St Ives Harbour

The Wharf, otherwise known as St Ives harbour, is a hive of activity throughout the year. With a continual hustle and bustle on the water and along the harbour front, there is always plenty to do and see while self catering at the Wharf, even at the quieter times of the year.  It’s an ever changing scene so perfect for those artists among you. Don’t forget about the very sheltered, sandy Harbour Beach, a perfect sun-trap in the heart of town and a great place to find seaglass and sea pottery! As night falls at the end of another perfect day, St Ives comes alive with a selection of bars, restaurants and cafés to suit every pocket and every taste in a truly cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Things to do at the Wharf

Boat Trips

Why not enjoy the scenery by boat and explore the coastline with an excursion with St Ives Boat Trips. Fishing trips are available for those looking for a bit of adventure, or for a more relaxing experience, a visit to seal island lets you see seals basking on the rocks at certain times of year.

Eating and Drinking

The Wharf is home to a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, serving up fresh fish and chips to gourmet burgers, with something to suit everyone. Enjoy an ice cream or Cornish pasty and watch the world go by on the harbour front, but remember to keep your wits about you; seagulls in St Ives are renowned for swooping in and stealing food right from your hands!

Smeaton's Pier

From here you'll get a stunning view of the harbour, and an up close view of the crystal clear waters. At the entrance to the pier you'll find St Leonard's Chapel; originally dedicated for local fisherman, it is now a museum and memorial for the fisherman of St Ives.

Lifeboat station

Home to the new £1.5 million lifeboat, the RNLI lifeboat station is a popular attraction for visitors to St Ives. The gift shop next door sells souvenirs where all profits go towards helping to save lives at sea.

Fantastic location amazing views very clean highly recommended Shame about parking but guess with location you can’t have it all ????????

A lovely property with great views and good location for access to bars and restaurants.

Compact but easily big enough for 4 (2 adults, 2 children). Location is unsurpassed

Midships is located along the Wharf overlooking the harbour, the view is therefore stunning. The apartment is well equipped, it does include a washing machine, not mentioned in the property description. Its a superb place for people/tide watching and its central location means you are close to everything you need. If considering going during busy times, bear in mind the noise of the hustle and bustle just outside your window, great entertainment during daytime hours but not so during the early hours! Would definitely recommend Midships, we have already rebooked!

Very comfortable and clean apartment in a fab location with wonderful views, will definitely return.

We have stayed in Midships a few times now The cleanliness and all the fixtures are lovely The views are amazing and make for a lovely relaxing holiday and our little dog loves to watch the world go by xx

Great location and pleased to find an apartment that takes dogs. Having said this though, we were disappointed that the property had a very bad smell to the adjoining hall way. Wouldn't recommend to a family with younger children as they would not be able to sleep due to high volume of people outside visiting the local pubs and eateries, till the early hours of the morning.

We are sorry to hear that you experienced a smell from the communal entrance area. That isn't something that has ever been noticed before or in the couple of bookings that have been in since, so we will monitor it in case it appears again. This property is located in one of the prime areas of St Ives, with amazing views, just a few steps from the harbour, beach and lovely eateries within St Ives, but being in such a popular location, there will be a lot of people around. It has proved very popular with parties of all types and ages, with many returning, but if you are used to peace and quiet and have young children that will wake easily, this certainly may be something that you want to consider. A lovely light airy apartment with fantastic views from all rooms. It is in a brilliant position to get the most out of St Ives. It didn’t matter about the weather as you were at the beach all of the time!!

We had a lovely week in St Ives. Midships was comfortable and nice to have a cup of tea and watch out at the harbour Would stay again well we have twice now

Great place to stay lived up to description , would stay there again had a brilliant time x

Perfect location for a St Ives holiday. Well equipped apartment. Great value for money. We'll be booking again.

Amazing views from all the rooms and in a central location on the wharf. Great property as long as you are ok with stairs and limited space around the bed.

We are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed this property and its amazing location. Being a second floor apartment, it involves a number of stairs which we try to make as clear as possible in the description and try to show the room around the beds as clearly as we can. We always want to be as open and honest as possible, and try to give an accurate representation of properties within our photos, so hope that we have achieved that in this case, but we will continue to monitor feedback. We hope that it suited all members of your party, and hope that you enjoyed everything that St Ives had to offer. Thank you for taking the time to send in your comments. Tanya, Customer Services.

AMAZING Location and view from the apartment.

Location & view were amazing the apartment is very tired & in need of some updating (new carpets) as they were a bit smelly.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

Thank you for your comments. It really is an absolutely fantastic location, with front row seats to watch over the harbour. We are sorry that the carpets had been in that condition but are pleased to now report that the owner has had new carpets fitted throughout. We are sure that this will have made a huge difference. Thank you again for letting us know. Tanya, Customer Services

Great family holiday. The stunning views made up for a few minor improvements needed.

Let me start by saying we love visiting St Ives as its such a magical place. However, Midships, the wharf came very close to ruining our week’s stay in lovely St Ives. Aspect Holidays customer service department tried to rectify the truly awful experience of staying at Midships but even with a small refund our week was tainted by the smell, the filth and the disturbingly old and uncomfortable mattresses. Apparently the owner will rectify the many issues with the property but unfortunately for us not soon enough.

Reply from Aspects Holidays

We were so sorry to have heard that you had not found this property to be up to the high standards that you have come to expect from properties that we market. Of course, mattresses can be a little tricky to judge as everyone has different preferences with these, but upon inspection, we completely agreed that the carpets needed replacing. Having discussed everything at the time with you, we understand that the owner's agreement to replace all carpets and mattresses, unfortunately wasn't something that would help improve your stay due to the timescales on ordering these, but we wanted you to know that your comments were taken very seriously and acted upon. Again, we are sorry for your experience on this occasion and sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back, to restore your faith in the properties that we market.
