My wife and I have been using Aspects for a number of years and it is because they provide fantastic service and properties that always suit our needs.

January 2024

One of the best cottages we have stayed in. The service from Aspects was brilliant, with lovely small touches that set this cottage apart. We will definitely be back, and will definitely book with Aspects again for our holiday.

Holidays in Porthleven

Whatever you love about Cornwall, we’re sure you'll find it while enjoying a holiday in Porthleven. Relax and enjoy the boats bobbing in the harbour, pull on the walking boots and join the coastal path to Rinsey and Praa Sands, take a short drive to nearby Marazion and the iconic St Michael's Mount, or hit the waves and surf until sunset.

This charming fishing town has a relaxing atmosphere; it's gorgeous in the Summer and dramatic during the Winter. The granite harbour and pier with its famous clock tower has become an iconic storm-watching spot during wild wintry weather and offers a tranquil setting on calmer days.

Take a short break out of season in Porthleven and avoid the hubbub on the roads and beaches. Soak up the sun on the harbour front and watch the fishing boats pass by. Catch the first glimpses of colour from the acres of Cornish daffodils in early spring with the sea as a back drop as you drive from coast to coast. With easy access to the coastal footpath, head east to discover Gunwalloe Fishing Cove, Polurnan Cliffs and Mullion Cove or head west and marvel at Praa Sands, Perranuthnoe and Marazion.

Take a short walk from Porthleven and reach the coarse sand of Porthleven beach, reaching two miles south as far as Loe Bar, a sand spit separating the sea and forming Loe Pool, the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall.

Porthleven harbour is an enjoyable place to relax, with its cafés, pubs and restaurants providing the perfect place for you to sit outside and watch the world float by!

Top tip

Like storm watching? Visit in winter and you may be lucky enough to experience huge waves crashing over the clock tower!

My wife and I have been using Aspects for a number of years and it is because they provide fantastic service and properties that always suit our needs.

One of the best cottages we have stayed in. The service from Aspects was brilliant, with lovely small touches that set this cottage apart. We will definitely be back, and will definitely book with Aspects again for our holiday.

Melrose is comfortable, quiet, well-equipped and ideally located for us. It's become our home from home. We're back again in May 2024.

Spotlessly clean spacious bungalow

This was our fourth time staying at Melrose. I must admit we were apprehensive when the Agent changed to Aspect, but we needn’t have worried as the condition of the property this year was outstanding. Your cleaner should be congratulated for the absolutely spotless condition that met us when we walked in. This is a lovely spacious bungalow, large drive for parking and has beautiful gardens both front and back. The back garden is very private, secure and both are well maintained. The location is in a very pleasant quiet residential road and is within easy walking distance from the village. Booking with Aspect is quick and easy and I particularly like the little welcoming touches you leave in the accommodation for your guests. We have already booked for next year.

We fell in love with Melrose, absolutely amazingly clean, spotless. Bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows. Loved all the quirky things about and the plaques above the doors. Very local to everything too. We will be back again to stay at Melrose.

Excellent location, very quiet but close to the harbour. Secure garden for dogs. Exceptionally clean, well equipped and comfortable. Recommended.

Aspect Holidays are the best company we have had dealings with over the last few years. They are friendly and very efficient. This was our third trip to Melrose and we are already booked for 2024. I think that says it all!

A well equipped and decorated bungalow which met all our needs. We would definitely book this accommodation again.

I don’t want to leave a glowing revue, because I don’t want anyone else to know about this little gem in Porthleven ( my joke!). We love Melrose, so cosy and comfortable and in an ideal location. Just out of the hustle and bustle of the village, but close enough for an easy stroll into the shops and restaurants.

Our third visit to Melrose and just as enjoyable as the previous two. We had a problem with the router which failed but Brian was there and sorted it in a day.

Very nice property in great location. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped. Comfy beds, lovely little garden and sun deck. Nice garden furniture. Plenty of parking, good shower. Very quiet. Lovely and warm. Nice touch was a "cream tea" and milk in the fridge.

We spent a week staying at Melrose. A brilliant location, easy to find and good parking. It was only a 5 minute walk from the property to the shops. Melrose is well equipped, with comfy beds and enough seating for a family of four. The lovely large window in the sitting room gave wonderful views over the countryside and town, you can even see a glimpse of the sea. Unfortunately due to the weather we were not able to use the garden but I did manage to hang washing out a couple of times and was very pleased to find lots of pegs! We will definitely stay at Melrose again.

We had a lovely holiday in Melrose again this year, the position is excellent and the garden a quiet sanctuary when the sun shines. The parking is secure and it is only 5 minutes walk into the heart of beautiful Porthleven.

We have had a lovely week at Melrose. The property is in an excellent location. It is very comfortable and well equpped.

Perfectly located bungalow set in a quiet residential area but just a short stroll to the harbour. Lots to do and see in and around Porthleven and plenty of eating choices too. Highly recommend this for a couple or small family. We'll be back in 2023 ??

2nd time at Melrose. Great base for exploring Cornwall but equally 'lots of things to do' in & around Porthleven. Great welcome at house - a delightful cream-tea on arrival. Hope to be back! ??

Had a lovely week in the cottage. Excellent standard and lovely secure peaceful garden for us and the dogs. Short walk in to harbour and shops.

Excellent property lovely garden, close to all you need in the village. Ideal for two couples or small family. Would highly recommend this for a short or longer stay. We hope to return again soon.
