Ruby, at Valley View Cottages, is one of a pair of farm barn conversions located in a fantastic rural location. The barns have been beautifully converted to a high standard, retaining many features, including natural stone, exposed beams along with the original hand forged ironwork, still in place. Ruby is perfect for walkers, being surrounded by many pretty walks, established trees and rolling countryside. All the rooms are well sized, and there are patio doors from the living space out onto the raised patio, which has fantastic views towards Duckpool. The evening sunsets are to die for, and in the morning, natures dawn will bring you birdsong and the gorgeous smell of wildflowers and fauna in the dewy first light, relax and enjoy this beautiful space, set in a peaceful and natural valley.

Ruby at Valley View Cottages is perfectly located for walkers yet accessible to the village of Kilkhampton and the Atlantic Highway, which provides the main vein for touring the surrounding area by car. Join the many foot paths which can be found quite close by, take the direction of your amazing view from the outside area, following the river towards Duckpool, the pretty cove, passing through Stowe Woods and Coombe Valley. Here you can join the South West Coastal path heading north towards Higher Sharpnose Point into the famous Hawker country. Things to do in Morwenstow

Walking

A rambler's paradise, Morwenstow and the surrounding area are replete with routes across a variety of scenic landscapes, from the craggy coastline to woodlands and picturesque, Tidna Valley. You may even stumble across the sci-fi esque sight of the clifftop satellites of GCHQ Bude.

Beaches

Just south of Morwenstow lie the stunning stretches of Duckpool and Sandymouth, while Stanbury Mouth Beach is prime territory for a picnic or spot of rock pooling.

Harvest Festival

The parish's famous poet-vicar, Robert Hawker was creator of Cornwall's 'Trelawney' anthem and England's harvest festival tradition, which is celebrated here with aplomb.

Attractions

Hawker’s Hut

Visit Robert Hawker’s diminutive driftwood dwelling nestled in the cliffs below his old vicarage – another must-see that features hand-built chimneys replicating the church towers he treasured throughout his life.

Morwenstow Church

A marvel of architecture, the historic church houses a range of fine carvings, tomb chests, memorials and stained glass windows; while in the graveyard lies dozens of smugglers and mariners - look out for the white figurehead of the Caledonia: the gravestone of a shipwrecked captain.

Henna Cliff

One of the best vantage points in the area affords spectacular seascapes where - standing atop Cornwall’s highest cliff at 144 metres - you can gain a bird’s eye view of Lundy Island and distant, south Wales coast.
