September 2021

Ruskin is a home from home, beautifully appointed and is ideal for a couple. Its set in the countryside so a car (and sat nav) is essential. Eddie and Helen made us very welcome and there was a lovely gift of cheese and biscuits, a cream tea and a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us which was unexpected and delicious ! Tip - Cornwall is busy so booking early at restaurants is essential if you are not self-catering. We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing well earned break. Thank you for a great stay!

Holidays in Mawgan Porth

Mawgan Porth is a peaceful area on the North coast of Cornwall situated between Newquay and Padstow. With beautiful scenery, a sandy beach and fantastic walking and cycle routes, it’s perfect for a beachside holiday.

Located on the rugged north coast with a large sandy beach, Mawgan Porth is perfect for a restful holiday in a quiet setting away from the busier nearby towns. Just a stone’s throw from the beach you’ll find a café, pub, restaurant and fish and chip shop, so you can grab some food after a long day at the beach.

Top tip

Feeling energetic? Walk the coast path to Padstow and enjoy some breathtaking views along the way!

Mawgan Porth beach

This west facing beach is sheltered by high cliffs on either side and even at high tide there’s plenty of room for everyone. With lifeguards during the summer, and dogs allowed all year on the beach, the whole family will be able to enjoy sunny days on the sand. From sunbathing and swimming, to rock pooling and body boarding, there’s something for everyone.

Walks

Take the coastal path north from Mawgan Porth to head to Padstow, and south to visit Newquay. Pop on your walking shoes and take in the spectacular views as you ramble the South West Coast Path.

Helen and Eddie were perfect hosts, attentive and helpful but discreet and unobtrusive. The property suited our needs perfectly it was comfortable and spotlessly clean as well as in a great location for the many fantastic places to visit as well as walks from the doorstep. We are already interested in rebooking. Highly recommended.

Friendly and helpful owners, very comfortable, everything you need for your stay. Excellant location for exploring

. Ruskin is a real home from home . Everything we needed was there . And the cleanliness was second to none . Helen & Eddie were a lovely genuine Couple . Who left us alone but we knew where they was if we needed anything . They left us a lovely welcome tray which was much appreciated after our long journey. Aspects holidays were fantastic to deal with and were so helpful with a few questions we had . And we will definitely be booking with Aspects again . Honestly we can’t speak highly enough of our whole experience we had a lovely holiday at Ruskin. Thank you all Jackie & Wayne .

Fabulous welcoming hosts Beautiful little place with no negative Just like the advert Lovely welcome treats to enjoy and went down a treat

A well located and central rental for north and south Cornwall as long as you have a car. Spacious and very well equipped for two people with two televisions and good WiFi connections. Greeted on arrival by the owners but they were not intrusive, and a cream tea, cheese and biscuits and Prosecco were a welcome surprise and much appreciated after a long journey. We visited National Trust Gardens, The Eden Project, Rick Stein’s Restaurant in Padstow and Fowey/Polruan which were all within less than an hour’s drive from Ruskin. A very pleasant holiday and can highly recommend the cottage. I

Warm welcome, lovely cream tea (cream on first ??) cheese biscuits ??& prosecco ??. Would highly recommend

The property itself was cosy and comfortable, a nice location to return to after a day off exploring the coastlines of Cornwall. The owners were so generous, friendly and helpful, and the welcome hamper was very much appreciated and enjoyed. I would definitely recommend the Ruskin for a little Cornish getaway.

Ruskin is superb - everything is best quality, clean and almost new. Owners very attentive but not intrusive. Garden and patio area well tended and tidy. Can recommend to all. Likely to rebook next year.

Ruskin is an extremely comfortable, peaceful and well-equipped holiday home, especially if you do not want the hustle and bustle of a large town. Night-life, correspondingly, is negligent and you will need to travel to eat out. The accommodation, however, has all the equipment you will need to self-cater. It is ideally situated to visit many places of interest in Cornwall, and because of its isolated location having a car is a must - there is parking at the accommodation.

Ruskin is clean, comfortable, cosy, well equipped and the perfect base to explore the stunning coastal area, situated amid glorious countryside. Lovely welcoming hosts helped make it a great holiday. Chris and Barbara, Woking.

A delightful property set in a quiet, relaxing location with very welcoming and helpful owners who live on site. The cream tea and prosecco awaiting us on arrival was very much appreciated after a tiring journey.

Ruskin is a lovely quaint cottage annex, it was everything and more for what we needed during our week stay. The welcome gift of cream tea, cheese and crackers and bottle of prosecco was gratefully received, so thank you!

A very comfortable accommodation in a very quiet location. We were pleasantly surprised to find on our arrival scones, jam and cream, a bottle of prosecco, milk and crackers and cheese waiting for us. Well equipped, there was everything we needed for our stay. The village is within walking distance, although hilly with a great pub but the beach is over 2 miles and found we did need the car. The whole of this part of Cornwall has some great beaches and quiet rural villages and Ruskin is well located to visit all. If you are concerned about the airport being close don’t be, we hardly heard anything and what we did hear was not intrusive.

Lovely cottage, lovely owners. Didn’t want to leave

comfortable accommodation in a pleasant location. Owners very approachable & helpful.

Ideal for walkers

This was an excellent property and had absolutely everything we needed. Our hosts, Mr and Mrs Russell, were fantastic and made us feel right at home. The welcome pack on arrival was a lovely surprise. I would definitely recommend staying here.
