Last Friday, Marketing Assistant Molly Rusden and Property Manager Bini Barnes were kindly invited to The Lobster Shed located at The Pig at Harlyn Bay near Padstow, for a fantastic outdoor dining experience.

Situated in tranquil countryside grounds with a sea view across Harlyn Bay, The Lobster Shed offers outdoor eating and drinking with seriously tasty fresh local food, straight from the Cornish Sea. The sun was shining as we were welcomed by the friendly staff into the under-canvas space, which has a retractable roof and sides so we could enjoy the sunshine, but you can still be protected from the unreliable Cornish weather on cloudier days!

Cooked to order on the charcoal-fired grill, we opted for a classic lobster and a lobster thermidor, and it did not disappoint! Not only did it tantalize our tastebuds, but we were also thrilled that £1 from every lobster sold at The Lobster Shed goes to The National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow; we love their ‘Buy One, Set One Free’ initiative! The tripled cooked skin on fries were also not to be forgotten, as with the refreshing cocktails, perfect on a warm spring day. We finished off with a massive chocolate ice cream sundae, there’s always room for dessert!

Here is what Bini thought about the afternoon: “I thought The Lobster Shed went above and beyond to make us feel special, nothing was too much trouble, their service was friendly and knowledgeable about all the dishes and flavours, they even asked how spicy I would like my Bloody Mary, a really nice touch. There was just the right amount of interaction with their guests, attentive without interrupting, the location was super relaxing and whilst also felt special, while the food was simply WOW!"

You can pre-book a table here, however, The Lobster Shed also accepts walk-ins and as Anna, the Sales Manager at The Pig told us, “We will always find you a table!” Dogs are also welcome in The Lobster Shed.
