Cornwall is rapidly becoming the place to find delicious food in restaurants and cafés – but don’t discount the range of delicatessens that are springing up throughout villages and towns – they can offer a range of delicious Cornish produce to perk up your picnic or make self-catering a gourmet experience.
The Allotment Deli – Fore Street, St Ives
The Allotment Deli embodies all that a local delicatessen should be. It prides itself on stocking produce that is as local as possible, and offers a wide range of delicious foods to tempt and delight. There are fresh, locally made cakes, pasties and pastries with gluten-free options too. Bread is made by two local bread makers, and vegetable boxes are provided through links with local farms. They even provide made-to-order picnic hampers filled with a selection of their finest goodies – including their renowned home-made vegetarian scotch eggs. If you are looking for something different and easy for dinner, try a Ruby June curry – made in St Ives and loved by locals.
The Digey Foodroom – The Digey, St Ives
