy vibe to this delightful farmstead. All rooms are very spacious yet cosy and homely too. There's a family friendly kitchen and dining area which flows into the sitting room, it's a real country retreat. The Swallows Barn sits within the farm run by a local family, and from the kitchen window you can see cattle and sheep grazing the pastures, and beyond the farm yard there are wonderful sea views across Widemouth Bay, and on a clear day, you can even see Lundy Island.

If it is a laid back countryside holiday you are searching for, life on the farm at Higher Trewint will suit you perfectly. The farm is just under two miles from the Atlantic Highway, for easy access to explore the surrounding areas. Bude is only an 8 mile drive, where you will find an array of unique shops, supermarkets, eateries and large sandy beaches with many recreational facilities. In fact you don't have to go that far, there are public footpaths which can be joined from very nearby The Swallows Barn, so on a beautiful day, you can pack up a rucksack and walk towards the coast to join into the South West Coastal path. You will discover some amazing little coves and Millook and Wanson beaches nestle exclusively beside Widemouth Bay. If you want to discover the magic of the coastline, be it the larger beaches or pretty and picturesque bays, this holiday destination will fulfil every dream.

Beautiful barn with everything that you needed , very clean in a lovely location

Perfect holiday home well equipped with everything you need and more.

Swallows Barn is a delight. It is comfortable, spacious, ingeniously converted and has all the equipment and facilities one could want. We particularly enjoyed the views and the fact that we were in the middle of a working farm.

Swallows barn is a beautiful barn conversion in a lovely area and as 5 adults and a dog we found it to be very comfortable, it was well equipped and everything we needed was provided, lovely to come back to after a day at the beach. It felt really rural but close to the amenities in Bude, highly recommended.

Fantastic holiday home which was well equipped and enabled our family of 6 to spend time together in the open plan kitchen/living area but also have space from each other as needed. The sea view was an added bonus!

This barn is so much more than a little holiday home, its home from home. The attention to detail is absolutely spot on. You'll need for nothing. The people are friendly and helpful. Happy to share local knowledge on places to visit and investigate as well as amazing food and drink vendors. I really didn't want to leave!

Great place to stay. Very peaceful . Fabulous views of the coast. Ideal location for exploring lots of places.

The Swallows Barn is so relaxing and we enjoyed a perfect holiday at this property. The location is really excellent and you are surrounded by countryside and the owners of this property are very friendly and make you feel very welcome from the word go. Beaches are close by and Bude is fairly near if you need any shops or supermarkets. This property really is amazing and we hope to return one day.

Had a great stay, the location was lovely and the house was bigger than we expected!! Owners were helpful, and beds were super comfy!

Fantastic holiday in this beautiful home would highly recommend fantastic value for money

Lovely and peaceful everything about swallows barn was excellent would certainly recommend swallows barn to anyone who wants a peaceful relaxing holiday

Wow wow and wow. This place is most certainly the wow factor

You never know when arriving at the holiday let whether it’s going to live up to expectations and the photos but The Swallow Barn completely surpassed it. It is like a home away from home and no expense spared on the furnishings and fittings, it’s so spacious but also cosy. The pint of milk in the fridge and tea, coffee and Cornish biscuits on arrival was such a lovely touch! The sunsets over the farm behind were just something to be seen in the evening.

I was a little worried about any noise from a working farm but we didn’t hear a thing and it was so peaceful. 4 adults and 1 child and 1 dog lived more than comfortably for the 3 nights and we did not want to leave! The location is also perfect for access into Bude and we spent many hours at Widemouth Bay which is under 10 mins away.

We will definitely be coming back and would recommend to everyone we know! 5 star!

We enjoyed a lovely few days exploring and walking the beautiful coast around Bude. The Swallows Barn was a perfect base for this and a comfortable, homely space to relax in.

Very comfortable accomodation which was fitted out to a high standard. Perfectly located for visiting North Cornwall's beaches. Welcoming and helpful owners. Decorated beautifully for our Christmas stay. Lovely welcome pack of food and wine. Perfect hideaway to do as much or as little as you want. We normally spend Christmas away but this was probably the best break that we've had to date. Highly recommended.

Visited Bude, Padstow, Boscastle, Tintagel, Fowey, Par, Rock and Polzeath, all easily accessable .Fabulous beaches, grandchildren loved body boarding. Had a lovely meal at the Horseshoe pub in Tresparret, Camelford on Tues which just happened to be steak night ( £10 with all the trimmings ) which we all had ( 6 of us ) photos on the wall of an episode of Doc Martin filmed at the pub. Lovely bakery in Boscastle selling pasties and cakes. We bought a huge fresh crab from Padstow harbour which was delicious.Lovely fish and chips from Padstow.

We have just enjoyed a short holiday in Cornwall staying at The Swallows Barn which we booked through 'Aspects Holidays'. The customer service we experienced with 'Aspects Holidays' was excellent. They gave us all the information required and sent us a useful information booklet with directions, entry codes etc. The Swallows Barn surpassed our expectations. It was absolutely beautiful, clean spacious and had everything we needed especially the peace and tranquillity and views.
