Beautiful little cottage, very nice and clean. Outdoor area on second floor a bonus. The free parking which is literally 3 minutes walk from the cottage ideal. The parking attendants were all very helpful and polite. Bathroom and toilet on the ground floor which might be a problem for some. Shower very efficient over the bath. Skylight in the kitchen great. Skylight in the bathroom novel! Lovely relaxing stay in Mevagissey.

Holidays in Mevagissey

Stay in Mevagissey and you’ll be perfectly placed to explore all that the south coast of Cornwall has to offer. Take a ferry trip to Fowey, visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan or spend a day at the beach at the nearby Pentewan Sands.

Best known for its harbour and fishing boats, Mevagissey still boasts as being part of Cornwall’s thriving fishing industry. Fresh fish can even be bought from the hut on the harbour wall, located a short stroll from the village aquarium, once the lifeboat station. Wander around the harbour area, with its narrow streets, fascinating shops and galleries and recall its smuggling history, or just relax in the bars and restaurants and coves and on nearby beaches.

There is a ferry boat which runs from end of April to beginning of October from Mevagissey to Fowey three or four times a day (don’t miss the return journey!) – journey time about 35 minutes. You may be lucky and spot some playful dolphins!

We had a fantastic week at Shell Cottage. The cottage was very comfortable with everything you need and lovely bedding. The location was perfect a 2 minute walk to the harbour where we enjoyed the pubs, restaurants and shops on offer. Had some lovely walks without using the car, there is a fantastic beach just a 10 minute walk away. We will hopefully come back next year and definitely recommend Shell Cottage.

Aspects Holidays comes up trumps again! We absolutely loved our stay at Shell Cottage in Mevagissey. The location is great: it is a very short walk into the centre of town and to the harbour, which was perfect for us as we were walking the coast path. The car park is also a very short walk away so it is easy to transport luggage to the cottage. Checking in to the car park and accessing the property were as easy as could be. The decoration is tasteful and the cottage is well-kept. It was the perfect size for us (two plus a dog); you could comfortably have four people. The kitchen is snug so you have to work tidily, but it has everything you need. We really appreciated having a washing machine. There is an outdoor terrace which was lovely in fine weather. The road was quiet and peaceful when we were there in mid-May. Overall, we could not fault anything about our stay in Shell Cottage and will look at re-booking if we ever head back to Mevagissey. It was excellent value for money given the location, the space and the parking.

Lovely quaint cottage 200 meters from the beautiful harbour Would highly recommend Dog friendly 10/10

Shell Cottage is a wonderful find. It has captured that comforting feeling you get when visiting your granny by the sea as a child. It’s decor is spot on and it contains all you need for a relaxing holiday! The outside terrace is a lovely bonus! Close to the harbour but it is not in a noisy street.
