Pendarven should be used as a template for other holiday let's it had everything you could imagine was simply like stepping into your own home. The bed was super comfy enjoyed a good night sleep. The living room furniture is comfortable with Now TV so when we wasn't out and about we binged watched succession which we thoroughly enjoyed. The weather at times wasn't great but with everything listed it turned out we didn't need to be out all the time. We was left some treats by the owner which was super yummy and went down very well thank you.

Holidays in West Cornwall

There is almost an embarrassment of riches for the visitor to choose from when looking at holiday cottages in West Cornwall. With its extraordinary variety of landscapes and coastline, as well as its proud history and cultural heritage, you won't be disappointed.

With many superb beaches to enjoy, including five with the coveted Blue Flag status, it is easy to see why so many people associate this part of the world with sun, sea, sand and, of course, surf. There is, however, so much more on offer when contemplating self catering holidays in West Cornwall.

West Cornwall is home to popular destinations such as MarazionPenzanceCarbis Bay and St Ives, which are all worth a visit. From the iconic St Michael's Mount to the breath taking Minack Theatre as featured in our blog, you wont be short of things to do while self catering in West Cornwall.

Things to do in West Cornwall

Days out

With such an abundance of stunning sights in West Cornwall, you'll be spoilt for choice when choosing where to visit while holidaying here. St Michael's Mount, The Minack Theatre, and St Ives harbour are just a few of the enthralling places on offer. The many golden sandy beaches that West Cornwall boasts are perfect for topping up the tan. For something a little more energetic, boat trips, fishing excursions and water sports are available. Museums and art galleries provide an equally enjoyable day out, with world famous exhibitions at the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth museum within easy reach.

With the bustling coastal towns of St Ives, Mousehole and Marazion within close proximity of one another, you can be sure to find somewhere to provide everything you need to the perfect family day out.

Walking

Cornwall's spectacular scenery provides the perfect backdrop for exploring. The coastal paths which hug the rugged cliffs offer breath taking sea views, while walking inland you can enjoy the many nature reserves, ancient stone circles and woodland, for which Cornwall is renowned.

Art & heritage

Famous for its quality of light, the area has long been a haven for artists and there are many galleries to be found wherever you go. There are also many gardens to enjoy; the mild climate will often let plants flourish here which you won’t find anywhere else in the country. For those wanting to dig a little deeper, there is also an amazing mining and maritime heritage which has done much to shape the county and its people as well as, it could be argued, the rest of the world.

This is our 2nd visit. Every comfort supplied. Thanks for a lovely holiday.

Pendarven is very well situated for ease of getting around this area of Cornwall. The property itself is very spacious and well equipped with everything you could possible need for a holiday. We would have no hesitation in recommending Pendarven. Thank you Chris and all the staff at Aspect Holidays.

An absolute gem. Spacious, cosy and a great base. Quiet countryside location but so close to lots of amazing places. Beds were very comfy and amazing shower. Beautiful outside space. We absolutely loved it

The bungalow is beautiful and is situated in a great place to get to different locations and to get to great beaches. Pendarven bungalow had everything we needed and much more, which made our stay even more comfortable. Gwithian Bay and Carbis Bay were lovely beaches and worth a visit. The shire inn and The Cornish Arms are great places to eat, as the food was lovely. Overall our holiday was a great one.Thank you Chris.

The house is simply fantastic. All you can ask for and great for families with up to 2 kids. Area is also nice . Many places easy to reach. Many thanks to the landlord of the property who is personally looking after the guests. We have enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back.

The most spotlessly clean property we have ever stayed in and a generous welcome of bread, milk, eggs, and cream tea. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, a cosy lounge with games, cards and a guest Netflix account. The bed was super comfy and plenty of storage in both bedrooms. A shed to hang wetsuits and outside tap and hose to rinse them after a day at the beach. The owner is super friendly and on hand if you need anything. Thank you for a really lovely stay.

Exactly as described. Clean, very comfortable and everything you would need for a relaxing stay. Bread cake milk and all the other goodies really appreciated. Would love to stay again sometime.

Pendarven is a lovely holiday home in the small village of Carnhell Green. The property is very clean, and has everything required for a relaxing stay. Great outdoor spaces to take advantage of in good weather, looking out towards countryside both front and back. Chris, the owner was very accommodating and we really appreciated the welcome pack!!

Couldn't recommend this property highly enough and would happily return.

The most immaculate, comfortable bungalow. Pendarven was perfect for our family of four. Chris has thought of everything in this property, making our stay so easy and stress free. There is so much space for all your luggage and belongings, it was so nice to hide everything away. There are gorgeous views front and back, and you are only a short drive away from some stunning beaches. Thank you Chris and Aspects Holidays for a wonderful stay in Cornwall!

Great accommodation, very clean with all the appliances you could need. Very central, within 10 minutes to the a number of beaches.

