Get outdoors in Cornwall this summer

Summer walks in Cornwall

Ah – the great outdoors. And nowhere does it quite like we do here in Cornwall. Sublime seascapes, majestic moorlands, rambling countryside and picturesque rivers…the county is awash with world-class landscapes that make a visit to the far reaches of the country beyond-worthwhile in number of alluring ways.

Getting outdoors in Cornwall in summer seems impossibly easy since it’s surrounded by what it’s most famous for – its beaches. But why not mix it up a little and go al fresco in a slightly different way?

With an array of sporting fixtures, festivals, gardens and green spaces, walking and cycling routes, cultural events, iconic landmarks and natural wonders, you’re spoiled for choice for things to see and do – especially if you exercise your imagination and dare to ditch the sun lounger for a day or two of alternate exploration and activities.

Here are some top ideas to whet your appetite for Cornwall’s incredible ‘other’ outdoors…

Miracle Theatre – Life’s a Dream

June and July

Miracle Dream

The brand new adaptation from Bill Scott features music by Tom Adams and is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a cultural experience like no other across some of Cornwall’s most enchanting outside spaces.

One of which will be Trelissick on 21st or 22nd July, which promises a spellbinding under-the-stars performance in one of Cornwall’s most captivating country estates. In similarly sublime style, The Minack will also stage the production, as will Trebah Gardens and Penlee Park Open Air Theatre.
