Aspects, St Ives Food and Drink Festival | May 2013

Aspects have always been supporters of local community events and the St Ives Food and Drink Festival is one that is always highlighted in the annual calendar. This year, the business has taken the spot as lead sponsor, making it the first ever ‘Aspects St Ives Food and Drink Festival’.

As well as a change of name, the event will also be moving from the town to the iconic Porthminster Beach which organisers hope will be better suited to its growing popularity. Having supported the festival for many years, we are extremely proud to be part of this new move and what is believed to be the UK’s only beach-held food and drink festival.

Wild Harbour Fish in Hayle will be donating their sustainably caught fish for the cooking demo’s taking place over the weekend so expect some culinary delights from local celebrity chefs including pollack, mackerel, cod, crab and lobster!

As well as a range of Cornish producers and cookery demonstrations, this year’s festival will also include edible seaweed cooking, tastings and talks, pasty making classes for children, an Oyster and Champagne event, fish filleting demonstrations, live music and the opportunity to go fishing off the coast of St Ives!

The festival will run over the weekend of the 18th-19th May and will be host to renowned local producers like Newlyn fish merchant W Stevenson & Sons, St Ives Beef, Cornish Smoakies, St Ives Brewery, Grumpies Pies, The Glorious Oyster and artisan St Ives-based chocolate maker I Should Coco.