Our second stay in Pendarven and equally as enjoyable as the first. We were a family of 2 parents and 2 children (3yrs & 8yrs) and Pendarven was perfect. Really clean, spacious rooms and a well equipped kitchen plus a lovely garden. The welcome treats were much appreciated. The location is fantastic for exploring all of Cornwall and the driveway parking is great.

A beautiful clean home with everything we needed. Lovely welcome touch - milk, scones, cream & jam as well as tea, coffee and dishwasher tablets. Perfect location for getting to many places such as Gwithian beach, Hayle, Helston, St Ives. A lovely peaceful place to stay. We had a fabulous holiday!

Excellent bungalow, comfortable, clean and everything you could wish for. Great location to explore Cornwall. Plenty of good places to eat and highly recommend the farm restaurant and shop just down the road. Great welcoming pack of scones, jam and clotted cream and fresh milk.Have already booked for 2023.

A superb home away from home. So comfy and clean with everything you need supplied. Owners are also really lovely people and the welcome gifts of scone, milk and eggs were perfect!

I find the staff of Aspects Holidays very efficient, helpful and friendly.

The bungalow was absolutely stunning, decorated & furnished to a very high standard with everything you could possibly need for a brilliant holiday. It is situated in an excellent position giving easy access to south Cornwall & only a few minutes drive to larger towns. The owners were really helpful & had left milk in the fridge with fresh scones, jam & cream as a lovely welcome gift which we soon devoured after a long journey. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would highly recommend Pendraven

We choose Pendarven for our first holiday since the lockdown. We couldnt have wished for better accommodation it was excellent. The beds were so comfy, everything you could wish for was included. We were welcomed with some genuine cornish treats, from our hosts Chris and Lesley, which were much appreciated. Plus a lovely garden to sit out in watching the evening sun go down with a nice glass of wine.

Such a lovely bungalow done up to a high spec. It was nice to have some essentials provided on arrival such as milk, eggs and even some scones with clotted cream and jam. Couldn’t fault the property at all. The shower was powerful and the bed was super comfy. A perfect base to get to different areas of Cornwall.

This is a fabulous place to stay. The bungalow is beautiful with a stylish, comfortable, luxurious and homely feel, perfect for our family holiday. The pictures reflect perfectly how lovely this home is. It has everything you could need and more, set in a great location for exploring Cornwall but also only 15 mins from the beautiful gwithian beach. The owners Chris and Lesley were lovely and made our holiday extra special with Cornish treats on arrival, a lovely touch. We would highly recommend Pendarven, as a family of 2 boys (7yrs and 3yrs) and 2 parents, it was perfect for everyone, including an enclosed garden for enjoying the Cornish evenings after days at the beach. A special place and one we’d happily come back to. Thanks Sandie and Rob from Nottingham

A beautiful bungalow - clean, spacious and equipped with everything you could think of. Lovely big garden with 2 seating areas - perfect for having your coffee outside… Fabulous comfy beds - slept so well. And easy to get to the beach! A really fabulous holiday ??

A wonderful stay at Pendarven and the property was beautifully furnished throughout with every accessory you could ever want in the large kitchen, beautiful living room with excellent TV/Entertainment system and bedrooms very comfortable. The outdoor space was so well presented with several out-door eating spaces and a beatiful BBQ. Could not fault the cottage or the location, will definately return in the future.

Our holiday at Pendarven was wonderful - immaculately clean and we enjoyed all the lovely touches like the welcome hamper of local produce and the wood burners that we're made up ready to light. The owners even dropped off a summer-weight duvet when the weather warmed up. A perfect stay!

Our holiday was absolutely wonderful. We loved our accomodation and the book in the property was really helpful on guiding us as to what's available in the local area, from beautiful places to visit to wonderful places to eat. We spent time visiting Gwithian Towans and Godrevy, Hayle, St. Ives, We also visited Porthleven nearby and Gweek. We enjoyed food at the Red River Inn, The Terrace, The Watermill and Trevaskiss Farm. All were wonderful. We also visited the Golden Lion Inn which was a bit farther afield. Would recommend all of the above highly, superb food. We cannot wait to return to this beautiful place again soon.

We had absolutely amazing time in Pendarven. The accommodation is perfect, comfy with absolutely everything you need for everyday living – chilling. 2 gorgeous bedrooms with very comfy beds, lovely furnishing and bathroom. Outdoor area is perfect for children, yoga practise and meal time. We cannot fault anything at all and will definitely will be coming back. Thank you very much Mr Gaunt!

A well appointed and thoughtfully provisioned bungalow, located in a peaceful, rural area of West Cornwall. Chris and Lesley had left us some delicious Cornish farm produce and were not far away if anything was needed. Supermarkets are available in the larger surrounding towns but a friendly local post office/store is just across the road (NB: it had a large selection of wines!) Also within a mile is the Trevaskis Farm Shop and Restaurant. It was great to be away from the crowds, and we found that this was a 'different' Cornwall from which you can see the industrial and archaeological past, a lovely contrast to the resorts. We would highly recommend this holiday home!
