The Loft is a modern family home, located in the peaceful Saltings Reach development just a stone's throw from the RSPB nature reserve on Hayle Estuary. Sleeping six guests in three bedrooms, it is perfect for families, friends, or even a couple to enjoy, as their own, for a week or two. You will arrive to cosy furnishings, offering comfort throughout the days and nights, and the rear courtyard has furniture for sitting out during warmer weather and is ideal as guests are welcome to bring up to two dogs. The allocated parking space to the front of The Loft, allows you to come and go with ease each day, or simply leave the car at home, and take a stroll to the nearby Porthkidney beach, which is dog friendly year-round, before stopping off for some lunch and a drink or two, in the popular Badger Inn pub. Lelant station can be accessed within ten minutes, where you'll be taken on a journey of breath-taking views, heading into St Ives town. There is plenty to do nearby, keeping all ages entertained, from bird spotting to some family fun at Coast to Coast Karting or at the local Pitch and Putt at St Erth. After a busy day, you can stop by The Old Forge restaurant, for a delicious dinner, washed down with some superb Cornish gin or local beer, before strolling home, to put your feet up and plan the next days adventures.

The Loft is convenient for St Ives, Hayle and Penzance. There is also a lovely walk to Porthkidney Beach, which is stunning. The property is welcoming and comfortable, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, although there are dog friendly restaurants and pubs within walking distance if don’t fancy cooking! This was our second stay, and won’t be the last, it’s perfect for a family holiday with or without dogs.

Lovely modern property with all expected amenities. Small court yard allowed for the double doors from the ground floor bedroom to be open. Single allocated parking to the front of the house - any other parking is road side across the Lelant Saltings housing estate or in the Lelant station pay and display car park. Easy access to St Ives and other local towns, local amenities to eat out, bird watch or just pass time were easily accessible on foot.

Holidays in Lelant

Lelant is a pretty, quaint village that is situated on the main route to Carbis Bay and St Ives. Rent a self catering property in Lelant and you'll be well placed to dine out at the delicious deli and restaurant, 'The Old Forge', enjoy a round of golf at West Cornwall Golf Club, or jump on the branch line to St Ives town.

Lelant itself has two pubs, a restaurant, a golf course with stunning views and a vast beach with areas of secluded woodland. Holidays in Lelant are perfect for couples who want the peace of staying somewhere rural but are close to local amenities. You're never far from the beach when you stay in Lelant; take a stroll alongside the estuary, through the sand dunes and down to the vast expanse of Porthkindney Sands where the River Hayle joins the Atlantic Ocean.

If you book a holiday in Lelant you’re perfectly situated for sightseeing, with a nearby train line to St Ives or Penzance for spot of shopping. If you jump in the car you can travel down the far west coast, one of the most beautiful driving routes in the UK. Stop off at the Gurnard’s Head for a bite of lunch or make your way down to Cape Cornwall and Sennen Cove

For those looking to explore on foot, the 12.5 mile St Michael's Way walk from Lelant to Marazion offers a great way to experience the Cornish countryside. The walk meanders through moorland and the small villages of Gulval and Ludgvan before emerging in Marazion with St Michael's Mount in clear view.

Overall we had a good holiday at the Loft in Lelant. There are good eateries and a beach within walking distance. It should be noted that there are only a limited number of trains which stop at Lelant Saltings. The property is on a quiet modern estate, with a parking space, and has good access to the A30. It is only a few miles from St Ives and Carbis Bay. Generally we found the property comfortable, well equipped and clean although some of the drawers needed cleaning prior to using. Also it should be noted that the on-suite shower cubicle is small and wouldn't suit a tall person.

Although it doesn't stop there frequently through the day, it is well worth a trip with arguably some of the best views from any train ride! We would always expect that guests arrive to their chosen property to find that it has been cleaned to a very high standard, but if any area had been missed, we are so sorry and will feed this back to the housekeeper. We have tried to make the size and height of the ensuite shower as clear as we can on the website description and photos, so we do hope that this was what you had expected. The Loft was a lovely home and in a good position. It was beautifully decorated and well equipped. It was lovely to be able to take my dogs but I don’t think I would choose an upside down house again as they are large dogs and had to go up and down the stairs more often than I liked and they really needed a larger garden but for smaller dogs who could be carried it would be fine. I would go back without them as it was a lovely property.

Property very clean and modern. Everything you need in The Loft for a lovely holiday. Location is fantastic and picturesque. Stayed here twice now and would definitely return. Highly recommended.

Lovely clean cottage. Bed linen and towels included. Perfect location. 15 minute walk to Porthkidney sands. Easy to get to st Ives on train and we walked several times.

Great location on SW coast path and easy 4 mile walk to St Ives. Loved the many close dog friendly beaches. The Badger pub and Birdies restaurant nearby were different to each other and great for food and drinks.

House lovely, clean and comfortable.

Note parking at the house for one car only, if more than one car would need to park on street around the corner.

We had a great time and would happily return.

Location brilliant for walking on Porth Kidney beach, train access to Carbis Bay and St Ives, and a short walk to The Old Forge for a full cornish breakfast.

Overall a very lovely property which is ideally situated. However, lots of damp and lack of kitchen equipment would probably mean we didn’t return.

Thanks for your feedback. The owners are coming down to have a look at and sort out the damp that you mentioned in the bathroom, thank you for letting us know. It is such a shame that you had not contacted us while here, about the kitchen equipment, as the lack of saucepans that you specifically mentioned were missing, are all there, but in a 'hidden' cupboard. We are getting a laminated sign to help highlight this better for guests. If there are other essentials missing, we are always happy to help in trying to organise replacements. The Loft is lovely accomodation in a great position. Everything was in place that we needed. Lovely and comfortable.

We spent an enjoyable week at The Loft. The accommodation suited us and our dog well. Its location was an easy walk to St Erth station which made getting to St Ives and Carbis Bay easy without the challenge of finding car parking. Nearby Porthkidney beach is lovely and dog friendly all year round - parking accessed by driving through the golf course was perfect for us. The Loft provides a great base for driving to lots of beautiful places to visit in Cornwall.
