Romantic quirky accomadation ideal for our honeymoon

Mr McKnight

Tucked away in a corner of a large garden at Rivendell we really loved Beach Retreat a quaint timber chalet with bags of charm and character set amongst trees and ferns with its own decked terrace where you can while away the day in dappled shade or sit out on the huge lawn in the sunshine. The coastal path at the bottom of the garden leads one way to st ives or the other to carbis bay both taking around 20 mins to walk.We loved eating al fresco on the decking with its fantastic views over carbis bay and godrevy and then strolling along the picturesque path into st ives where all the eateries and activities you need are a short walk away. All in all a fantastic holiday with Brian our host at Rivendell always on hand for a chat and friendly advice. We will certainly be returning to Beach Retreat on our next visit to st ives.

Due to a more sheltered aspect, tucked away from the prevailing ocean winds, this area has an abundance of mature trees - somewhat a rarity on the otherwise rugged north Cornish coast making the area a natural home to a diversity of flora and fauna. A small network of footpaths, including a particularly attractive stretch of the Cornish Coastal Footpath, puts self catering cottages in Treloyhan within 10 minutes’ walk of Carbis Bay, 15 minutes of St Ives and all of the secluded coves and rocky outcrops in between.
